Humble Nintendo Indie Bundle for the Americas

Great games there, already own most of them so I probably won't be partaking, but I highly recommend what's on offer.

Oh wait, Nintendo's doing something awesome? Better find something to complain about... I'm not in Europe but how dare Nintendo's region-specific codes be region-specific! I'm outraged!!!!1

Got the email, was really excited at the prospect of a nintendo bundle for both my 3DS and Wii U.

Looked through the games, thought "holy shit, I have to buy this" and then noticed it was for the Americas only. My smile disappeared so fast.

I hate that this is regional, and am surprised this is happening at all. Still, I'm not passing this up; I'm buying into it!

Never bought a Humble Indie Bundle or whatever it call but do I just pick the amount of money I'm willing to pay for and I get to choose a few games for any price? Like I can pay $1 and get Guacamelee? I already own most of the game I'm interested that listed besides Stealth Inc 2 but I like to know how this works.

Also lol @ region lock fine print.

Oh cool, will buy. Humble bundles are kind of new to me. The only one I bought was the Star Wars one which was pretty awesome.

Sucks for the people who aren't given the option to buy though. It's nice that they were trying to include more regions although sadly it didn't pan out. I really hope Iwata's recent statements on region locking lead to their next consoles being region free so that we can avoid this happening again.

Pay what you want includes the first 3 games. The other quantities add the respective games.

First humble bundle too. :p

Don't have any of the games on the list. So definitely a good deal for me. Thanks Nintendo of America. Usually they are frustrating and lagging behind when compared to Europe and Japan. They deserve praise for this though.

I'm in because this is something I never expected to happen, I need to support it. I'll wait until the last day to do so.

People should stop shitting on Nintendo in general. You should realise that if it's not in Europe is because of your CEO; Shibata. Go shit on Nintendo of Europe, send them some e-mails, call them, etc. but shitting here won't help you much.

How it works is self explanatory by look at the page itself really. It cannot possibly be any clearer.

Also, region lock fine print is not actually fine print since it locks you out of the "pay" button if your region doesn't match and you have to actively acknowledge that your region doesn't match to bypass it (for the importers among us).

Sent in my $10 to show support. Actually don't have Guacamelee and The Fall yet but intended to get it. Pretty damn good value if you as me, and I can get to gift the codes I don't need.

I feel more than likely Shibata will hear about this, and then will offer to support this bundle for European codes.

You don't have to buy every bundle.
Filthy pragmatists. You are going to tell me next that these games wont register on Steam either?
Pay what you want for a bundle of good games and help out charity along the way. I see absolutely nothing "shitty" about that.

I understand that Humble bundles might be new to you guys but surely you can see how people could be disappointed that HB are abandoning the some of the core tenets that made them so popular in the first place.

Tbh the formatting is super fucked up on my iPhone 6. It says the first 3 are free. Then it shows the pay 10$ more batch of games followed by the beat the average batch. Even though I know how HB works that threw me off for a sec. Desktop version of the site seems fine though, it's formatted as free -> beat avg -> $10 more.

Anyway... Went in all games here. Great deal.

That's quite the hyperbole. It is the first time they do it and they tried to work things out for other regions, but couldn't. So did it anyway.

If every bundle from now on is locked by region, etc. then yeah, but at the moment they're not abandoning anything.

Heck, considering the backlash they probably expected, it would've been easier to go with Sony or Microsoft; yet the first one ended been the "company that doesn't get how the internet works". :p

Humble Bundle hispters, oh God.

I saw the email and was amazed... Never in my live I would have dreamed about this happening...

I pay $10...

By the way, taking into account other Humble Bundles, we can expect at least 2 more games, to make it 10 games for this bundle, right?

Well, NCL and all of its branches deserve to be shat on for region locking content in the first place. I agree that NeoGAF is a bad place to make your case, but it's not like people haven't tried calling this to Nintendo's attention in the past.

This is best post. Let me go grab some tissues for you.

You do realize that the $X and $Y to unlock Z tiers have been going on for awhile right?

Even at the $_ tiers it's still a complete steal. And big publishers have been part of the HB scene for quite some time so i can only assume you are you complaining about the tier unlocks? Mad that you can't get 10 games for a penny anymore? Humble Bundle continues to dish out deals that are complete steals i don't see how anyone can be upset with saving money

I've been doing Humble Bundles since the first one. I don't recall them ever saying that they would always do DRM-free or no region locking. Just because the first few were does not mean that every one after has to follow suit.

Humble Bundle hispters, oh God.
Nothing to be hipster about. HB became shit a long time ago. Recent bundles not even close to the glory of 3, 4, 8 and 9. First Starbound abuse, now this. They are just another storefront nowadays, with not that great deals.

Around 15,300 bundles sold, more than $141,200 made. Average: $9.23

The bundles aren't as great as they used to be, but they're hardly bad.

I just think it sets a bad precedent for what they are willing do in the future is all.

Epic shitposting guys

There is nothing new here. The Origin-only Windows-only games of the EA bundle were sold a while ago...

I'd call console game bundles a pretty cool precedent. And while the region locking is pretty awful, it sounds like even a lot of people at NoA don't want region-specific bundles to be a regular thing.

Already posted? EDIT: Yep I'm late.

Apparently Nintendo wanted to make it global, and will "get there eventually". More bundles incoming?

There are other bundle sites that likely cater to your wishes. I don't know what dark vision you have of Humble Bundle in the future but I see nothing wrong with them catering to an audience outside of your own or my own.

The way Nintendo eShop codes work is they aren't region-free. So Nintendo shouldn't be allowed to do a bundle, then?

Looks like you can't buy the bundle directly from the eshop? Little inconvenient.

I don't see this ever happening. It's not like you can buy the regular bundles through Steam, and I'm pretty sure the mobile bundles are the same.

If you're disappointed that the bundle isn't currently available in your region that is totally understandable. However region specific sales aren't a new concept for consoles (see PSN) and I'm sure with patience or POLITE messages forwarded towards NoE, the bundle will soon open up to more regions.

If you're upset because of "principles" and "values" and "morals" then just LMAO. Drink some water, take a break and come back with a cooler, happier head. Because just LOL.

Humble Bundles are always purchased through the Humble Bundle website. It's the same for Steam, Origin, and Android bundles sold through the site. It's the way PC games are sold nowadays (Steam/Origin/Uplay keys being sold through multiple different reputable storefronts).
