IGN producer gets irritated after Harada tweet

Too grown ass men acting like fools. At least Harada rolled it back. Did the other guy?

But Lucky Chloe was mostly people going "Get this anime shit out of here" for Tekken, of all things.

His first look at the western response was someone tweeting him a GAF thread!

Can we at least agree this is a stupid sentiment, ESPECIALLY when talking about Tekken.

I've met Gav a couple of times and he always came across as a pretty sound guy. Plus he's ex CVG, extra brownie points for that.

Never met Harada, so don't really know what he's like, lol.

"Hey, is that For Honor Samurai costume going to be the same in Japan?"

"It doesn't matter because your poor birthrate means no one will be alive to play it, hahaha"

That didn't answer my questions. He wasn't saying Harada's opinion is garbage. He called him as a person garbage for saying it as well as his game and then you said he wasn't wrong.
Because if we assume Harada knew what people he was associating with, by using that term unironically, and it really seemed like that, that would make him quite "garbage".

Really, anyone who is okay with using Gamergate nomenclature as PR, basically, is kind of dumb. That term and anything with Gamergate at this point, is so loaded. Why would you want to associate your game with that?

I have met Harada and he comes off as a genuinely likable, fun guy.

I fully believe he had no idea what he was saying here but ignorance is not really a good excuse and now he's set a boulder rolling off in a bad direction that was completely fucking unnecessary.

Garbage game hu? Hmmm...In all seriousness that was just a bad look for both of them. The only people I can tolerate left at IGN is The Game Scoop cast and even then it depends. Jered Petty is to good for that place.

I'm struggling to see the problem with Harada's tweet.

Like, do people object to the term? It seems like a reasonable joke.

I don't like the term SJW

But even less I like the idea of costumes being removed just for a lower rating or so some groups of gamers can feel more included/comfortable

I like my female characters in fighting games to be sexy

Yeah, fuck what other people want!

Christ, people. Do you even listen to yourselves?

Bad form from both people, hopefully Harada didn't realise that blaming "SJW" for things like this is music to the ears of gamergate cunts.

The term is wrong, what he's referencing is western media. Look at the reception Lucky Chloe got over here.

What's the problem again? People didn't like the design, so what? As a developer, you have to understand a lot of people won't like your game, or characters. It's not like those things doesn't happen in Japan too.

And no one is arguing about taking you out your sexy females. Harada wa sjust projecting a non issue with his game. Reminds me of the stupidity of SO5 and that panties girl, where no one ever did complain.

I can't help but laugh at someone calling someone else and their product garbage when he has neither met the person nor played the game.

The IGN dude fucked up and his tweet is trash. But there's no truth in Harada's words (although I know it was just a joke).

I'll give Harada the benefit of doubt considering he's from Japan and doesn't understand the toxicity behind "SJW". He thought he was making a light joke.

Probably the only time GamerGate can be shown to actually having been right. Dismissing a game because of sort of an infighting agenda? Ridiculous.

Harada's comment is also pretty fire-stoking, even if he "corrected" it later.

To me these threads honestly seem like it's people who mainly visit OT vs. those who only visit gaming side.

I side with the OT folk more.

Yup.

You can't spell butthurt cringeman without IGN.

Guess Harada should've added at least four more 'HA's to his tweet to make it clear he was joking. Lashing out at someone with personal insults because they typed 'SJW' is embarassing... doubly so when you work in the gaming media.

Why not just inform Harada that his tweet was not a good idea in case he wasn't fully aware of what he was typing could get him into (as was apparently the case), and if he doubled down after that... then go to town on insulting him and his work to your heart's content?

I dunno, I think people bristle at the notion that a video game creator is whining that he can't include the anime titty in his game (even though he totally can!) because some people say the anime titty can be a little gross sometimes

I'm not sure what people are seeing wrong in Harada's Tweet?

If you do ask the SJW, and there are people who revendicate themselves as SJW so no it's not just a vitriolic term, what they think about said costumes they might say they shouldn't be included. So he's laughing it off..

I don't get why that's terrible?

Well, Harada immediately apologized for using the term, no? Doesn't that mean it's safe to say he wasn't quite aware what that term is usually associated with?

Else why use a term you knew carried such a connotation to it only to delete it and apologize immediately?
