Kay Plays |OT|

DS1 was her first Souls game and Kay very quickly gets up to speed and is parrying enemies like nobodies business, so it's worth sticking with the DS1 run! :)
She can show me how it's done eh? ;)

She is a bit of a pro by the time Demon's Souls rolls round, I was well impressed. I'll give it a few more episodes, see how it goes.

The Dark Souls videos take a little bit to get going, but then she starts wrecking house. It's good stuff.

I don't think this has been posted yet. This is the map Kay made for The Legend Of Zelda

The C's are the cemetery. The S is the screen you start on. I started to mark screens with X's when I found their secret exits, but I got lazy about that later on. I did at one point go screen-by-screen with bombs and candle to find as many secrets as possible.

Just subbed to Kay; so glad I was curious enough to open this thread and check her stuff out, I really like her videos from what I watched so far :D

I'm really not sure about this Dark Souls LP. I keep skipping ahead a few videos because she's making barely any progress, stumbling with the controls and dawdling like she does, but every time I do she's still stood there at Firelink with no souls!

Also, her PC is clearly not very good so the framerate is horrible, it hurts my brain to watch it stutter everytime she pans the camera.

Hmm, I'll give it a few more episodes today but I dunno, might not bother with this one. Don't think I'll bother with DS2 either because I'll probably pick it up on PS4 at some point.

What other LP's of hers do you recommend?

Two weeks without Kay...I'm having withdrawals. Need moar Kay...Hope she does RE Remastered at some point.

I'd like to see Kay play the first Deus Ex. Something about the open-world puzzle solving and the epic narrative makes me think she'd really get into it.

Spent a great deal of time today watching her lp of Dark Souls. Besides her abuse of soul arrows during boss fights she's a much better player than I am and I feel bad for all the npc dialogue I skipped, because there does seem to be a very interesting story in these games.

The best is Dark Souls. She goes from complete noob to master over the course of the game. She figures out the most mysterious lore on her own just by paying attention and reading the item descriptions. Stick with it.

I was actually just about to post, I've been sticking with it and it's getting better! I skipped forward a fair few but I'm on episode 30, she's on her game now.

She only just realised that she can use firebombs on the boarded up door in the undead burg, she spent ages trying to light her club on fire and stuff! I was shouting at the screen as she was scrolling past them. She seems like a smart cookie, I'm surprised it took her so long to click on, haha.

I'll definitely keep watching now, it was just a slow start.

Another post to"stick with her". Yes, she starts out slow but that is because she goes in totally blind. By the time she wraps up the game she is pretty much a master an has almost all of the lore figured out. Heck, she actually taught me a bunch of stuff I didn't ever figure out. She's meticulous and thorough. Plus, she has one of the best LP voices I have ever heard.

Yeah, she does have a lovely tone to her voice, very calming. I usually watch a few episodes before I go to bed, perfect relaxation watching!

Not a huge fan of her meticulous nature though, when she starts reading every scrap of lore, scouring every inch of the environment and breaking out the binoculars to look at everything little thing she can see I often skip ahead a bit. I'm a pretty impatient player, I never read any of the lore or anything on my playthrough.

I can see the appeal, and it's great that she gets so into it, but I'm usually like, "Urgh, get on with it Kay!"

^ Haha. When she found the binoculars in DS2 I thought to myself "now the real 'Kay plays Dark Souls 2' begins!"

I can relate, I love the binoculars it's always one of my first pick ups on a new playthrough.

There's a reason I called her "The Batman of Dark Souls."

Me too, I think it'd suit her style of LPing.

I remember that some people in the Dark Souls OT thought she was just faking it, because she figured too much out for someone going in blind hehe.

I was suspicious, too. She seemed too proficient and able to figure things out too quickly. Then I kept watching and saw there was plenty she gets wrong that actually stems from her sometimes overly meticulous style.

I didn't think anyone could possibly figure out how to access the dark souls 1 dlc without looking it up until I saw Kay's lets play

Her dedication to playing blind great, so many DS playthroughs are uninteresting to me because the player knows way too much about how to do things in the game.

Another thing I really like is that she takes the game seriously and appreciates the design. A lot of other playthroughs are full of mindless sarcastic comments and other nonsense and they play the game like a job just trying to rush through it.

I hope she likes Bloodborne.

Usually I avoid lets plays, not really into the whole watching other people play thing. However Kay's play throughs really kept me interested throughout and even made me buy both souls games! Just finished the first tonight actually and will start the second tomorrow (aiming to get it done before Bloodborne hits).

Hope she does a Bloodborne play through as I really enjoyed the other 3 series.

Kay put up a QnA talking about herself and games...

Part 1 of (maybe 4?)

Bloodborne not next game BTW. Which I think is good, as the people who enjoy watching Kay play Souls-like games seems to be the people that also like to play them.

Also, I think I heard Kay said say "Fuck".... THE WORLD IS FALLING APART!!

Yeah, may be somewhat selfish, but i'm glad she's not going to play BB right away, so i can play it myself and THEN watch her playthrough.

It's really shitty her PS4 died right when Bloodborne is around the corner. But I can't wait to see her next playthough. Her style fits so many games...No idea which it'll be...

I don't want to hijack the thread or anything, but if you're interested in seeing someone play through RE Remastered here's a link to my girlfriend's ongoing playthrough of it.

It was pretty much her first experience with Resident Evil. She dies quite a bit at the beginning, but soon gets the hang of it. She also has playthroughs of Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, and is currently making her way through Dark Souls 2 as well for anyone interested.

First two episodes were great, reminded me why this game is in my top 10 of all time.
So good.

She's getting the hang of it pretty quickly, too.

The only let's player worth watching these days.
I used to watch TheRadBrad but he is a disaster now,he only cares about the number of views and subscribers.
I hope she starts playing Bloodborne one of these days.
