Even as a kid I thought Ash was lame. He vary rarely legitimately won a major battle.
The ending to the first season was still one of the greatest trolls of all time. Fucking shit sucked.

the pokemons they have on the black/white shit gen are all ghetto looking digimon ripoffs

so even the pokemon artists realize Digimon was ahead of its time. pokemon just had better games (thats why they are still making the same game a decade later)

Has Ash ever won a major tournament?

I remember he won the Orange Leauge but that was just one battle.

True, the pokemon games will seemingly never end.

Digimon fans answer me this, why was that little girl creepily obsessed with Leomon?

You'll have to be a bit more specific. Leomon really gets around.

I realized this the second I started playing, for example Hagurumon vs Klink.

She LOVED Leomon a little TOO much.

At my school we had standards, so Pokémon was king.

Digimon! Had a better story, better characters, and better creatures.
Pokemon is stuck on repeat and it's shit... Except for Pokemon Snap.

She was lonely and wanted a friend, which made it pretty bad when her newfound friend got brutally murdered.

Was there a reason the animation was so wonky in the movie. But yeah, that was awesome. Digimon Season 3 was pretty good too, though it had a very strange start (and mostly stayed strange).

Screw Season 2 though, and everything else after 3.

The movie is actually 3 separate movies edited together. They're from different times, different seasons, and different staff so they look different. That portion of the movie in particular borrows the style of its director, Mamoru Hosoda who uses a more abstract border-less visual style in his other films.

That's Mamoru Hosoda's style.

I still need to watch the original movies in Japanese.

I knew about both but I got bored of pokemon.

The digimon video games were pretty good, better than the pokemon games at least.

Yeah I admit I found it amazing they just killed off a lot of digimon on the show.

Plus i'm sure digimon trainers never Fainted when losing a battle.

Huh Pokemon? Huh?

:>

That scene is horrible in the dub. The original is better.

Nah. The dub makes the scene as epic as it looks.

nothing pokemon has produced will ever touch this scene:

This scene was so epic. Digimon the Movie had the BEST soundtrack when I was a kid. Listened to it over and over again.

Anyway, as for the topic, it breaks down like this:
Pokemon has vastly superior games
Digimon has the superior cartoon.

Pokemon does the same nonsense over and over again. At least Digimon tried to vary it up a little.

It was directed by Mamoru Hosoda. His directorial style involves having characters move around/fidget a lot, a certain color palette, and closeups of mundane objects. He directed the episode in which Tai and Koromon/Agumon returns to the real world and meet Kari after defeating Eddiemon. It's widely considered the best episode in Digimon Adventure by long time fans.

Well they do come back as digi eggs eventually (did they ever show leomon's digi egg?). Also what I don't get abut pokemon is how a charizard doesn't kill a grass type when it uses flamethrower.

lol seriously. Didn't he lose to another kid with a Pikachu? And not even come close to winning overall

Ash = loser

I'm sure they fall over in a comedic anime fashion only to be patched up by nurse joy

Always gone that extra mile
Depended on you all the while
Even in the good and bad times
You will see
From now until our journey's end
You know you can always count on me

Together, forever no matter how long
From now, until the end of time
We'll be together, and you can be sure
That forever and a day
That's how long we'll stay
Together and forever more

While Digimon deals with religion, science and depth psychology it is Pokémon which is truly complex

Yes and YuGiOh is all the doing of
Seto Kaiba, none of the cast members are real but just holograms in a virtual world he created, cause you see Kaiba got his own soul lost in the very virtual world he created. And sadly for some reason he isn't the main character he wanted, the virtual world wasn't exactly to his standards.

Truly Battle B Daman was the worst "Have I got something to sell you" show. The toys actually seemed pretty cool, but unlike Beyblade or Yu-Gi-Oh! they weren't exact school yard friendly.

That so makes me want to rewatch the show now, at least the abridged version.

maybe i was a kid at the time or they spaced the episodes loooooooooooooooooooongggggggggggg

but the second season of Digimon was really long, i remember they killed the first guy in one episode then the second guy took them 320943209 episodes.

I need to see how long that season was lol

I liked both

Also explains why he is somehow mentioned in every season( not sure about ZeXal), his ego is so big that even after a large amount of time he wants to be remembered.

I was always taken aback as a kid at how unlikable Ash was. I never felt a reason to root for that kid. Maybe he had his moments. I don't know. I stopped watching a little after Brock left and in came the guy who liked to draw Pokemon or whatever. Tracy?

Mmm, merchandise-driven series...

Show:
Digimon>Pokémon
I have no opinion for Dinosaur King, other than it was weird seeing the same VAs for Pokémon voice essentially the same roles, character-wise.
Medabots > Zoids: New Century Zero > Beyblade

Game:
Pokémon > Digimon
Saying this, I do like both styles of Digimon game (V-pet raising style, and Pokémon-style turn-based RPG). I played the first and second Digimon World games on PSX, Digimon World Championship, and Digimon World Dusk.
Dragon Warrior Monsters > Monster Rancher > Demikids > Tamagotchi*

* the Game Boy game.

I find it hard to fit in Yu-Gi-Oh, because I haven't really compared it with the above shows/games before.

I'm thinking of importing the UK release of the 3D Yu-Gi-Oh! movie. It's going to have some card, is in 3D on the Blu-Ray, and contains both the English, and Japanese versions. I hope it's region free (the US isn't getting a Blu-Ray).
