Humble Nintendo Indie Bundle for the Americas

It's pretty fucked that Humble are embracing region locking like this.

It would really not be hard to give users the option to select what region their consoles are during the checkout procedure.

I am happy for Nintendo. I never though Nintendo was going to be the first console to do it. I predict Microsoft will be the next one to do it. And I dropped 10 bucks on it to support charity .

Just dropped $10 on the Spring Sale yesterday morning. Gonna get Guacamelee and Mighty Switch Force for a buck today.

I really should've jumped on the Humble Bundle train MUCH sooner.

While region locking isn't very humble, it's not the first time they've done so. I couldn't buy the Sega Bundle because I was in Japan at the time and Sega apparently gets confused if PC users attempt to give them money there.

Now you guys know how I felt when I couldn't even access the Humble SEGA bundle because I live in Japan.

If I didn't have a US WiiU I would miss out on this one too.

Region locking is evil.

#endregionlocking

Still I am proud of Nintendo for allowing this bundle at all. Baby steps...

Now this is probably a dumb question but can I buy the bundle now and activate the codes later this year when I actually buy a 3DS/WiiU and set up an account?

They don't like expire do they?

Reading some posts here, it's like region locking on 3DS/WiiU started with this bundle... Yeah, it's shitty, but it's nothing new. I don't really get why it's worth derailing this thread specifically.

Sucks ballz I can't partake in this.

But I applaud NOA for making this possible.

Everyone should put down $10 because the WiiU version of Stealth Inc 2 is AMAZING. A no brainer if you still haven't played Steamworld Dig (do it on 3DS, best version out there by far imo, tho I suppose you could still play it on the U with the map constantly on the gamepad).

Either way, $10 gets you so many brilliant games. So. Many.

Now please fuck the right off dear Nintendo, NOE and your asinine region lock and unwillingness to work out a deal with Humble Bundle for us eurofolks

Do these codes expire? I'm all over this, but I won't have access to my Wii U for several days - just want to make sure there's no redeem countdown once the codes are active. This is my first time using Humble Bundle!

Love the concept of it, though - and love the charity they support. This is such an awesome program. I sincerely hope my non-American brethren and sistren get this expanded out to them soon <3

I don't get the fuss. Aren't there region specific games and sales all the time? If Europe got a specific bundle, I can't imagine being as salty as a lot of people in this thread.

All the previous Humble Bundles have been globally available instead of exclusive to a single region.

There were cases where a game that wasn't available in a certain region was included in a bundle - in those cases, the affected regions got a replacement game.

You can actually redeem your codes online:

https://eshop.nintendo.net/redeem#/

If your Wii U isn't in sleep mode you can just go to the redownload page when you have a chance and DL the software. Cheers! :)

The site says more games are going to be announced, if I pay the $10 now will I get the games they have yet to announce as well, or should I just wait till all are out?

Definitely hopping on this at the $10 mark ... I have over half the games, but I give those to my nephew or someone on GAF. Plus, there are more games coming ...

Still need to setup a NNID first

Hmm so can you only set up a NNID from a 3DS or Wii U then?

You can create a Nintendo Network ID using either a Wii U console or a system in the Nintendo 3DS family. (Please note that a Nintendo Network ID is different from a Club Nintendo account.)

Because that means I'd still have to wait until I have one then.

I'll probably just bite as it's good to support these anyways and try my luck

Thanks for the help anyways!

I just had a scary thought.

One of the bonus games might be Meme Run.

It's not Humble Bundle. NOA put it together and couldn't get the other regions to agree.

I have a 3DS but no Wii U yet, can I activate these games later? I'm buying a U after E3, regardless of if there's a price drop.

Sorry if this has already been asked, I didn't see it.

Wow I've wanted Guacamelee for a while just never had a good opportunity to get it.

Will drop at least $10 to get everything though!

This is not true. I could not take advantage of the SEGA bundle because I lived in Japan and no alternate was offered.

But yeah, I still hate that people are missing out on this. I don't know if the best thing to do is be mad at Nintendo though. Fantastic deal with money going to a good charity that only part of the world can take advantage of is better than no bundle and no money to charity. If in the future NoE offers something similar just for Europe I will be very happy to see that even if I cannot partake.

I imagine Sony or PSN would have similar problems offering the bundle worldwide. The difference is that anyone can make an American PSN account, but I am not sure Sony/MS wants to encourage that more than they already do.

Sadly, no. I just tested with another WiiU codes, This can't be redeemable without link with WiiU console on your NNID.

Put my $10 in. I'll be giving away some codes later. I really wanted to support this one so we can get some more console bundles. At least if a Microsoft platform one is done it will be able to extend beyond the US without too much fuss.

It's specifically Nintendo of America that's responsible for this. And it sounds like they'd rather not keep future eShop Bundles limited to the Americas if they can help it.
