Any news on what the next PG Advent game will be?

The Journey Down: Chapter One, went free. I had it on my wish list, looks interesting.

Don't know. Doesn't appear to be any likely candidates showing up on AppZapp and The Journey Dowm came out in 2012 so despite it having a PG Gold award, it shouldn't be it if they're all for this year.

Might be another one like the first day where it was very late in the day before the app went free.

Slightly disappointed that there's only one quest in Hoplite (there's just the one, right?).

I mean, it's still very replayable and there's some different objectives using the same quest, but it does make me interested in seeing the idea expanded upon. I'd gladly throw some money at them now that I've seen the error in my ways, haha. Very cool game.

Frozen Synapse finally coming to iPhone on January 8th. Separate app

The already awesome Only One was updated with new enemies, new powers, new levels. Plus character classes IAP.

Unfortunately the dev said he didn't have any plans to expand the game

He did make another cool roguelike for 7DRL 2014. If you're interested:

The new Kingdom Rush inspired me to go back and finish up the old ones. Finally finished the campaigns on Hard and cleared up missing achievements. :)

I'm having troubles with the level with 3 paths... Arcane something something?

The lower left exit is always fucked, especially when those flying things that can multiply by ''eating'' men arrive...

Arcane quarters?

Yeah, you don't want too many barracks for that reason. The main thing is to not forget to move around the hero and the dragon to where they're needed, and stop as many enemies as you can on the top and far right islands. You probably mostly want the dragon swapping between those two rather than hanging out with the hero. Don't remember the exact tower setup I used.

Yeah!

All the levels before were quite easy but this one is giving me troubles.

I think I had like 5-6 barracks or something in my last try, perhaps a bit too much..
And the dragon I need to use more, sometimes I forget it's there even..
Oh well, just have to try again. :)

Guess I was wrong. The Journey Down it is due to Episode 2 coming out this year. Already had it from a previous drop to free.

I'm probably missing something obvious, but what exactly do you mean by quest? What would a different quest look like?

Hey guys, which is the best looking (graphical) iOS game right now? Going to set up my nephews new Ipad Air 2 today and I want to see how far things have gone.

You can try:
- Oceanhorn
- Asphalt 8
- Modern Combat 5
- Infinity Blade 3
- Battle Supremacy

And some impressive looking art-styles:
- Skyforce
- Monument Valley

I guess Bioshock and Xcom also fit that first category but they aren't full res and not that impressive compared to some other games.

Thanks. How does Vainglory hold up? I already saw that one. No interest in artsy games, just want to see tech.

I almost included Vainglory in the list and it is technically impressive but it's from a top down perspective so you see less details.

Oh and I forgot Real Racing 3 which is still quite impressive.

If you enjoyed Pako, got good news for you

More enemies, different scenarios, new heroes, another objective (instead of return de Fleece or go as far as you can go), improved skills and so on.

I'm on the same boat as Heel, it's an awesome fun little game, but that's all it is: little. Without enough content or diversity for my taste to justify returning or going after the achievements.

Anyone grabbed papers, please yet? I have it on PC but never played it, and iPad spounds ideal for it. Just want to check if it is a good version and whether it suits a tablet interface.

It is a good version and it does more than fits, it feels like it was made for a touch interface. Don't hesitate, go for it!

Oh and the nudity is coming back next week.

Game's out on Steam too, and I bet it'll come to IOS eventually like Mutant Mudds

I wouldn't be so sure. Mutant Mudds needed 4 buttons, Xeodrifter needs 8 plus button combinations, and the lack of the second screen will make things clunky.

Though if it did, it would be very very nice.

Two PC ports on the same day? And on a Friday?! Must be a record

Craft The World: Pocket Edition

^^^ oh dear, I love Craft the World on PC!!! Instabuy.

Speaking of earlier comments initially praising it, Seabeard is a needlessly grindy pos too... if this game was just premium, I'd love it. That art style is amazing. But it's ruined.

MEGATON: Boobies and ding dings returning to Papers, Please

Lucas Pope @dukope

Just talked to Apple. The initial rejection for porn was a misunderstanding on their part. They suggested I resubmit with the nudity option.

I'll make an update to restore the nudity over the weekend (default to off) and it should be available next week.

and a post on NeoGAF

I've never played it. How would it compare to Junk Jack, Terraria?

My main concern is going to be controls. That genre doesn't always translate well to touch controls. But considering it's a "pocket edition", I assume they worked to make the game contol well on mobile

Oh and
Pocket Edition contains all the features of the Steam version

Oh and
It actually felt built for touch from playing it on PC... You don't actually control each dwarf individually, you click what you want to do and it assigns them to that task.

Just played a little bit of it. It's pretty amazing just from the little I've played.

Feature complete with the Steam version = no brainer

Simple Rocket is a lot of fun. Is Kerbal Space Program way more difficult, or is it more of a logical progression?
