This movie looks entertaining. Folks are trying a little too hard to hate. Sure, it's a question mark, but nothing I've seen suggests this will be terrible. And that mutant Dino looks badass.

I think it looks very mediocre.

Honestly? Probably the only thing I like about it is the pretty red head (Bryce Dallas Howard). :3

Are the mountains from before something real that you could recognize if you lived in Hawaii?

I don't think people want it to be bad, but I do think that some have built this impenetrable fortress that the movie had absolutely no chance of cracking regardless of its quality or direction. It's too bad that this wasn't about Jeff Goldblum going back to the island for some shitty, arbitrary reason yet again because Jeff Goldblum is what Jurassic Park is all about I guess.

I don't even know if it's that because, hell, I'd like to see Grant and Ellie there too, of course, but this movie looks cool and the concept is... wonderful. An up-to-now successful park with trained dinosaurs and genetically engineered "new" dinosaurs? That's both a fascinating and logical place to go with this series. Much more so than a JP remake.

There's been a ton of ire over no returning characters besides Wu, but I agree with Trevorrow that Jurassic Park isn't about the bad luck of the same people. I'm totally fine with none of them returning. I think it would've been too forced and even cynical and I can't fucking stand "oh man I've been here and have seen some shit" stuff. It was bad enough in the third movie with Grant and all the damn annoying wink wink nudge nudge crap.

"We probably won't get off this island alive..." *wry smile*

There's big hobbyist communities who already hybridize snakes, lizards, turtles, and crocodilians. It'd be a cool idea if dinosaurs were alive today as to what extent closely related dinosaurs like theropods could interbreed and and what results you could get. Of course I know that's different from genetic engineering in a lab.

I don't get the bike scene.

Are the raptors helping him out?
I find it hilarious how people can't wrap their heads around the Raptors being trained/domesticated. They aren't like his pets, but even if they were the entire franchise has set them up as being super intelligent.

This actually kinda changed my opinion on the movie. They're going full-on dumb action movie instead of trying to actually make a picture with a meaning behind it, so it'll probably work out alright.

It's actually still about the main concepts in Jurassic Park. If anything the second and third movies are the dumb ones without anything to really say. This movie goes back to the concept of not having a full grasp over what they're doing in favor of trying to wow tourists and thinking they can control this stuff. And they actually are until the park attendance begins to decline so they make erratic decisions. It absolutely does have meanings and themes, but this was a short trailer to market the film. You're not going to get the meat of the entire story in it.

You might have a point if part of the premise wasn't taming raptors to be your special strike force.

It's Jurassic Park so I'm hyped, but as much as I love the series even I gotta admit that the CGI looks.. eh. Hopefully it's better in the final cut.

Day 1.
Looks good, not as good as the 1st 2 though.

Love how Pratt is some kind of ranger character and the whole hunting theme.

That doesn't change the principals of what I'm saying. we still have very little context concerning the raptors and that's kind of important and impossible to logically use as an argument as we know close to nothing about it.

Well forgive me for not giving them the benefit of the doubt then, since (as you said) the last two movies were absolute garbage.

Fair enough but it's a completely different project from those, and I'm glad it's not just a returning character going back again because someone's lost or stuck.

Jurassic Park was the first film I saw as a kid at age 11 in 1993 at the cinema and seeing these trailers is giving me the kind of goosebumps I got when I was watching JP, I was tingling at the very short flash of the helicopter entering the island the same way they did in the first film.

I wasn't sold on the trained raptors but I can't get enough of this trailer.

Day one I will be at the cinema with my 3D specs ready.

looks effing terrible

I'll try to stay open minded, but damn.

They used CGI on his right hand to do a hand signal to the raptor? It looks awful.

It's hilarious how many people here have fallen for this gif. And the sad part is, they often don't come back after someone corrects them which means they probably still think this is actually going to be in the film.

So they edit out the bridge from the first trailer, does that make those parts of trailer 1 totally worthless? As I assaume now those scenes would not make sense co dieting the bridge is gone.

Almost makes me think there's no point in early trailers if the cgi will change dramatically when it's released.

I'll see it anyway as I love JP and my kids are hyped as hell for this thing.

Apparently, some shots in the first trailer were only produced for that trailer and aren't in the actual film itself. That CG gate for example that people keep complaining about is supposedly practical in the film.

Hell there was a shot in the teaser of the crowd running that had no CG and the same exact shot in this trailer had CG dinosaurs. CG shots are ever changing and being tinkered with during post.

I liked the first trailer more than this one. That dino wrangling stuff really makes me fear they are jumping the mosasaurus with this one.

padampam tjing!

It's strange in this day and age that we can now expect that trailers are always cuts from work in progress vfx. Just goes to show the insane schedule and crunch that vfx artists go through.

i thought i'd be hyped going by the premise and how GOAT the first was (and even the second had some cool stuff tbh) but these trailers are just underwhelming to me

a better director might have helped? maybe. the spotty CGI and bad marketing aint helping for sure though.

We are going to go see it, it has been so long since we watched a...oh wait Dawn of the Planet of the Apes...fuck it, so going to watch it. Yah it doesn't seem like it is gonna be anything special but it looks like it will be a solid brain dead-fun movie.
