True but it makes the reaction kind of useless. I have already explained that the fact I don't like Thor is merely based on a feeling he does not belong with Spidey and the rest.
I have also stated there might be 'rational reasons' there is a Universe where they do belong together but that it still won't change the feeling I have.

i stopped liking stark during the armor wars. it took him a while to become a more compelling character, only to be trashed by civil war.

which makes me despise marvel even more in that regard. dont have him redeem himself for his actions during civil war. have him wipe his memories clean so to tony, he never did them!

yeah, i'm just going by the films too, but as soon as stark returned from the middle east he spent all his time building the iron man suit (hence why he almost got killed by jeff bridges, for neglecting the company and making him throw a hissy fit)

he's more interesting in being rich than staying rich. meanwhile, bruce wayne is like a genius, so he ain't gonna lose money any time soon

Off topic here but coming from someone who rarely reads comic books I need a question answered. Recently I've been getting into X-Men, and one of the most common issues they seem to face is how the public is essentially anti-mutant. Yet other heroes from the Marvel universe like Spiderman or the Fantastic Four seem to get idolized. Are they not the same thing? I'm no comic book buff so correct me if I'm wrong here, but Spiderman's power comes from DNA mutation via exposure to a radioactive arachnid, and the Fantastic Four are pretty much the same deal except with a magical space wave or whatever. How can citizens in the Marvel universe hate the X-Men but adore these other heroes? In fact how would the even know these other heroes weren't X-Men style mutants? It becomes even more confusing when they have these cross over issues where everyone teams up to stop the big bad thingamajig and everyone receives praise except the X-men.

Do they ever explain this, or is this one of those "LoL comic book lore" moments?

Well one, the people answering this question, how would a normal person watching the news or seeing them in action in person be able to tell who is a mutant and who isn't? To me everyone is a filthy mutant/

If we were to think about living in the Marvel universe, the difference between a Spiderman/FF and X-Men is that both all five of the former are much more recognizable than the X-Men. There have been so many mutants in and out of the team how could you remember them all? Further, there are so many 'mutants' running around being dickheads and fucking shit up, how do i know they aren't part of the X-Men vigilante group? That's how I'd think of it.
