Have you looked under download history? If you had the app at one time you should be able to redownlaod it.

If the person has invited you, you won't see any confirmation for a few days when you'll get an Xbox message. After that, you accept it and wait another few days.

You have to make them friends and then use the app to invite them. It's one of the tiles within the Preview App.
