Is the Hulk the cheapest comic book superhero ever?

Sorry for the insane size, but this was the part where Odin finally gets back at Zelia for keeping him in chains and bitch slapping him for 12 issues:

Nate Grey is one big deux ex machina.

and i love him for it. cellular reconstruction after spreading himself around the world. powers are hacked as fuck.

I don't understand Flashpoint. Is it totally separate from DC's reboot/issue restart thingamajig?

Is this Barry Allen before the whole do-over or is he part of the new universe?

He looks like he should shopping at Hot topic and listening to The Cure.

Have you been in a Hot Topic recently? I did over the weekend. They've rebranded. They're now neon colors and Lady GaGa.

It shook my world to the core.

Speaking of clones and organs...what about Joseph?..Magneto's clone?..he was pretty powerful in a time where marvel was actually fairly conservative with their character's powers.

Yeah, but unfortunately his cloned body couldn't handle the extreme energies he had to channel to repair the damage to the Earth's EM field that Magneto had caused...so he discorporated.

Slightly off topic, but whos more OP, Jean Grey and Cyke's son, Nate(it is Nate right?) or the Fantastic 4 kid, Franklin(once again it is Franklin right?)?

Are they not around the same level of "WTF, Really?" level?

They always show Franklin Richards as being this ungodly powerful and unstable character. Of course, in the awful Days of Futures Present, Franklin Richards and Rachel Summers were lovers. If those two had a kid it would be the king of overpowered characters.

yeah i got that issue..i love alan davis. Aside from having a shitty clone body he was supposed to be more powerful then magneto. I recall in uncanny when he exploded or..whatever the hell he did he apparently moved the earth or reversed its magnetic polarity or some shit. That was pretty cool.

I might be beating a dead horse here, but Rob Liefeld's pencils cause me pain everytime I see them. I've heard he's a nice guy, but how the hell does he keep getting work?

I'll be honest, when I started this thread, I thought it was gonna be swarmed by an army of dickbags saying nothing but "HULK SMASH" thoughout.

I was wrong. And this thread has been highly informative. I want to take everyone out for frosty chocolate milkshakes!

.......Wait......WAIT! You mean Mr. Fantastic and Jean Grey had a kid?! LOL NOPE! Not even humoring that one for a gosh darn second and im a complete casual comics fan. Who did that? I would like to know so I can kill them with a rusty set of cutlery.

Same thoughts here! This thread has reinvigorated my interest in comics.

Keep up the good work lads and lasses!

No, sir.

Franklin Ricards, not Reed.
Rachel Summers, not Jean Grey.

And Jean Grey is the powerful mutant if you take her at her peak (White Crown Phoenix).

Why the fuck are comic books so god damn confusing and inconsistent?

This is why I preferred anime and manga as a kid. One timeline, one attribute and status per person, one canon.

I haven't read any comics for a while (too rich for my blood), but some poster in this thread put it as: just follow the writers/arcs you like instead of worrying about the continuity.

I'm still confused as to whether Magneto is good or evil right now. Granted, I haven't read comics in about a year now but he's one hell of a flip-flopper.

I'm still laughing at your reaction to the engima force. It was perfect.

He follows Cyclops now, and depending on your feelings of current Cyke he can be good or evil.

i dont understand why a child born of two different mutants would inherit those powers multiplied by such a strong degree. Should there not be only one dominant gene that decides what is inherited? whether it is the mother's or father's, not a combination of the two.

Exactly. Pick one side, and if he's not that now, he'll revert to it in a year or so.

One sea change was more than enough.

Mr.Sinister answered this kind of in the comics. The Summers mutant gene is unusually good at energy channeling. Combining it with another mutant gene will enhance the second gene to crazy amounts.

Reminds me of the idea I had in the late 90s. If you ever wanted to take out any threat in the Marvel U, just get the entire Summers family and gene pool (at max power) together and put Sync in the middle of the group. That should be sufficient power to stop nearly anything.

Even Vulcan? Since he is already Omega Plus.

I've never considered him "evil", he's more or less a freedom fighter with mutant superiority complex.

It's like calling V evil.

omega plus? the hell?
When he first showed up Emma classed him as Omega Plus. Problaby because he was absorbed the powers of his dead teammates, sharing his body with Darwin, and mainlining M-day energy. He corrects it later by saying he was just omega level while beating the shit out of Black Bolt.

He isnt a villain imo.. he believes that mutants are superior to humans and should rightfully be the dominant species. He has done some 'bad' shit as well as lots of 'good' shit. He definitely isn't a villain in the same vein as say Thanos.

That sounds recent. But, was Black Bolt not killed by Hulk on the battle on the moon pre WWH? I also recall some recent hype about the return of Black Bolt.

Yep, plus they're mutants... their dna is pliable, some more than others. There can be multiple mutations spontaneously, like Emma Frost's diamond form... or when a specific event triggers it, like when Polaris gained height, strength, and invulnerability when Zaladane took her magnetic abilities.

Or... it's a comic book ;-)

Nope, Hulk didn't killed that Black Bolt( he was an impostor anyway). After WWH, and Secret Invasion, the real Black Bolt takes the Inhumans into space and they ended up conquering the Kree. Currenting Black Bolt and Vulcan are MIA.

So that was his obsession with Scott and Jean in the cartoon. It would always seem like there had to be a better male. A mutant with amazing regeneration, another with amazing telepathic abilities, yet Sinister wants the guy that needs to glasses to control his so-so optic blasts.

Yeah, Sinister has actually been following the Summers and Grey's bloodlines since the 1800s.

I will guess Franklin and Rachel are the next of kin of the people I mentioned?

oh yea i forgot about this...(although it was fairly recent and he didn't really do much...but the implications)

Dark Phoenix Wolverine!

Still don't get this distinction in the context of the fight. Fake Black Bolt still managed to blow off a chunk of the moon large enough to cause a tidal wave on earth. That was no pantywaist shot Hulk took the second time around.

Franklin is the son of Reed and Sue Richards. Rachel is the daughter of Scott Summers and Jean Grey. Both of which are supremely powerful psionic talents already. (Franklin's so dangerous with his reality warping powers that he's been lobotomized by Reed, killed etc to keep a lid on how cheap he really is.)

If you have doubts, you need to read more of Thor and The Avengers stuff.
Thor and Herald Silver Surfer are considered the two strongest superheroes in Marvel...and the fact that Thor has bested The Silver Surfer puts him on top in most peoples books.

Which current Marvel hero do you think would actually best Thor?

Note. The Sentry is gone so he doesnt count anymore.

Thor is the lamest character in Marvel.

Characters that should be able to beat Thor easily (partial list):

Hulk
Silver Surfer
Spiderman
Magneto
Wolverine
Jubilee
