I'm thinking of importing the UK release of the 3D Yu-Gi-Oh! movie. It's going to have some card, is in 3D on the Blu-Ray, and contains both the English, and Japanese versions. I hope it's region free (the US isn't getting a Blu-Ray).

I did not even know there was going to be a Blu-Ray release. Well time to spent a ton on shipping.

Digimon is objectively the better anime. All I remember is the arc with Piedmon and that was awesome. Pokemon was (is?) way too moralistic.
However, Pokemon is Pokemon. One of the major staples of my childhood and I never grew out of it.
I still buy the main games and I probably still will until they stop making them.

In anime terms, Digimon was by far better because it actually had an arc, character development that mattered, etc

But in franchise terms? At the very least the original 151 and Gold/Silver were awwwwwwwwwwesomeeeeeee

Over 200 posts and nobody has yet posted the irrefutable, undeniable, conclusive proof of how Pokemon is better than Digimon and that proof is.....

Brock!

Brock was a damn pimp! I bet he tore Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy up when he got a little older.
Plus, we all know what him having the big, strong and long Onix as his Pokemon was really about!

Pokemon was the most pimping kids show ever due to Brock alone

Yu-Gi-Oh Card Game > Pokemon Card Game > Digimon Card Game

Digimon Anime > Pokemon Anime > Yu-Gi-Oh Anime

Pokemon Games >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Yu-Gi-Oh Games > Digimon Games

Have you seen 5Ds?

In terms of which would win in a fight? Digimon. The average fourth stage digimon is like 50 feet tall and more powerful than any Pokemon except maybe some of the legendaries, and then they continue getting bigger and more powerful.

Brock is like that guy everyone knew when they were young that was slightly older and always talked shit about girls. It's only when you get older that you realise he was full of crap and a loser the whole time.

Shin Megami Tensei.

The first mon game series. Also the only one where people seem to actually care about how dangerous controlling supernatural creatures is.

I'd take a character who makes questionable decisions over a character who makes decisions that eventually make him into generic kid's anime protagonist who eventually destroys all evil and is the best at everything.

Actually it's a major point of every Digimon story arc that the kids are extremely immature and only get by because their teamwork makes up for any qualities they lack as individuals.

It's not an especially deep or new thing, but the kids are rarely portrayed as perfect in Digimon.

In fact the kids often start off opposing the virtues they are supposed to represent.

No, I mean, if it's recent I wouldn't have, I don't follow them anymore.

Well that alone is better than any bit of the pokemon anime, add in the abridged series and it VASTLY superior. However, the digimon anime will forever claim the top spot.

Games: Pokémon
Anime: Digimon

Pokémon would be a much better anime if they simply switched protagonists each generation and the writer gave closure to plotlines like Team Rocket organization and G.S Ball, although Diamond & Pearl and Black& White really improved quality.

So basically Ash is good because he chooses not to win with good pokemon and handicap himself constantly and forget every bit of information he learns in an area once he leaves, yeah a sane person would totally do that.
I'll have to defend Ash here. He doesn't handicap himself at all, he leaves his old Pokémons at Oak before departing to build up a new strong team instead of being stagnant at the very same monsters. In fact in Sinnoh League he called back his old Pokémon and mixed with his new ones. He pretty destroyed his opponents. He only didn't win because the writers threw a trainer that uses legendaries and he still took out two before losing.
Considering that now it takes more than one fucking legendary to stop Ash from winning a league he is pretty much a top tier trainer, although if he keeps facing trainers with legendaries he seriously need to catch one to keep up.

Wait, what? did we watch the same 5D's? Unless it somehow got way better after the Earthbound Immortal Arc, this statement is unfathomable.

Also, Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG >Pokémon TCG > Digimon CCG.

Digimon season > Pokemon season 1

Darker and more mature (Tai almost killed his sister as a child, Matt and TK's parents are divorced, Izzy's adopted), actual character development, relationships between characters (yeah Ash, Misty, and Brock are friends but there are no real rivalries, tensions, etc) awesome character/monster designs, use of original character's names, arc usage, filler episodes still reveal more about the characters

Pokemon season 1 > all subsequent Digimon seasons (I only watched 2 and 4) and Pokemon seasons (= with 2-5)

Pokemon characters > Digimon characters

Brock and James are the best characters of any children's anime program. Misty is the best heroine of any children's anime program.

Team Rocket's introduction + Pokemon's soundtrack > Digimon (I actually don't remember their soundtrack)

Pokemon wins overall with the exception of season 1 for me when against Digi's season 1

This argument would be sound if it wasn't for the fact that Ash seems to leave his intelligence behind in Pallet Town every generation too. It's a total disgrace that a Pokémon league semi finalist would job to a complete beginner within 2 episodes of the new series and then lose to the same guy a second time even worse. Not to mention getting beat down by the second gym leader. Ash is a joke, no ifs or buts about it.

Winner.

People actually decided to watch that Digimon shit when Pokemon was around? I kind of figured everyone would just pick a side from the get go. You know like most kids who picked Pokemon.

But yeah, fuck Ash. I stopped putting in effort to watch his shit adventures after he was clearly trolling. He gives away all his fucking pokemon... for what? Didn't he want to be the very best? I mean, it says that shit in the opening line of the intro. Fucking asshole lied to all of us.

Pokemon = Better games

Digimon = Better Show

Yu-Gi-Oh = Somewhere in the middle as far as games, show was fun

Beyblade = Blood, partial nudity, cursing

Everything else = lol

How I always saw it.

Medabots = a really good one season show

I have 100 Medabots trading cards.

I don't know how to play them.

Should've got the figures with the dice, pretty easy to play with those. Although I never figured out how to use my digimon cards. Yugioh man for life.

I have those too with the board game. I also have a Metabee model kit that has a die-cast tin pet.

The only Medabots thing I didn't have as a kid was the giant electronic Metabee. It was pretty expensive for a toy when my mom could buy me a bunch of other things instead.

lol is this even up for discussion.

Digimon is so basic it actually hurts me.

Pokémon has balls of fierceness such as Jigglypuff.

Digimon the show was/is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Pokemon the show. And that's coming from someone with a Charizard avatar.

But the Pokemon games are god like, of course.

Both sum up my opinions on the subject. Digimon was always an immaculate anime for me as a kid, every single season, although I haven't watched the last two yet. Yu-Gi-Oh was great, Abridged even better (lol) while Beyblade and Medabots were entertaining.

I actually still have the Medabots game on GBA and the remnants of a few Beyblade tops around somewhere in storage. I played the hell out of Yu-Gi-Oh with my friends though, while I only ever just collected Pokemon cards. Just realized I actually still own the soundtracks for Yu-Gi-Oh, wow lol.

The card were customizable and stuff.

I had no idea such a thing excited, but the thought of Atem beating everyone in that childrens card game brings me great joy.

I think Ash gets a bad rap, but I stopped watching the anime before the first real season was over. All these new people that aren't Brock and Misty confuse and anger me. I miss the shenanigans of the original trio.

The Monster Rancher anime was actually pretty good but I hated the lame main villain, his origins and his name.
Master Moo lol

Also the Digimon anime was generally funnier, darker and more captivating than Pokemon, which was pretty repetitive if there wasn't a major battle involved. But the Pokemon games always come out on top.
