I don't know anything about this game, but this gif looks pretty cool:

Toma, you around? I know you're somewhat of an addict, so you're the best person to ask. How does Europa Universalis IV compare to Crusader Kings 2? Would you consider it better or more engaging?

I was thinking of doing it tonight, but I am a bit too tired anyway. How about tomorrow night?

Toma, is there time for more games for the October thread?
I'll wait until tomorrow I guess, need some sleep anyway. Got a new task/position at work, which requires a complete rebuilding of all structures and is kinda draining.

Loving it though :)

I consider EUIV overall the best Paradox game, but all Paradox series have an aspect that is particularly striking and makes each individual game worth playing.

EUIV is a better overall strategy game when it comes to tactics and depth, compared to its accessibility, but CK2 is king when it comes to personality, traits and feeling like ruling your own sprawling dynasty with all its flaws and strengths. (Another example would be Victoria 2, which is the best in simulating the economic aspects, political parties and social struggles). I know plenty of people who prefer CK2, and I know plenty of people preferring EUIV, since its mainly about which aspect you value the most.

+1 for The Beginner's Guide.

Cant really say anything about it, neither should you read about it. Made from the Stanley Parable guy, but its quite different and yet... if you like kinda experimental stuff with a narrative, you might want to try it or at least watch a playthrough on Youtube (Its not long).

When will you guys post whatever you wanted to post?

Oh, my bad. Totally misread your reply. Thought you meant to wait till tomorrow for the October thread to post about the games

I'm hoping you guys could help me relocate a game I remember playing years ago.

This was around 2005 or so. I played a game on PC that was called either "Golf?" or "Golf!" and it was a golf game (duh) that used mostly vector graphic inspired shapes. You also had a golf cart that was rocket powered, the courses had ramps, and your caddy was a little hovering robot with a drinking problem and a photo of FDR's face as a head.

I remember playing a demo but not the full game. Is this game still around? I tried searching for it but the name is too vague and even with quotes Google only pulls up stories about real life golf.

Oh man, someone else remembers "Golf?" too! The game never really went any further than the original beta you played, but you can find the file on the site for their second game, "Hockey?".

Funny you post that, because Verreciel is Devine lu Linvega's next game.

Your post reminded me to make a post for To Burn in Memory, actually! Originally, Orihaus wanted to use Devine's Paradise engine for TBIM, but it lacked certain features he wanted so he built his own engine to support it instead.

I might have to find someone with an iOS device for me to confiscate for a while so I can play Verreciel. Some of his best experiments are locked to the platform and us Android users only have Hiversaires. ;-;

ThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYou! Oh man, I shouldn't have asked for this, I'm never going to get shit done now.

Verreciel is looking like his most game-y game yet. It's going to have NPCs and random events; you'll have to manage your oxygen and shields; you have to engage in combat and use items from your cargohold

And I hadn't seen Paradise before. So thanks for that!

Make sure you guys check out the Indivisible prototype when the Indiegogo campaign launches on Monday. It's the ARPG by the Skullgirls devs. I played through it (roughly around 40 minutes of gameplay), and had a really good time with it.

Some detailed information on the upcoming Indiegogo campaign, and their relationship with 505 Games: http://indivisiblegame.com/blog/64/

If we raise our goal of $1,500,000 or more, 505 Games will provide the remaining $2,000,000 we need to complete the game. So, effectively, up to the initial goal your contribution is worth more than double.

And the more we raise beyond the initial goal, the better the game gets and the better the publishing arrangement with 505 gets for Lab Zero.

To be clear, this is not a campaign to “gauge interest” – Indivisible’s budget represents a more equitable funding split, where your support directly influences not only the game, but also the post-release benefits Lab Zero receives.

More at the link above.

Why IGG? I always hate seeing promising projects fail terribly on IndieGoGo. Will the Skullgirls fanbase be enough?

Here's a quote from Ravidrath:

Their smaller cut and the speed is still important. The differences in take can still be, like, a whole person's salary for a year.

We're also going to get a lot of PR support from them, since they still really want to get a big game CF campaign under their belt.

I really hope it succeeds.

On IGG they don't need to wait until the end of campaign to receive the money if it's funded, plus they have lower fees than Kickstarter and IGG showed interest on featuring them since the SG campaign was one of the most successful on IGG.
