JURASSIC WORLD to invent fictional 'DARTH DIABOLUS REX' as new threat

"Dream up new ways to keep customers coming back"?

Since when are DINOSAURS not enough to entertain people?

EDIT: And why is it that this creature gets the BEST abilities from each dinosaur? Why can't he get t-rex's arms, the raptor's size, a snake's vestigial back legs, and a tentacle from the cuttlefish? No, he get's the perfect blend of DNA. Bull.

Why the hell would they put the cuttlefish in? Why?
Who the hell's going to go to a park to see an invisible dinosaur?

Hahaha this.

Also, if they wanted an invisible dinosaur for this movie...why didn't they just use the camouflaging allosaurus from the second book? That would be significantly less stupid at least.

First image I could find:
mh3u-black-diablos-1.jpg

I would hate to be the game warden for a park with a Black Diablos as one of its attractions.

They don't want kids looking at their iphones instead of the dinosaurs. Gotta keep them hooked somehow, and what better way than a superpowered monstrosity to keep attention-addled kids on their toes.

The park owners recognized the appeal of visiting the cheetah habitats in zoos where you spend 10 minutes looking for the thing then leave in disappointment without a single glance.

Well the chameleon/carnotaurus FINALLY make it onto the screen after four freaking movies.

And Jurassic Park was full of freakish stuff. Like 12 inch hyper aggressive wooly mammoth.

Of course. They never intended it to be a dinosaur movie to begin with, apparently.
Yep.
This sounds like the dumbest thing ever.
The JP movies are pretty much "fantastical mythical monster" films at this point.
Hopefully some ambitious director is willing to make a dinosaur thriller with up to date scientific information.
:p

There's gonna be an invisible dinosaur in this movie?

Believe it or not, it's a holdover from the novel of The Lost World. JP engineers filled in a carnotaur's DNA with some strands of chameleon, which gave it a very powerful camoflauge effect.

Satanosaur

Sauronodon

Hitlerotops

Genghiskhanotaur

Just some other names I came up with. I think they're just as valid, and certainly no less stupid.

Camouflage ability? Everything about that sounds dumb.

no wai its gonna be amazing just picture this: the love interest chick is fleeing with her top half-off or whatever and then oh hey! she's totally safes now and she starts walking and breathing a sigh of relief while almost crying because it was scary and then ohmigod! behind her there's like this eye opening and we can see it but she can't yet it'll be super cool man just trust me on thsi

There was nothing in the second book to indicate that the Carnotaurus had been meddled with at all, it was presented as an innate ability of theirs.

They had better acknowledge the complete absurdity of doing this in-universe. This had better be the result of the scientist saying "Nooooo!!!!! Hey nooo!!!" but corporate executives forcing them to do it to improve profits, hype in order to meet ridiculous profit/sales expectations in face of the history of Jurassic Park in that world. Like in the real world. That's the only this works as a story concept and likely will be accepted.

it would take some RoboCop levels of satire to make this work

Why though? It's not like Trex/spino werent dangerous enough.

On the flipside, the dino's in JP don't really resemble real dinos anyway (plus have frog dna and shit) so it's not that much of a strech.

Name is so comic book tho.

*jack horner pushes together action figures of Spinosaurus and Diabolus Rex*

They're friends!

Having the geneticists experimenting with dino DNA is like in the original. So it's like poetry, they rhyme. Every stanza kind of rhymes with the last one. Hopefully it'll work.
