Kickstarter Thread - 2014 - Making promising projects a reality

The Kickstarted game Ascendant is released, Steam version soon
$9.99 (PC, Mac & Linux coming)

Ascendant is the unforgiving beat 'em up that challenges you with a new world each time you play. It utilizes a number of modern roguelike elements such as permadeath and procedurally generated environments. You are a demigod who invades a plane controlled by your rivals. They will stop at nothing to eliminate you. Only the most impressive warriors will triumph over their armies of zealots and beasts.

Last nine hours for Four Sided Fantasy, less than 10k from the goal. Got a huge boost in funding and momentum overnight and during the day

It's going to be a close one. I expect either a last hour success or something like failed at 95%. I really hope it makes it. One, because the dev said that if it does fail, the project probably won't happen and two, because Perspective and The Fourth Wall were awesome and this looks just as innovative and interesting

Wiiu just got confirmed as a main goal platform. I want to see this do well.

Anyone repost the new red goddess ks? I am on my phone and can't do it easily
Red Goddess is back? I didn't even know. Already 50% funded, that's a great start. Will add it soon

Oh, and Mark of the Old Ones was funded!

Hey guys. Our company, React Games, is going to be launching a Kickstarter for Super Dungeon Bros on May 27th. It's a passion project that has been evolving in our free time over the past year plus, spawned from an OUYA game jam. Since then, we've upgraded it significantly and moved it towards a more higher end game, targeting Steam and possibly some other platforms (stretch goals are still being finalized - but the game is a Unity game and we are licensed for the major consoles - so there are plenty of options). We've launched a website and we're gearing up for a hopefully successful Kickstarter campaign. Please check out our site and video and give us a like on facebook. We can use all the grassroots support we can get. Thanks!

For an indie game, it looks fantastic. It's like a big name Tales game.

The game looks really far along already, and it looks good to boot. $100,000 should be easy for them to get.

'Cedric Littardi' : My God, he is everywhere.

20$ is a little high for what I wish to pay for a KS project. I will wait for some more info before eventually backing it.

Well, our project is live now. Haven't started doing any plugging yet, but I figured I'd at least post a link here. There's no alpha build or playable demo, but hopefully the gameplay was well represented enough for everyone's standards. We have our art, music, and logic all previewed on the page. (Most notable is the music, I'd say, composed by Waterflame.) Nervous as all balls. Need to go take a walk to cool down or something lol.

Here is the link.

The KickStarter for Rudo Resurrection is underway. It's 2.5D side scrolling brawler built with Unreal Engine 4 featuring the wrestlers from CHIKARA, an independent wrestling promotion that's super cool (even if you don't like pro wrestling). Good colorful characters, a crazy overall storyline complete with time traveling, Bob Saget (the real Bob Saget), swamp monsters, and solid wrestling. Should translate very well to a game.

The developers are former Turbine and 38 Studios folk and they're asking for $50,000 in funding. They'll be doing a livestream on Monday to show off what they've got so far and talk about the game and what they want to do with the stretch-goals.

It's PC-only as of now. Possibly coming to the PlayStation ecosystem if the goal is met.

I know some of the guys working on this

The Mystery of OAK ISLAND a point and click adventure game.

I was able to read a first draft of the story a while ago and it really was a page turner for me. Since I worked with some of those guys on a fan adventure game a while ago I really hope they make it, though it might be a bit to high at 100k and the rate it is going.

My Kickstarter for Combat Core is up! I'm also running a Greenlight campaign and have a playable alpha demo. I'd love to chat in a dedicated thread too but I wasn't sure about the NEOGAF self-promotion rules. Please download the demo, give feedback, and support if you can!

We get that a lot. It was not an inspiration, but it certainly isn't bad company to be in.

So Super Dungeon Bros. got Greenlit today! Not a bad way to head in to our upcoming Kickstarter. On the other hand, we had some technical billing related difficulties and our Kickstarter got pushed back a few days. It's still set to go live very soon. I'll be sure to let you guys know when it happens.

Congrats on the Greenlight! Saw yours launched shortly before mine, I've got a lot of positive comments but still only 50% of the way up (after the latest batch bumped me up). Feels like I may have missed a chance to have a ton of traffic to my Kickstarter since I launched Greenlight early, though.

Hi guys, been a big lurker for a long time and wanted to share a project that that can involve you and the community in the concept art creation phase:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/589167971/chrono-rider-action-rpg-inspired-by-16-bit-classic

its a sci-fi singleplayer and co-op game with platforming and roleplaying elements. You gain skills and upgrades to solve alien mysteries and make game changing decisions that affect your ending. Your gameplay alternates as you progress throughout the game, we have platforming, classic rpg gameplay, top-down shooting, and multiple vehicle sections connected to a time-timetravelling adventure narrative.

Please like and share our post to be included in the special credits at the end of our game!

We currently support all PC platforms, and aim to simultaneously release on Vita/PS4 and Xbox One.

Thank you for your time.

Why doesn't Kickstarter have a way to add projects in a Favorites or Bookmarks section so you can keep track of those you're interested in?

Also, has anyone checked out Echoes of Eternea? Looks like it made its goal and has some nice aesthetics.

Posted a thread about that a couple weeks here and received not one reply. Disinterest or people not liking Kerberos? The Pit did pretty well, although.

If you star projects to remind you later, you can see a page of all your Starred games. That's how I keep track of my favorites

Not sure what you're referring unless you mean the Favorites in your browser. Otherwise, I don't see anything to "star" projects on the Kickstarter pages.

Edit: Man, I barely saw that.

Thanks for the heads up on that.
