Just Cause 2 Multiplayer - [Beta Test: Sat 8th-9th September]

will update when the next test session arrives, could be a few weeks i think

at least i hope it is, the mod needs a few more things synched and some sort of objectives to keep it interesting
 
Well I messed around for 30 minutes or so. Awesome premise, but still a bit too early for me to spend my time playing. There aren't any missions, just people running around doing nothing.

The doing nothing part was what was best. The lawlessness was wonderful. Hi-jacking planes from people, and getting Hi-jacked in return was hilarious. Finally getting a plane off the runway and then getting yanked out cracked me up. Stealing someone's plane, then crashing it a minute later. Trying to make it in a car all the way to the airport without getting your car stolen was great. Then using the black market later was great too. The only crappy aspect was the chat. Seriously seen enough "Nigger" and "Faggot" to last me a lifetime.

I used my time to dispense justice on those who would blow up people on the ground. Invariably by crashing a plane into a helicopter or by doing a flyby hijack.

Fun times.
 
What I'd like to see in the next beta
- Can't hijack other people's vehicles
- Better animations on other Ricos
- Some kind of prediction, so people riding on cars actually look like they're riding on cars
- Working weapons
- Choose your spawn point (if possible), preferably not near the city

fuck that

and the black market lets you extract to wherever you want so spawn points werent an issue anymore

all I want is as you said, predictions so other rico's animation shows up fine (when riding on your car etc)

the ability to grapple people

weapons properly working

private servers

letting you activate or deactivate mods on private servers

NPCs/enemies/maybe campaign missions

If they got rid of that, it'd take away what's fun about this mod. I wouldn't mind seeing a mini game or something to give the player in the vehicle a chance to defend themselves.
 
I want the same thing I wanted in every game with vehicles in it since 1995. Capture the flag with a tank, a jeep and a helicopter.

that won't happen

some kind of engine limitation (i think)
 
I hope they fix the spawn system and remove the ability to use the black market fast travel. A mini game for hijackings would be nice too.

That's what happens when you are on a server with 500 random people. This won't be a big issue when we can set up our own servers.

Salsa, if you're up for it, we can do some co op Transformers or something MP. Not home until about 9:30-10pm (anhour behind you).
 
Well that was quick. Can't wait to see where it goes.

This mod will easily put the game in one of my top 3 or 5 games of all time. Right now it's very high but playing with a friend will make it even better.

3 things the mod needs to be great:

1. Custom servers
2. NPCs (including a fully working heat system)
3. Smoother grappling. Grappling looked awful in the first beta and really ruined the immersion

I'm sure all of the above will be coming and I can't wait.
 
I'm just going to play JC2 and pretend other people are on, just that I can't see the names and chat. :( I had a lot of fun, the city was chaos and people were out for themselves. So much potential. I want SR3 with more people in the world like this game.
 
ahhh, was going to get on, been watching this Walking Dead Marathon, and it's almost over.

This MP mod made me go back to my single player file. I really hate these missions where you have to protect someone who walks right out into gunfire on purpose, but damn this game is fun.

Hoping for Just Cause 2 to go down to $5 on Steam before I plunge though. Anyway, just thought everybody should know.

So this starts around 8am UK time? I might have to actually get up at a reasonable time on a Sunday for once.

They might have stunt positions synced, if you look at one of the posts they posted a screenshot of a guy on the car and someone driving. The guy isn't in the way back behind the car but is in fact in the right position.

Not sure if it's going to be a feature in this next beta test though.

It's well worth the full price.

I've logged 40+ hours so far and still love playing it.
 
Could imagine some insane cannon ball run type races from one part of the island to the other if people could set up waypoints for a race.
