It's a figure of speech to say that the Wii is between the two gen power wise. Like right now the Wii U is more powerfull than the 360 and Ps3 but less powerfull than the Ps4 and X1.

I don't want this to spiral out of control (so I shouldn't have even noted it at first, amirite?), so I'll just say that I disagree with the idea that video game console generations are determined by differences in power and I'll leave it at that.

I don't think I even played 100 games last gen.

same here, I think I'm around 60
and my list would even be padded with sequels (mass effect 1-3, witcher 1-2, etc)
and last gen games (Vampire Bloodlines, Nexus Jupiter Inc)

It doesn't invalidate shit. When you review a game for a site you it's just that one reviewer's personal opinion.

Besides if we really want to go there: Skyward Sword was an utter embarrassment and the most disappointing Nintendo game I have ever had the displeasure to play. I'm not sure it should even be in top 100 (and it says a lot considering I haven't even played 100 last-gen games).

I think you've nailed it (maybe I'd exchange Gears 2 for Wii Sports, as IGN has a soft spot for Nintendo)

IGN usually does the "expected", while Gamespot likes giving us surprises (like zelda ALBW being game of the year)

It's pitiful how low the rank of Halo 3 is. For a game that came along pretty early last gen and was very innovative and had such a large player base, IGN seems to have shit all over those facts. And Halo is a much fuller experience than whatever COD they they rank higher than it (besides COD 4) as it can be played for both its online multiplayer and campaign. Bungie did a great job of focusing on both aspects of the game and drew such a big crowd by delivering so well on both fronts. I guess IGN does not appreciate that...

I know people will disagree, but I think Halo 3: ODST should be in the top ten. It really was a brilliant game, with likeable characters and story along with rather great visuals and play.

Of course, I also really liked Reach. xD

The online on the Wii overall was bad overall so it's not really a problem with Brawl per say.

Mario Kart Wii worked just fine online. It was a problem with Brawl, not the Wii's online.

Surprised at where Halo 3 and Vanquish stand. Both were fantastic games.

I'm really hoping that Dark Souls is high up on that list. What a masterpiece of a game.

We all know where TLOU and GTAV will stand, that is, very close to the top. However, I feel the former is deserving, the latter not really.
