We are always interested in getting to know more people with the same hobby. If you share our love for Indies, let us know! We talk about anything Indie, want to talk about the block design in Braid? The character design in FEZ? Need recommendations? This is the right spot to ask! We'd also love to read more impressions :)

| 3.5 Quick Note about Formatting |
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you want to suggest a game that has recently released or that looks interesting, but hasnt released yet, please follow the following formatting structure so the post is picked up by Toma-Bot:
Released games:
TITLE - PRICE (PLAT)
LINK
DESCRIPTION TEXT
Not yet released games:
TITLE - PLAT
LINK
DESCRIPTION TEXT
Copy the appropriate content and add the proper information for the black writing. Please only include 1 link and 1 image. I tried making it a bit failsafe, so it should be able to deal with 2 links or images as well, but 1 is safer.
If the game is free, then put "Free" as the price, otherwise please use $ or € for the price. You can also include more than one game per post (like the Screenshot saturday posts), but please stick to the above format for every entry.
If someone posts a non-proper formatted post, I'd appreciate if you could repost the game with the same info in the proper format.
I noticed there are a few noteworthy, and relatively unknown, projects that deserve a shoutout here because I feel that they share a common interest with the people in this thread. I talked to the guy from Pixabyte and MetaVendetta and both are very enthusiastic about the things they love and figured you might appreciate the shoutout as well. If you enjoy anything here or want to give feedback, let these guys know via their websites or also here in this thread. If you appreciate something, let people know. A heads up can sometimes very valuable.
Isn't An Untitled Story 2008? Was it recently re-released or something?
Baddy recently discovered it, and I decided to add it because why not. Sometimes a little Nostalgia cant hurt :p
Watching the trailer for Rivals of Aether I, of course, immediatly thought it looked like some retro smash bros. No surprise since two of the devs are behind Super Smash Land.
Really looking forward to this one!
Oh and yo guys really have to give a go at Darkest Dungeon, it's out on the 3rd. 8 hours in, I'm in love with the game (so are all oher early backers it seems)
I beta tested the mobile version of iO and it's a really cool physics puzzle platformer. It takes a simple mechanic and crafts a lot of interesting scenarios and levels around it. Basically you can enlarge or shrink your wheel, this allow you to do things like brace against narrow corridors or push heavy objects around. Or shrink to build up speed on a slope and then enlarge to jump off, then shrink again to reduce your mass and travel farther through the air.
Wasn't sure if it needed the extra "
" at the end? If it does I'll edit it back in :)
Forgot to bring that one up--looks cute, got a demo to check out, didn't get too far yet. Is there a release date on that yet?
BTW it's closer to reverse-angry birds style defense, not sure where the dev got "adventure game" honestly. One of many I've been meaning to review but haven't gotten to yet. I got nothing all december (understandably) and a torrent of games in the last few weeks
I'd go with Besiege.. puzzles and sandbox fun for an excellent price ($7). It's early access but everyone I've seen who's tried it has loved it. It seems like a great game for creative solutions, along the lines of The Incredible Machine. Fun visuals and the developer seems in it for the long haul. Others have compared it to kerbal space program and the physics engine looks good.
Toma, fixed my blurbs for NecroDancer, Jazzpunk, and Sunless Sea and did one for The Floor Is Jelly. The only other game left that I've played is 1001 Spikes, but I don't think I've played it enough to write about it
I'm shocked it's only V0.02. It's that polished and well put together at the moment. The devs have been working on it since late 2013, and you can tell. It really doesn't feel like an alpha in terms of presentation and UI and overall feel, and I've played a lot of alphas and early prototypes and test builds. Content-wise, it's light, but it's so fun just building crazy stuff and experimenting with the already versatile toolset you have
Here's the main Besiege thread, I added some GIFs of GAF builds to the OP
So given that we're on the subjects of alphas and such, what was the worst game purchase you made in terms of it eventually being cancelled or not getting updated, etc.? For me, it was Rawbots. I had purchased it without checking the dev's Twitter or forums, and I later learned the error of my ways. How dead is it? The game's website actually finally shut down in December and before that, the devs hadn't posted in update in over a year
I'll go with Overture and Infinifactory since I havent played the others yet. Overture (currently 20% on Steam for another few hours even) looks a bit rough, but actually has quite a lot more going on than I first thought. For that game to gel, you need to be in the Binding of Isaac Roguelike mood with a bit of bullet hell thrown in.
And Infinifactory is just bliss. I love these games.
I'd bet there are more gems hidden in the OP this month, but it will take some days for someone to play them.
Also did we ever feature Blaze Rush?
Monthly update about Stardew Valley:
Marriage/Family life is nearly finished!
When you marry, your spouse will move in with you, say new things, and help you out on the farm. Each marriage candidate has some unique dialogue, so your experience will be slightly different depending on who you marry. Also, some spouses who have important jobs will continue to go into town and work after marriage.
Sometimes, your spouse will help out by watering a significant area of crops (if they can find any, that is).
family2big-1024x603.png
With the completion of Marriage/Family life, I’ll have finished with the vast majority of game content in Stardew Valley. From here on out, I’ll be tying loose threads, adding special touches, ensuring everything is cohesive, polishing, etc.
Stardew will definitely be released this year.
Thanks for reading!
I am not sure whether I have played any genuinely interesting/unique physics platformer lately. As soon as I played 100 of them, they all started to blend in.
Still trying it though.
Oh, didn't even see the username =p hi there. Good to know, hope it gets out of greenlight soon. I never know what's up with that. Enough games seem to bypass it altogether or get through in a month, some gets held up forever.
Just ranting here, but man, seeing the "Mobile gaming is a cancer and blight on gaming" attitude in that Super Bowl F2P ad thread is really frustrating. Imagine if everyone defined PC games or indie games by some crappy flash games they played. Considering that great indie games have thrived on the platform, like Monument Valley, 80 Days, Hero Emblems, Device 6, and so many more, seeing that mindset still, today in 2015, just really sucks
