No SF?
Ugh.
are those supposed to be amazing animes or something?
Steins;Gate was pretty good.Good SF in anime is deader than d-e-d dead
I don't know if they'll end up being better than Kids on the Slope, but Mysterious Girlfriend X and Space Brothers are both very good so far.
Ayumu Watanabe has extensive experience, but is mostly unknown in the West due to exclusively working on the Doraemon franchise. His first shows outside that franchise show that he's got the goods, although the top-notch Nobita's Dinosaur 2006 film already showed that.
FYI this'll be up on Crunchyroll a mere 15-20 minutes after it's finished airing in Japan!
He's referring to Mysterious girlfriend X and Space brothers which are both directed by Ayumu Watanabe, and are both airing this season.
With Crunchyroll, you can watch the episodes a week later for free in SD with ads correct? Pretty sure I read that on GAF the other day. I'm not sure if I want to bother purchasing a sub right now unless it's necessary, so I'd rather do that.
NAKAZAWA!!!
HosannaExcelsis just told me Nakazawa also did the Kuroko no Basket OP this season. I just watched it... and it's kinda meh.
There's more music info on the CR page too:

Kanno on the piano for BGM! Mmmmmmmmmm....
This is for the music performances?
No, that's for BGM.
So Kanno isn't composing the music?
She is. Those are expanded credits. They're people Kanno has been working lately.
Oh okay. Is Steve Conte still around? Not that I'm sure he'd be good fit for this show.
After KoikeLupin this has a very high standard to surpass.
After KoikeLupin this has a very high standard to surpass.
I'm sure he's still around, but I don't think he's involved in this project at all. They're keeping it pretty Japanese because it actually takes place in Japan.
Not sure how interesting this is going to be to watch, should be amazing to listen to. Just doesn't sound intriguing to me.
Yeah it's not like Shinichiro Watanabe is one of the best visual directors in the business or anything.
There are more to visuals than just animation. Not talking about the animation in of itself.

Woah woah woah woah. There are more to visuals than just animation.
Wow I was talking about the setting and premise. It doesn't sound that interesting.
What if their Jazz instruments transformed into mecha?
What if their instruments were middle schoolers?
