Actually, I've been under the impression that you CAN upgrade your grapple, since the infini-grapple mod also lets you make them unbreakable, and they're only changing numbers.

This is the main reason my friends won't be picking this up.

But I have to say, after the glitch-fest that was Mercenaries 2 co-op, I'm just glad the game works as well as it does, co-op or no.
 
I saw someone tether a car to a helicopter and jump out, fly through the air and then get inside the car.

When I try this the car falls SUPER fast. I cant even get back in the helicopter because the blades stop me. :(

The community guy said on the official podcast that you can't. :(

I would guess the developers put a lot of modifiable attributes in the code to fine-tune the grapple behavior, and that's what the mods are tweaking. But who knows, they might sneak it in as a surprise, or as DLC sometime later.

But..... I need to know about the missions and more about the structure of the game...
So please Neogaf, I need you to tell me about how awesome the missions and the general game is!

No there wasn't any blood, just kind of looked like the model folded in on itself at the arm. The game clearly glitched out, I didn't really see the arm go away since I was parachuting and didn't see anything besides the wire freak out. I only noticed it even happened when I tried to grapple something else after floating away a bit. Didn't get a picture because I don't have any reliable way to take pictures off screen.
 
This game really needs a constant rolling replay mode.

Just shot down a helicopter flying towards me (while I was flying one myself), dodged out of the way, and turned in time to see the exploding helicopter take out the other one that was following me.

Wow. It's unfortunate I won't be getting it on PS3, but that's great. Why isn't this possible for PC?
 
You could probably find a solution for PC. Like that fraps program. The only reason it's in the PS3 is because it's a feature in the PS3 dev tools, or firmware (whatever it is). I wonder if they have the screen shot option in there also. I'd like to take those as well.

You can probably do it through FRAPS or whatever. The PS3 has built in Youtube API functions so that's why the PS3 is getting it built into the game, I guess.
 
yea... as a 360 owner I'm not used to getting the short end of the stick and this replay mode sounds friggin sweet... kinda sucks for 360 :(
 
This shit with the overly sensitive aiming down at total random is killing me. If I can't figure out a consistent way to get this to work I'm going to be terrified it's not fixed in the full version. :(

I don't know if anybody else has experienced it- on PC, with a controller. Sometimes when I start the game, my right stick sensitivity has like 3x the sensitivity aiming down as aiming up. It makes it fairly impossibly to shoot, or really do anything in the air.

Since it's a Steam DRM game game it doesn't matter where you buy it. I picked up the UK release for $39.50 US shipped at CD-Wow.com last week.

Long thread on GAF. Some dude bought an 1080p HDTV and used 480i cables and scaled up all his PS3-games which made it look ridiculously bad. He also got those black bars on the sides and he made a topic about it, wondering wtf's going on.

It was awesome :lol

Yep. What I love about the interviews with the dev team is that they know as well as everyone else that it's over the top and ridiculous, but that's what the game's about.

Their latest PS3 upload is short and sweet, I wonder if civilians fly planes outside missions.

Also! Why isn't there an Official thread yet? There's now 1 week until launch.
 
As there is going to be a lot of DLC for this game; any news on the platforms supported for it? I have PC/PS3/360 and would prefer the PC one unless its not getting any of the DLC.

It's a steamworks game. There's probably gonna be DLC available on Steam.
