I root for certain games to fail because I don't want more games like them

No Windows, no shader issues, games tend to load faster, no driver issues, runs better on a TV, everything works as intended, no messing around with mod instructions, more time for gaming.

Edit: There's probably a bunch of other stuff I'm missing too, like local co-op being more prevalent.
I have a living room PC booting directly into Playnite, I barely even see Windows and it works like a console but runs everything at far higher visuals than the Pro just fine on the same TV.

I just can't relate to the sentiment of "I don't like this, therefore, I don't want it to exists".

But things don't exist in a vacuum.
The thing I don't like is usually taking away resources and time from things I do like, or transforming things I used to like into things I don't.

I personally don't have an issue with a game like Dustborn. It's funny seeing it bomb, but overall I think the fact these people are opening up their own studios and making their own original woke games is great and should be celebrated. I can easily ignore Dustborn and it doesn't affect me, so in that sense I agree with you.

But when a studio and franchise I used to like, like Bioware and Dragon Age, get infected with this shit? Yeah that's when I root for it to fail and I hope it sends a warning signal to other studios going down this path.
When Sony games go from being some of the stuff I used to look forward to the most to a bunch of pink purple live service crap and games about angry manly lesbians with soy infused "modern" writing? Yeah I root for them to fail so hopefully Sony goes back to making the games I used to like again.
When a game I liked gets remade/remastered but it gets censored or characters get uglyfied? yeah I root for it to fail so hopefully the next studio making a remake thinks twice before changing stuff for "modern audiences"

I want the AAA games to be passion projects not checklist driven. Stop making what you think people want and create what you want. If its good people will show up!

Yeah, it's a nice attempt but not good enough for me.
It's not an attempt, I have both to compare, the Pro is puny toy from my perspective and I'm just not interested in such a downgrade anymore. So again, what should I root for here? What failure would pull Sony back to Steam again?

Each to their own, to me it just comes off as lipstick on a pig, but glad you enjoy it.

I'd imagine a lot of years will need to pass before they forget their past PC attempt, 20-30 years at best maybe?

Insane thread. I'm quite bewildered to see many agreeing with OP.

If you don't like a game, don't buy it and don't play it. It's so simple. No one is forcing you to buy it. If you don't like a game or a genre, there are many who do and enjoy and love.

More importantly, a video game is a product made by many people, and often these are contract jobs or remote requests which help a lot of talented artists, software engineers and similar in many poor or developing countries, They have to look after their families or old parents or just survive. Every major AA or AAA title or even indies buy/contract for art, assets and more.

Creating something is extremely hard and wishing for its destruction or even destroying is very quick and easy. Do you even realise that your favourite studio might just close down or file for insolvency due to failures? You will not get anything anymore.

Seriously unbelievably entitled opinion who is way too deep emotionally into video games or rather Playstation.
