And you forgot when games were games and not a service.
You should take on board your own knee jerk advice and also remember or entertain the notion that games should be games in their entirety instead of having bits stripped out, chopped up, excluded etc. so that they can sold at a premium price to corporate champions like you and your ilk. Monetisation practices like these and the consumers that fall for it, and even worse - defend it - are why companies continue to get away with it.
