Interesting point. That might be a neat idea if they do it properly, tbh. That said, I don't necessarily hate all woke games so this wouldn't be a total dealbreaker for me, but I think you're overlooking another sign that this is probably one. Some of these people (including men) seem to have the idea that because they're not into men, it's impossible to imagine how any woman could be. It must be evil social conditioning that's stopping every woman from being free.

I mean if those are indeed the story points...kinda just sucks "wokeness" or not.

Don't really have much interest in playing a person that does something like that, unless it's an interesting redemption, and the bullet points of that are pretty lame...you just play as a fucking douchebag loser I'm actually rooting against through the whole arc.

The gameplay does matter more, but the unraveling the story is what adds value to the loop over time.

Not sure how nobody mentions it but it is implied (or at least can be easily inferred from ambiguity) that Arjun had a gay romance with Sebastian and they shagged while drunk, so then he killed him throwing him out if the hotel window to hide it when Sebastian threatened to tell his wife. That was at least my reading if it while playing and thought it was totally unnecessary and cringe.

As opposed to everything else OP mentions in the quoted tweet. I mean if that shit gets you upset to call the game "woke slop" you're just damaged beyond repair. There is nothing in the game about her "finding him cheating", but rather being a drunk douche and then possibly murder suspect. "The character is indian" and oh no A BLACK LESBIAN! Really?

None of this shit matters to me….the only reason I'm not in to this game because I despise roguelike as much as gacha game and hate the fact most devs obsess with it.

I hope for the game's sake that isn't an influencing factor here. The concept done right could be good, but being driven by stupidity rarely does anyone any favours.
 
I'm going to take away the race and genders of the spoiler tweet and show it below, then can someone tell me how this plot description pushes woke messaging:

>You play main character
>MC cheats on married partner
>MC then murders friend to cover it up (and gets away with it)
>MC's partner finds out about the cheating and leaves anyway
>MC then dies thousands of times in a delusional quest to "rescue" partner who left to force forgiveness
>The game ends with MC's partner falling in love with a another crew member
>MC gets told to fuck off and let the new couple be happy...

Because to me this just sounds like the plot to an edgy 2000s sci fi movie.
 
This is the state of actual Sony, so I don't even know why act surprised about. Enjoy the awesome gameplay and take your lecture, or skip the game and play something else.

Yeah that is a great fan fiction story you created but the truth is different, if the genders didn't matter then we wouldn't have wokism at all in media or society in general
 
Im so dissapointed for saros. I hate it why sony PS does this imposing rainbow and leftist agenda, most of the time to its exclusives this days. Instead of enjoying the graphics and gameplay, you have to dread the obligatory woke and dei activities, symbols and lecturing. This leftist agendas are force and obligatory, unskippable, thats why it sucks. I miss OG Sony PS. the time the head quarters was still in Japan. Ryan and hulst and California have been a poison. Only gt7, astrobot and semi exclusive stellar blade and death stranding are clean and decent. Now im worried about wolverine but i still hope it will be clean without all that leftist and woke agendas, trangenderism, and pronouns crap.

I don't see any brainrot messaging. Just a very bad soap opera. Which will be vaguely obscured by actual brainrot in the vein of a illusory world you play through similar to Returnal.

To be fair the actual story of Returnal is pretty lame as well once you put all the pieces together and has everything to do with guilt, mental illness and regret.

If the story turns out to be as described it will succeed in making As the World Turns look amazing.

It's not a 'fan fiction story' all I did was copy the text that you posted, remove both things I said I would remove, and then paste.

Now, for comparison's sake, take the 'Barv' scene from Dragon Age and try to do the same. It isn't possible, because that scene actually has a social message embeded within it.

That is the difference here.

I'm actually trying to meet you halfway here because you're losing control of your own thread. I could have easily trolled or posted a meme gif, but I figured I'd be fair and instead point out the glaring difference between something that is written to insert an actual social message and something that isn't.

What is described in the OP isn't a social message, it's just a basic plot with shitty people and sci fi sprinkled on top. I just proved that.

Not that it needs it, because Gonz seems to be dead set on dying on a hill made of racism, but to add to this the "Man tries to fix marriage but he's a train wreck and she leaves him for another woman" is a storyline I've even seen on In Sickness and in Health.

That might not mean much to a lot of people, but it's an Alf Garnett program where the ones they do still show on tele are bleeped because of frequent usage of words that fall somewhat short of being politically correct.

I don't care about the main character's nationality at all. I have friends and colleagues from all kinds of backgrounds, and I treat everyone the same. What bothers me is how the male lead is portrayed as the villain (male bad), and then the story ends with his wife choosing a woman. That's what raises red flags for me. It feels like Sony is pushing the same gay fucking agenda direction in everything, and it gets tiring.
 
Btw, character Nitya hooks up with after leaving Arjun is not the one posted in the tweet. Her race is never disclosed nor discussed in the game. Did someone mention an agenda?

Look at the profile and the other tweets. This person's every other tweet is a side by side comparison of a white person and a black person - real or CG. This is a "white erasure is real" type of individual.
 
I wish I could have this much fun just by being angry at any new game that releases. Unfortunately I can only have fun by playing them which is much more expensive and time consuming. I really do envy some of you.

I'm never playing the game b/c no PS5 and no interest in roguelikes anyway, but let me get this straight.

Are some people trying to say that playing a minority and being the ultimate simp dying thousands of times to get a woman and having a blast®️ doing that, only to get cucked by a woman in the end, isn't the Redditor's dream?
 
Soodanim Soodanim I wrote and deleted a response post about 5 times now, including a breakdown for why that arson/fire analogy post doesn't make sense and looks 2x worse for the person who posted it, but it just isn't worth it.

Some of the posters in this thread are right and it's better to just leave some people alone as they continue to endlessly scan every single corner of every game's release to look for the tiniest of reasons to get upset and not play them. There's a lot of hypocrisy there if one thinks about it for a bit, but it's not on me to point it out and be met by deaf ears.

I've made my point above, so there's not much else for me in this thread.
