The last episode of Life really sucked. Awful ending. :/

Ugh, that's bad =X I'm waiting for the subs. But it's bad in the "badly done" way and not the "sad ending" way, right?

I may start the manga.

; ; Who by? The only other option I see is a) apparently really poorly subbed and b) so old I can't get hold of it within a decent amount of time. >.>;; Maybe it would take less then a year, but, yeah........
Hmm, yeah I now remember it being subbed in Chinese and poor English. The combo of poor English and my Japanese skills did the trick though.

I could use another show to watch, but it'd have to be funny.

Mao is hot... I wish her new show, "First Kiss" was at least half as good as Hana1 or 2 was :(

Yeah, First Kiss sucks, but shes even hotter in it than she was in hanadan1 or 2. Oh well, at least the theme song is cool.

Hana Yori Dango was a great Shoujo manga... enjoyed all iterations of it, including the manga, the anime, the taiwanese live drama adaptation named Meteor Garden, and the j-drama version.

I don't know if the actor for Domjyouji was the right choice. On one hand, if you compare him to the manga, he bears a striking resemblance. OTOH, the manga had domyouji as the strongest and biggest of the quartet... in the j-drama, he's the smallest and most effete looking!

Dunno why you guys are gushing over mao... she played a great tsukushi; because she looks so damn plain (like she's meant to be... actually, the manga/anime version, tsukushi looked decent from time to time). But... she's more like a sister figure than the obviously cute/hot girl dressed and made up poorly for plot purposes... like Nodame.

hmm yeh i loed the manga aswell
domyoujis choice for actor was kinda puzzling but it worked
the first series jdrama was orite
but the second series is horrendous dont bother with it

To each their own... I really think Mao is beautiful, in a cutesy way... but Misaki Itoh is HOT in a god damn have my kids, sort of way...

I think... lol.

I'm happy to see this is back. Except that its way too fucking big.

It's not a jdrama, but anyway, a friend just gave me a copy of Swing Girls, I heard about it the other day, looks like a fun movie. I'll watch it today.

Bengoshi no Kuzu!

Great show. Kuzu is a wonderful character.

Just started Hana Yori Dango 2 last night. It's as bad as ever, but I can't stop watching. Mao Inoue is great, her reactions are hilarious :lol...

im bumping this just to ask if there are any new good shows that started to air.

I dont think it is worth a new thread.

ill check it out.

I will also check out Hataraki Man, I didnt know they started drama based on it.

Yeah, I haven't seen it yet, I think it comes on tonight? I've been wanting to check it out.

Hataraki man rocks hard. I recommend this. Personally I enjoy the manga a lot more than the TV show (I prefer manga over most TV shows just because of convenience though) but both are good stuff.

it is good to hear Hataraki Man is good, I thought the anime was pretty good.

and another thing I am checking out is Dream Again, the premise behind it sounds like that Chris Rock movie where he dies and goes into a rich guys body.

after watching 3 episodes of Dream Again, it isnt bad. Very cheesey, like even more than the standard series, but it has its moments. Plus, it has training scenes for baseball all over the place, that is always fun.

So the international channel here is playing "Time Limit Detective", and I came into it at episode 5. Does anyone know if this is based on a manga? Some of the sequences are bizarre enough that I think it kinda has to be.

I cant believe this thread was revived.

I might as well say my thoughts on the full Dream Again just incase anyone is interested. Well, it has a terrible ending that ruins the entire series, thats all there is to say about that.

oh, and the Honey and Clover drama is tomorrow I think.

I'm not watching anything right now... I was thinking of starting either...

Dragon Zakura
Kekkon Dekinai Otoko

Any suggestions?

Watching it now. It's pretty good, they changed a bit from the manga\anime, but I guess that was cause this is the 4th version of the story.

Dragon Zakura sucks. Overly dramatic and cheesy. You have been warned. Try out Papa to Musume no Nanokan for laughs. Tiger&Dragon is best jdrama evar
IMFO
, so get it before it's gone!

Overly dramatic and cheesy are words to describe most j-drama.

and Dragon Zakura isnt bad, but it isnt very good either. It does have some painfully bad scenes and the ending is kind of weak for the most part.

Beck live action wouldnt work too well unless they got people that spoke perfect English for a few roles. That's what kills the anime, the Japanese broken English is horrible. And funny. Unintentionally.

Super Rookie is the best drama ever. It's Korean though (K-Dramas are better).

Dragon Zakura is dope just because both leads are dead sexy. Plus that one drummer kid is cool. he should be in more stuff.

"Super Rookie is the best drama ever. It's Korean though (K-Dramas are better)."

Yeah right. I watched Full House and Sang-Doo Let's Go To School, and they were both cruddy.

which drummer kid? I know the guy who played Otani in the lovely complex movie played guitar and the main student character who was a super pimp played trumpet.

why are these japanese dramas sooooooo damn cheesy????
i mean their films aint that cheesy why does every drama have to be a corny cheesy mess.

i still love some of them though.

there are a lot of them that are based on manga, so I think that is part of the reason.

Honey and Clover was alright, I still dislike Hagu in the translition from animated to real actors.

I do think Yamada is pretty good casting, the only thing I have a big problem with is Hanamoto with a cigarette in his mouth looks goofy. Also, I dont really like how they use a shot that has the character on the very left or the very right of the screen so often.
