Kay Plays |OT|

I'll watch Mordor, Kay's commentary is interesting and I haven't seen much of the game.

Bloodborne doesn't have any jump scares and is more low-key horror, so I think it'll be fine whenever she gets around to it (Considering Shadows of Mordor is open world, it might take a while).

The crows all throughout the game say differently.

Should be a short and sweet series. She probably beat it in a sitting and is just uploading the videos separately. (similar to SotC)

Vanishing of Ethan Carter next!

Ah, a short series before Bloodborne. Right? RIGHT? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

One can only hope.

I was crestfallen to hear that she's holding Bloodborne and doing Gone Home but actually GH is a great game for her Batman level detective skills.

She missed the drawer with the
condom
in it. I yelled at my screen.

Also I'm gonna be curious her reaction to
Sam's note about masturbating - cause that cuts out and you can't interact with it anymore
in the basement.

This is the funnest one of these Kay did - arguably better than Dark Soul. Definitely better than SotC (which I don't think suited at all).

She would probably really enjoy Life is Strange and Wolf Among Us I think/

I hope she avoids Bloodborne for a bit more.

I thought it was about
her first time with Lonnie?

She has mentioned in the comments that she knows she has missed items but in the coming episodes and again before the end she is going to do a full sweep of the house to make sure she hasn't missed anything.

Yep, add in Walking Dead s01 too. I think those games would be a lot of fun for Kay to play.

I grew up in the 90s but those crazy pictures where you're supposed to find something in the pattern I could never figure out. A shark looking a the camera? A 3D heart? Man I feel like I'm missing out or I'm being gaslit.

They always have a superficial pattern that repeats horizontally. You have to diverge your vision (the opposite of crossing your eyes) so that the repeating parts overlap in order for the hidden image to appear.

If you have a 3DS you can use the camera app to easily view them, as the overlap from the two rear cameras can be adjusted with the slide pad.

Episode 6 is up
The part where she prepared a snack cracked me up.
It's been a fun series, but I can't wait for a Bloodborne one, and maybe even Witcher 3 might be great (although since she's so thorough it might last a year and a half)

Hope Kay does some more exploring/investigating before she finishes the game. I think she's looked over some key details dealing with Oscar. Mainly the
cloraphorm in the safe she didn't pick up at all, and she didn't really pick up on the note to Terry saying Oscar knew he'd likely not accept the invitation. Also stuff like the toys in the basement and the growth chart in the basement.

She surprises me on the stuff she misses just about as often as by the stuff she does catch on to. :lol

I laughed/cried when she ended the latest episode right before the end of the game. Though yeah, she's definitely not gonna understand the Oscar subplot at this rate.

She was doing so well putting regular content and on the last ep of the game she stops!

I have a feeling it's because she went up into the attic and found out the game ended like 5-ish minutes later, so she's putting some other content together to add to the end of the video, kind of like the viewer question/answer sessions she's done in the past.

So Sony Music Entertainment is claiming Kay's last Gone Home video, which is making it unavailable for some countries (I'm in Texas and it's blocked for me).

I had to use a VPN to watch it.

Germany: Unfortunately, this video is not available in your country because it could contain music, for which we could not agree on conditions of use with GEMA.

USA: This video contains content from SME, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.

Watching it with a UK VPN works.

What happened to you, Youtube. *shakes head*

WE WILL NOT BE STOPPED.

I don't think I remember Gone Home featuring licensed music from SME but ummm... okay.

edit: the comments finally loaded, I see why

God no. The Telltale games are interactive movies. Id personally like to see Kings Field Ancient City or Ico.

Yeah... though she does say that some of the in-game music is claimed too (maybe not by Sony).

Seconding both of those. Though I'm also fine with her going to Bloodborne. I've been waiting so long for her impressions.

Hnnng. Okay. I listed the vid as private so those who want to watch it immediately with a workaround can do so. We're re-editing without the offending track. It appears that only one of the flagged songs was causing it to be blocked. The others inflict ads. It should be uploaded again in a couple hours. Sorry for the wait, and thanks for watching!

So, lesson learned. From now on we either stick to unknown covers ripped from YT or we dig out the old guitar and do the damn music ourselves.

Check me out. I'm a junior member. *proud*

@AmethystEnd, I added a song list to the description.

edit: reuploaded vid is now available: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jd6aveuFWI

Well, this is unexpected. Good to see you here again.

I'm 19 minutes into the video at the moment. Loving your chronological breakdown of the plot.

Would you mind listing the music you used in the timeline? I recognize the 2nd song is like an instrumental of Still Alive, but I didn't recognize the 1st song.

Edit: OOOH, LUDOVICO EINAUDI. YOU'RE AWESOME. Le Onde is one of my favorites.

Edit 2: And then Comptine D'un Autre Ete ~L'apres-Midi from Amelie. Maybe I don't need you after all!

Kay, well done piecing together that timeline, btw. I've played through the game and had gotten the gist of the various major plot lines
Sam x Lonnie, Oscar's transgressions, the father's writing career, the mother's almost infidelity
, but seeing it all laid out piece by piece in chronological order really drives home how well the folks at Fullbright mapped out their story.

Good stuff! And see, your friend wasn't lying, it was not a scary game. :D

Finished. That was brilliantly done. I recognized several of the songs used, but there were a few that I didn't know, so I'd still appreciate that list :P. Also, I'm curious; which song was causing problems?

Can't wait for whatever it is you decide to take on next.

Edit: Just saw the above edit. Thanks for the list!

Posting the song list here:

"Heavens to Betsy, Complicated (in-game closing credits)
Antoine Dufour and Tommy Gauthier, Solitude
Mymorningjackets, Still Alive - Lisa Miskovsky - guitar cover
Ludovico Einaudi, Le Onde -- The song that's causing this video to be blocked in some countries. Will remove it soon.
Yann Tiersen, Comptine d'un Autre Ete
Mike Dawes, The Impossible 2.0 featuring Nolly and Petteri Sariola
hironou2525, Tori no Uta - Air - guitar cover
RandomCovers, Hiai mo Otome ni wa - Kashimashi - piano cover
Sebastian Tellier, Fantino"

You've seen Kashimashi, and you listen to hironou2525? Can't believe I didn't recognize hironou's work. Well, I mostly listen to his Aria covers, so I guess I don't feel too bad.

I'm curious if Fullbright's next game, Tacoma, is gonna be in the same vein or it might be more 'guided' in the same way I'm thinking Firewatch or something might be. I can't really think of many "one city block"-style games or played many besides Gone Home, really.

The next closest thing I can think of is Vault 11 in FNV, but that's fairly quick.

Just watched the last episode. Really enjoyed the series. You're an awesome guide.
