Yup, the PS1 version works so well because Snake feels positively ordinary compared to the cast of villains, and that makes him all the more bad-ass in retrospect.

Twin Snakes screws that up entirely.
 
While I will definitely buy this, seems unnecessary. Wasn't this game already remade once? I'd rather have a remade MGS3 if we're doing REmake style remakes.

I always feel sad for the people who hate fun and dislike The Twin Snakes' cutscenes. The door sideflip is amazing.
 
Will it be the abomination that Twin Snakes was? That game sucked the life and soul out of MGS1 already with it's over the top cutscenes. Please don't deface the game any more

this is part of the Kojima problem, fans and Konami wont let it go, I'd take new ideas from Kojima or a new ZOE from Kojipro over this tired series anytime (very sad to see the dude and talents in Kojipro making MGS for the rest of their days). and MGS4 and PW were really bad and I personally have zero faith in MGS5 after seeing E3 videos, in all honestly MGS should've ended with MGS4.

Shit game from a shit developer that makes MGS Snake look goofy as hell and breaks the gameplay by adding in MGS 2 mechanics.

Also runs at a pathetic framerate.
 
I'm the 100th person to say this, but we need a MG1 and MG2 remake. I'll take an MGS1 remake, considering that only MGS3 is the better game in the franchise.
 
God save us please, not Platinum Games this time, or we'll have another emo remake worst than TTS and Kitamura's shitty cutscenes.

I don't want a remake of anything, but I would not be entirely opposed to a remake of MG and MG II as long as its developed by a new team of young people at Konami. I would not be opposed at all if this new studio was headed by Shinta Nojiri.

Otherwise, I'm not wasting more money on remakes. I bought TTS and I bought the HD Collection, both of them didn't live up to the originals.

Far from flawless. Beyond random sound glitches and random lag in codec sequences, MGS3 HD excluded Guy Savage, the Secret Theater, Boss Survival and Snake vs. Monkey. I understand why they wouldn't include the last piece of content because Ape Escape is a Sony property, but Bluepoint hasn't provided a complete package. I'll give them credit for including Metal Gear 1 & 2 though. That, I didn't expect them to do.

I do not understand how developers manage to make HD ports of 10 year old games and not have them as debugged as the originals, as polished as the originals and not have a locked framerate. It blows my mind.
MGS 3, supposedly, runs at 60fps. As soon as you enter Groznyj Grad during the night, it goes down to 30fps. MGS 2 runs at about the same as the PS2, which means a lot of framerate dips in the crowded section of the Holds.

No to mention all the random bugs that each version of the game has.
 
I'm not that excited about this and Metal Gear Solid is my favorite game of all time.

I love the mechanics and the cutscenes and even the offensive voice acting. It's just such a great package.

A remake will probably try and take out all the campy humor and retcon it to better fit the modern storyline.
