Innovative gameplay? Now what the hell are they talking about? Also immersive graphics? What the heck?
Though there are some points that do elevate Hyrule Warriors above the Dynasty Warriors games I've played:
(1) The music is way better
(2) The characters, while not so numerous, are extremely varied and no two characters play alike, they are very distinctive
(3) The big enemies are more fun to fight because they have some "strategic" element to them
(4) GamePad + TV for couch coop is a great match (maybe the Wii U Warriors game had that too, but I have not played that)
(5) There are no real stinker arenas, all arenas are quite well made and I've not seen any "barren" arena (the Warriors games I've played before did have some really bleh levels, but also more levels overall)
However, Hyrule Warriors still has the same overly mindless and unrefined gameplay (it doesn't help that I've been playing it alongside Bayonetta 2), loads of repetition and fake difficulty through too strong diligence-reliance (play the same levels again and again to level up your character and gain enogh material to earn new attacks in order to have a chance in the highest difficulty setting). It's very grindy and relaly has most of the weaknesses of the general Warriors series. It trades a lot of volume (in level, mode and character count) for some polish of what is there though, something I personally prefer but not everyone must like.
