Which makes more sense than how the original source worded it.Huh? Sounds like this year is just a slim Xbox One and next year is Xbox 1.5 with slight upgrades.

I am interested in the Oculus rumors. I wonder if Microsoft and Oculus are developing a VR headset specifically for the new Xbox or that the current Oculus Rift can be used on the new Xbox.
Excited to see the Oculus capability. I hope that turns out to be true.
Aren't the requirements high for it though?
Unless Scorpio will also benefit from the power of the cloud.
Exactly. Beat me.That's the part that's most interesting to me. Implies the next Xbox will be a tech monster considering what kind of pc is required to run the oculus. I was thinking they'll give specs at E3 but they could always do their own event ala PSX and talk about all this. Exciting stuff.
If the Oculus thing is true, PSVR just got quite the slap in the face, since it makes much more sense to get a Rift, which works on PC and Xbox One instead of a VR device that only works on the PS4.
Can't wait for the Rift ready Xbox One announcement at E3!
No.
If the next Xbox is using AMD Polaris/Vega, it's a significant upgrade.

So PS4 Neo vs Xbox One Slim this Q4 and Xbox Scorpio (Neo competitor) next year.
Sony has first mover advantage again. Microsoft have the cushion to gauge Neo Sales as well as going in with extra GPU grunt.
Interesting nonetheless.
.Which Vega rumor?
From Semiaccurate Seronx:
Same author with admitted speculation:
This makes sense, PS4 still using GDDR5 and XB1 forced to use HBM2.
Yes. They are pretty high, which means the next console would be a very significant upgrade. Cloud processing wouldn't help with the console's ability to work with Oculus.

Don't expect that new Xbox to any more powerful than the NEO. That's PR speak from Spencer. They'll bill it it as a more powerful machine but by and large it'll be similar to the NEO
Why doesnt Sony just open up to PC?

Honestly? Far too early to say that. This is AMD, after all. Their CPUs have been disappointing for the smart end of a decade, so don't take their word that this time will be better until they actually deliver.More like extra CPU and gpu grunt. Almost guaranteed it will be using Zen cores which will be miles ahead of jaguar cores used now.
But if all XBO games end up being playable on PC, you'd have no reason to own both systems in the first place. And if you've got a Rift, odds are your PC is going to be better than whatever model XBO is out.

This says to me that they are overall testing for a transition away from consoles if the iterative console strategy doesn't yield results.
What about the cloud? Surely xbox one can match ps4neo with the cloud.
Scorpio is the perfect name for their plans in regards to the console division.
Are we witnessing the end of console generations as we know them?
Differences in PS4K and Xbox Scorpio may be like PS4 vs Xbox one
So basically Microsoft is taking Valve's failure of the Steambox, infuse it with their brand. And ride the money route home. Good idea
