Lets see your Game of the show

Man, there's a lot of Mass Effect love. Why is this so overwhelmingly destroying Fable 2 and Fallout 3? Of the three, I'm actually least impressed with what I've seen of Mass Effect, though it's still one of my five most wanted games. It seems like Fallout and especially Fable have so much more potential.

We know a lot more about ME than those other two. Also ME has some really interesting facets, like the conversation system that make it one of the most exciting titles in gaming, not just on the 360. It's my favorite 360 title, it's easily on my top 10 list, and would have easily been in the Top 3 if I hadn't heard of some AI issues that will most likely be smoothed out well before launch. Plus, it throws something really innovative and exciting into the 360 mix that we aren't likely to see the likes of again until Alan Wake hits in 2008.

Now that the dust is settling, what game stood out the most on this e3? Post the name of that one game accompanied with a picture to show why it was your favorite. Lets see if we can get a clear winner.

Little Big Planet

No contest, really. The next stepof gaming. WOW ! :D

My top three most wanted games weren't shown at E3 (which means I probably can't call them game of the show), so that leaves Little Big Planet, which does basically everything right.

Super Mario Galaxy or LBP. Whatever, they both have plenty of original ideas.
Other games seems so boring compare to those two games that it's not even funny.

Game of the show has to be Super Mario Galaxy. I mean there's plenty of reasons to be excited for it... and the words I'd use to describe it would sound cliché... but **** it. There's the raw unbridled freedom on display, and the sort of infectious energy coursing through its veins that inhabited the true Nintendo classics of the day. And of course there's GHOST MARIO. Who is, by the way, far cooler than Bee Mario and is the true king of E3.

There are lots of other games deserving of praise... so many... but i guess i just wanna say also that Echochrome and LittleBigPlanet are **** astonishing and show there's plenty of originality and creativity by concept, and not gimmickry.

For once, I actually agree with Amir0x :)

I'm wondering how you arrived at these numbers. This poll seems to have very different numbers. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=162556&highlight=hardware+bias

Anyways, I'm picking Super Mario Galaxy. It just looks inventive and fresh. From what I've seen, this is the creative Nintendo of the N64 days. They've made great games consistently but to me, this is the first ground breaking work in a very long time.

For me it comes down to Mass Effect and LBP. I will not pick between my children.

I'm going to have to play Galaxy before becoming hyped. Sunshine soured me a bit.

Agreed about Mario Galaxy being ground breaking. It just looks so fresh, cool, and creative.

The actual poll contains a shit tons of options, the OP adjusted votes for each company.

You know every time you post that tally as well as tell people you are tallying the votes you irrevocably tamper the results?

Ah. Thanks for pointing that out. Honestly, I'm still confused at how those numbers were arrived at but whatever.

Edit: Nevermind. Those results were the last known results at 400 votes only. The new poll results include 833 voters so I do think the adjusted numbers you've been posting are different from the final tally.

I don't know what are trying to say? that i am making up the votes or something ?

The overall percentage did not change by much.

There are so many games I liked, like Super Mario Galaxy, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Assasins Creed, Metal Gear Solid 4, Wii Fit...but the most outstanding one did stand out like for a mile:

LittleBigPlanet

That if people see their favorite-game-not-quite-game-of-e3 losing, they'll be more inclined to vote that way. =)

Let me first start by saying:

Shock and Awe of the show: Killzone... no one expected it to look like the target trailer... but no one expected it to look like what it ended up as either.. the mood, the setting, the visuals, incredible...

Can't wait cause it's new and looks awesome, but dunno how they'll play: Crysis, Unreal, CoD4, Heavenly Sword and Uncharted...

Freshest Game of the show: LittlebigPlanet

Biggest letdown: Halo 3... really really expected more, MS really butchered it there :*(

BUT my game of the show that I can't wait to play cause I wasn't let down in the past, and it looks even more ****in' awesome now: Rachet... It's looking to shape up as the best mix of Platforming and Shoot'em Up Action game ever... It looks DAMN close to Pixar quality stuff here too... PLUS, iirc, they said between planets, you'll actually have to do the ol' space ship shooter stuff of old... And come on, GROOVITRON baby!

It's what action-platformers should aspire to ever hoping to be, and nothing comes close... Nothing at all...

My vote GOTS: Rachet and Clank

Bioshock. I was really looking forward to this game before but the Gamespot demo was really incredible. Ken Levine talked about the research system and the invention system, both of which seemed awesome.

doesn't seem that, SMG/Mass effect/LBP are still getting all the votes. Though when i mentioned that halo 3 and MGS4 have 0 votes suddenly someone voted for them :lol so i guess you are sort of right.

LittleBigPlanet was game of the show for me..

I was ready to totally be over MGS4 but the trailer was kinda a dissapointing.

Of course I'm right. It's a basic law of statistics :lol

Edit: Of course a public display of all votes anyway will bias the results. @_@ In that case...

VOTE ROCK BAND!

My God, Amirox is a genius.
+1 btw though I would add Wii Fit because it shocked the hell out of everyone apparently.

Good to see GAF voting for Mario Galaxy.

This past week had so many negative Nintendo threads (some rightfully so, some were exaggerated) that I thought GAF would overlook the AAA Nintendo stuff like SSBB and MP3.

Mario Galaxy

Platforming is the essance of modern videogames and there has not been a real evolution for a decade. This is the reason to start playing again.

Mass Effect. As I said in the Mass Effect/Gamespot hands on thread, this could be my game of a lifetime. Star Control II is my favorite game of all time, and the near endless planetary exploration in ME gives me a huge SCII vibe.
