Just Cause 2 Official Thread of PC Superiority --> Multi-Grapple Enabled

We as a race have reached our peak.

Multi-grapple is a hack that is currently available for the demo. I tried it out, it's amazing. I tethered a helicopter to a mountain like a crazed beast. Also, I tethered two helicopters together, then hijacked one of them. Then, when mine was blown out of the sky, I watched the other wrestle futilely with the controls as the wreckage pulled him down.

How, where, what?!?

Official Thread of Riding Gas Canisters, Infinite Parachutes and BO-LO SAN-TO-SI.

I like it. Bolo Santosi makes me think of the fake alias used by Ed Exley in 'LA Confidential': Rolo Tommasi.

This is a perfect example of how a well designed and well timed demo can really help out a game's sales. I don't think I'm alone in this, but before the demo, I had no interest in this game. At all.

Came into this thread to post this. I had no real interest in this game previously, but after watching some of the videos linked in the thread downloaded the demo and gave it a shot. Heck I don't normally pre-order games but I've enjoyed the demo so much that I reserved a copy yesterday when I went to GameStop to pick up Pokemon.

Too bad the demo is only 30 min or else I would do this all day.
Man, I totally forgot to do that! I used to do that ALL the damn time in San Andreas in the mine pit in near Las Venturas with my brother. Spawn a hovercraft, use the crane to hook onto it, and fly that shit as high as possible :lol

So is multi-grapple an upgrade available in the full game or is it just a mod?
Unfortunately it's just a PC mod. Apparently you can't upgrade the grapple at all in the full game, only guns and vehicles.

If this is what modders come up with in the demo then I can't wait to see some full game mods O.o

Maybe an unbreakable grapple? It kind of sucks that the grapple snaps when you attach a moving car to the ground.

One more week to go!

Meh, I think that would make it too easy. Right now its all about hooking the car to the ground at just the right angle to make it flip.

"Yeah, we're going to have some fun with DLC," beamed lead designer Peter Johansson, "but unfortunately I can't talk about the specifics.

"We're going to have a lot of DLC. We'll see what happens," he added with a grin. "DLC is important, but a game like Just Cause 2 can live pretty long because it's not just playing through the story and being done with it - there's the completion rating and playing with friends. That's what we do in the office!"

Johansson said his save file at the time of the interview was 60 per cent complete, a feat that had taken him 55 game hours to accomplish. Finishing the campaign, he explained, represents barely a quarter of what's on offer.

Just got my $10 credit from GOW3 on Amazon (it SHIPPED!!!). I'm gonna preorder JC2 with it now. Any ideas on what to put the resulting $15 credit toward are welcome...

I wonder what they're going to do with the DLC. They've mentioned that there won't be any new islands or locations, but if it's just going to be new vehicles and weapons (which is all they've shown so far), I can't see myself being too interested.

yeah you can play as long as you want on the ps3 by pausing the game with a second left and hitting the ps button a couple of times. done it twice and for some reason i was able to go outside the allowed area of the demo and got to explore the island which was cool, though no missions outside the are came up:D

This thread has been alive entirely too long for me to search for this, but I encountered a pretty great bug last night. I had about two minutes left in the demo and was just screwing around with the base jumping/parachute mechanics (which for the record completely make the game for me, because I'm a sucker for open world games with unique and fun traversal methods) when I started grappling to cars to gain speed while parachuting. I did it a few times in a row, and all of a sudden my left arm tore off and flew with one of the trucks as I kept parachuting away. Immediately, I lost function of my left arm, AKA the fun one. I also had flung myself far enough so that I was no longer within walking distance of anything interesting. I didn't even have a way to suicide by cop to make it reset, so I just ended that demo out with 30 seconds of running with one arm wondering why the game recognized that the arm was gone on the UI (I had no left weapon displayed and the game didn't show the grapple crosshair).

Wth - possible code for a mission where you lose an arm? :lol

WHAT?

Was there blood or a tearing sound? Or did the arm geometry literally come away from the body, and there's a neat little hole where you can see inside your torso?

Also, why did you not get pics! >:|

I know you're supposed to be able to level up your weapons in the full game, but is this also true for the grappling hook?

Never mind, answered on this very page.

Keys to the City cheat mode please. I need that multi-grapple ability. And also for the cable to not snap so easily. In the demo you can't drag one AI controlled vehicle behind another.
