Fuck, I'm an idiot. Didn't realize that it was the episode title :lol About half-way finished with it. Pretty awesome so far.

Fuck, another kickass episode. Damn, this show would really flourish on HBO/Showtime. Really hope the DVD sales influence a network to save this awesome show

Pretty much this. i really liked this latest episode. Things seem to be moving really fast but with it on the chopping block i cant really fault the writers too much.

the entire season was finished before the pilot even aired. by this point, all the sets are probably ripped down and the actors have been released from their contracts.

as much as I love the show and want it to happen, we're not getting a renewal. stop getting your hopes up.

This show won't *need* a second season. It has an ending and it's moving blatantly towards it.

A second season would have to be so completely different it would be ripe for stupid missteps. Every show does not need a second season just for being good.

my fucking god. amazing. the queens action took me off guard because it was just so sudden, but everything else was just. so. good.

Jericho.

Futurama.

Family Guy.

It can happen.

*sigh*

- The Jericho renewal completely backfired for CBS. HORRIBLE ratings. The Nuts campaign was fucking huge, it should have worked, but it ended up just proving that people on the internet do not represent the vast majority of television viewers. No network will ever try that again.

- The thing about Family Guy and Futurama is that they're cartoons. It's not hard to get the voice actors to come in during downtime with their other projects and record some episodes. There's an endless number of Korean animators to animate the episodes and they can pay them next to nothing for it.. Those are VERY VERY VERY cheap and profitable shows to produce and the DVD sales - cold, hard numbers - backed up their decisions to renew.

- Kings has practically no buzz/hype/word-of-mouth for some reason. I hardly even see any of the TV sites I visit talking about these amazing episodes we keep getting. The ratings have been completely godawful from the start for such an expensive show. At least Jericho had good ratings until it was put on hiatus. The show wrapped production before March and the actors have likely signed onto other movies and television shows by this point.

You're expecting huge sales for the DVDs? No fucking way. It's currently listed @ $45 AFTER Amazon discount for 13 episodes. They'll sell like shit. We're lucky that this 13-episode-arc at least supposedly has an ending. There is no chance whatsoever for a renewal.

Eh, W/E, my only hope is that (much like Freaks and Geeks) this show will find an audience on DVD. Be it through Netflix or straight sales.

And if it doesn't, I guess it doesn't matter anyway, I've enjoyed it.

If Kings gets renewed, Band of Brothers should too.

Not that I think this will be renewed, but a similar thing happened to Chuck. Quit acting like an authority over the uncertain.

I'll pick it up but not til I find it dirt cheap. I found Studio 60 at best buy a few weeks ago for $18... that's about what I'd spend to own Kings. Maybe up to $25 but yeah. Although I could see Kings on BluRay being worth the extra dough.

Kings is nowhere near Chuck. Chuck had a huge groundswell but it was only in one demographic. It also had tons of advertising opportunity while Kings has absolutely zero. "The Kingdom of Gilboa, powered by GE." Not gonna happen. Also it should be noted that referencing Chuck to Costanza is a bad strategy, since the guy is one of the main GAF chucksters.

Anyways... I don't think this show needs a S2. I think it's fine as a single season. I only wish it had done a bit better cuz it'd be neat to see some other classic Talmudic traditions brought to the small screen with this level of respect for the material and the audience alike.

So I just watched the most recent episode with the charter.

Holy shit, was that the base of the fucking Arc of the Covenant it was resting on in the rail car? The two cherubs with the wings touching... that has to be it.

Damn it Costanza! You're dragging me back in! :lol

Is it your fault I accidentally bought the DVD set for Day Break today, as well?

i dont understand how this show can be so good? i want to say it gets better with every episode but that wouldnt be fair to the previous ones. this show is honestly, imo, above all else. never before have i been so compelled by a show or emotionally invested in the characters. its grabbed me from day one and i am just in awe. its fucking perfect*

*almost perfect. please tell me theres a point to the security guard and that black woman. that was totally out of place if there isnt some kind of meaning. also im not quite sure why Michelle suddenly backed out. wouldnt she want to help him more than ever? or was she afraid of bad things happening to her
and her child if she went through with it?

yeah, this is a weird subplot to randomly bring up again, but I'm sure they're going somewhere interesting with it.

Most amounts of "Oh Snap!" moments in a broadcast television series in a long time during the end of the episode.

My one issue right now is that they haven't brought up
that old king who was in prison, or explained why Andrew was exiled in the first place.
I hope it doesn't end up like this episode where they brought back something from earlier in the series when needed (the whole
fat guard likes Thomasina thing.
That was dumb.)

I expect her to betray Saul. Because the security guard saw 'good' in her.

Pretty clear they merged Ishbaal and Jonathon into this show's Jonathon, which explains the differences between the two Jonathons a lot of people talked about earlier in the season. Which could mean this season will end with Jonathon as King (since Ishbaal was between Saul and David).

im glad i dont remember the biblical story. i have no idea if David is supposed to be king, although King David sounds familiar :lol

Episode was amazing. Just amazing.

Did anybody else scream out "holy shit!" when Silas dropped
the F bomb on Jack
?

I betrayed Kings last night by watching UFC, but I just finished downloading it in 720p with 5.1 audio and I'm about to hook my computer up to my TV and watch it on my comfy couch.

Pretty disappointed in the princess in that last episode. Can't trust these women with anything.

thats wat i thought at first. but then i thought about it and it does make sense. she was scared of Silas (he looked pretty psychotic holding that knife) and she cant put
her baby in danger

not sure why im spoiler tagging this. i guess since so few people watch it, i figure everyone seeing this thread hasnt seen the show :lol

there better be a bluray release of this. day 1.

HO HO HO HO HOLY FUCK what an amazing episode. Fuck this world for not accepting this show.

Unfortunately there are no plans for a Blu-ray release. The DVD set was announced a while back.

Wow what an awesome episode! If you are reading this thread and havent seen this show, do yourself a favor and catch up on Hulu.

EDIT:

There seem to be a couple side-plots that have been dropped like that
(like that Information Minister lady and her butting heads with the queen.. it a story that brews for a few episodes than they just give a sentence or two mentioning her death)
.. probably to focus more on a solid ending.

So much happened in the last 5 minutes, my god I will miss this show.
Silas putting a hit out on his kid right after calling him a faggot in front of his entire kingdom was great

I dint think those military men were from Silas. I got the impression that they were with the uncle dude

and even if it's not planned, they had better eventually bring out bluray.

.. Wow.

That was an incredible episode. This is the best acting that I've ever seen on tv.

We have, what, two more episodes?

Seriously. Cancellation be damned, McShane deserves an Emmy for Best Actor for this.

Totally agree, he deserves something for his performance. His son as well, at first I didn't like him, but he has really grown on me.

Wow. Wow. Wow.

Just saw the latest episode. Holy shit this show has turned into awesome x 1000. Probably one of the best episodes of any show I've seen.
