So women wanting more representation in games bothers you guys a lot huh?
The concept of represenattion is fraudulent.
The notion, for example, that a female character is not just a fictional individual but instead the representative of millions and millions of real women, as though women were a homogenous group is patently absurd. It also justifies and leads to shallow, bland characters.
Because if that character is a representative of women at large, then any flaw would be an accusation that all women are flawed in a certain way. Flawless characters make for terrible fiction.
What's wrong with having more actual minorities in games?
There's nothing wrong.
But there's nothing particular laudable either.
It's not about shoe horning them in/pushing an agenda; it's about realizing other people play games too and there are many other stories that can be told.
Indeed.
Good stories are good stories. What makes a good one is not directly tied to whether the cast is diverse or not.
You all just sound like entitled pricks.
I do not agree.
I love the diverosty in characters and NPCs in games
So because you love diversity, so should everyone?
You were saying that "we" sound entitled, were you?
Why should anyone share your opinion, if it's just a personal opinion of yours, simply a matter of taste?
and hope it continues to show off the full spectrum of human civilzation. Why are you all against that? And what about Anita bothers you so much
Her inability to make a rational argument. Her persistent misrepresentation of the other side's position. The fact her ideas consistently lead to worse games.
, she's just an internet celeb that has talked about her harassment and wants to see fairer representations of women in games.
Represenattion is a fraud.
I want to see albino midgets represented in games. If women get it, so should albino midgets. Essentially, what is the diference between calling for more representation for women and for albino midgets?
Just grow up for once and let go of your biases.
Right back at you.
This isn't a men-only club and I'm not sure why some of you want to keep it that way.
Let's say, for the sake of argument, some men do want it to remain a men-only club. Do you have an objective argument why they shouldn't? Or is it just your opinion? If it's just your opinion, you have yours and they have theirs.
If it's not merely an opinion, please make the objective argument. I seriously doubt you have the capacity, but I'm all ears.
