If you find your kid watching porn?

Found my mom's porn stash snooping around her room when I was little.

It was actually an illustrated comic series about a black girl who was cursed by a witch, and was slowly turning into a plant every time she orgasmed. She had a pussy growing out of the palm of each of her hands. It was called Alraune.

She had all six issues.

She also had some old vintage porn cartoons and anime VHS tapes.

Found a big purple dildo too.

I can see why you have that picture now, blame the parents.

I don't truly understand porn myself

Like, how does it work? Are you supposed to get horny by looking at it, or are you supposed to imagine you are the person in it, or are you supposed to imagine you are the person doing the fucking to the other person, or are you suppose to visualize those scenes happening with you and your ideal partner; etc.
Amazing. I never knew porn could be hard to figure out.

11 and 12. There you go, that's gonna happen. Everyone that age is interested in the matter, but I personally didn't have the know-how or balls (literally and figuratively) to watch porn. I was too scared to google porn or tits or anything because it would show in the search results.

But those few pictures of almost nudes I did have, I treasured. When I got my own computer that's when I really started to watch porn and never really got caught.

So, it's understandable what they're doing and as awkward as it may be the best way to deal with this would be to talk about it with them and explain what porn is and how it represents sex etc.

I started at 10 (watching regularly. I might have seen something before). And Monday (we all saw a channel that after midnight during Friday-Saturday showed porn movies) me and my friends discussed it (Dragon Ball , Porn and Sports , the 3 Topics !) made fun of the noises , of the dubs , etc. I would have no idea what to say because i know when i was young the last thing i wanted would be someone talking to me about it.

Was surprised when in the Univ. i talked with other people and they were all like "oh remember when we started to see porn at 14 blabla".. no. I was a veteran by then.

I still remember going into clip art and searching for boobs etc in the hope that something would show up haha. I didn't know how to use the internet at the time.

As a parent I would tell them point blank that I know they've been watching porn, but that I'm not going to prohibit them from watching it (that will just shame their behaviour and suppress it). However, I would be very clear about some of the realities of the porn industry, such as how it can be exploitative of young women who need the money, same as prostitution.

I would also be clear about how porn is not representative of actual relationships and sex. That porn is usually overly misogynistic and degrading, and that it can set unrealistic expectations of what sex and relationships should actually be like.

Punishing and shaming them will only lead to other deep seeded issues, but they need to be educated.

Workaholics' stance on porn brain mush juice.

If I were 12, and you sat me down and told me all this, the entire time I'd probably just be thinking of robots or playing Call of Duty, and then proceed to go watch porn directly after because you talked about porn so much. I'm not sure a 10-12 year old would process this information in any meaningful way.

Or you could show/direct them to the good, non degrading stuff.
