Lets see your Game of the show

Man, there's a lot of Mass Effect love. Why is this so overwhelmingly destroying Fable 2 and Fallout 3? Of the three, I'm actually least impressed with what I've seen of Mass Effect, though it's still one of my five most wanted games. It seems like Fallout and especially Fable have so much more potential.

Woah this is a first...lets see how it turns out =(

Hello Mr.Molyneaux

I wish...

Just in case anyone missed what I said the first time, Mass Effect is one of my five most wanted games (as of this moment, that list is Fable 2, Fallout, Banjo and Turok, though I need to include Mario Galaxy, Little Big Planet and Halo 3 somehow) but it just doesn't seem as daring as the other two huge Western RPGs. I'm wondering why people are more enamored with ME than Fable and Fallout.

:lol

Seriously, after ho-humming my way through the first game in the series, Fable 2 was gonna have to boast something completely innovative or revolutionary for me to give it a second glance. And, from what I've seen thus far, it's essentially the same, uninspired gameplay mechanics set in a free-roaming world. The visuals are decidedly unimpressive, looking like a decent PC game circa 2004.

As of this point, it's a no-buy.

Definitely Wii Fit. The balance board shows a lot of potential for other game types too (1080, Waverace etc.).

*runs out of thread before he's castrated*

because we have seen very little of both and both of them are 2008 ( even 2009 maybe )

LittleBigPlanet. Easily. By a Mile.

As much as I loooooved seeing Killzone looking as amazing as it does, and as much as I have said Ratchet & Clank Future over the last couple days, the more that I see of all these developer walkthrough videos now filtering out of E3, the more I'm in awe of this game. Amazing concept. Brilliant execution (so far).

If I had to pick a game that's coming this year though, that would still easily be Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Nothing looked more polished and playable and just all-around awesome that is going to be released this year. Amazing game in all areas: looks, story/writing/characters and gameplay.

omg :lol People see this as a good thing?

People generally secure in their masculinity have no issue with it. And plus its a nice change of pace to see a game with color. I mean GeOW,Killzone 2 etc its like 4 million shades of Brown, grey and white.

CoD4/Mass Effect

Before E3, I would've said Halo 3, but it's public presence at the show kinda sucked due to a really badly cut (sorry Frankles/Luke, it's the truth) trailer. But the audio, my god the audio :0 !

you played it? bad ass. i'm really looking forward to this more than most of the other shooters that are getting more press.

Yes. It was easily the most kick ass game at E3 that wasn't closed off to select hands-on play.

The other game of the show would be the Sony game that very, very few played.

Works for me!

I'm a sucker for dogs and dinos so it's not surprising what my two most wanted games are.

By the way, they showed a huge spoiler in Mass Effect to demonstrate how dynamic the dialog and story is. This game is going to be frickin' incredible. They gave everyone a copy of the book when we left their presentation. I'm actually going to read the damn thing. I'm really excited about this game.

I have to agree. Listening to Molyneaux talk about that game made me feel like I was patronized. The way he was talking about how he would do this because it was fun and not doing that because it wasn’t, was ridiculous. Dieing isn’t fun, NO SHIT. That’s why as a gamer I try to avoid it.

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway can't get attention wtf? Its one of the best looking shooters coming out and the gameplay is sure to deliver the same intensity the last 2 in the series delivered.

Little Big Planet, because of what it proposes. It is key for the industry's balance. Games are getting too costly while competition is simply continuously rising. LBP proposes that a game's development cost should be relative to its success, and not the other way around. Start small, and expand based on success.

I don't care much about posting screenshots, but anyway:

Wii: Mario Galaxy
PS3: Heavenly Sword / LittleBigPlanet
360: Mass Effect / Too Human
PC: BioShock / Crysis

In his defense, he gave that same presentation every half hour for three straight days. I was there on Thursday and he did not say that. He did not sound patronizing either. He was having a lot more fun with it and there was a lot more feedback/dialog with the press. I'm honestly shocked that he let someone film it. The game looks quite early and buggy at this point. Before he began, he asked my group what the most impressive game we had seen so far was. I told him to check out Echochrome (I think any designer would love this game). After hearing a few recommendations, he said "This will be the least impressive demo." It was merely to show off the combat, and I think it succeeded.

Ok excuse me while I belch and finish mt beer! Put another characters head on that body and everyone would be laughing. Don't get me wrong Mario Galaxy was one of the few reason I kept my Wii. I just found it funny that, that was the picture he posted to sell the game.

I also find it ironic how people love to throw around stereo types when people say something about the Nintendo games. Its a goofy picture. I was just having a little fun relax.

I think it's part being that I'll be playing those two next year rather than this and not a whole lot has been shown of either Fable 2 or Fallout 3. Was there any footage of fallout 3 at the show this year that has hit the mainstream. I would love to see some, but have yet to.

Good point. And hence the name, "LittleBigPlanet".

The fact that the game that has received the most votes, SMG, is for the Wii, isn't necessarily a good thing for Nintendo fans.

No one Sony game has gotten all the votes because it has many super high quality games coming, not just one or two.

And M$ obviously relies heavily on 3rd parties.

Little Big Planet looks like a very interesting concept. The will be the real test will be how long it remains fun.

What is it about Mass Effect that is justifying GOTS votes from people? I saw the Gamespot footage and apart from the graphics I see very little to get excited about. What have I missed?

And you've just got to laugh at people who think Heavenly Sword or Too Human could be considered for GOTS.

Omg, stop the trolling.
SMG gets the votes because it looks so damn better than everything else. Wii has, too, enough other awsome games, but even though i love SSBB, Mario Galaxy is a bit better. Sorry that no Sony-game could overtrump other PS3-games that much.

Killzone 2: just because it was new and impressed me a bit, I really expected it to be
dissapointing. Looks very good graphically as well.

Runner up:

R & C: TOD: Looks amazing, as good as any other console game, and fun as well.

LittleBigPlanet :)

Runner up: Uncharted, I think it looks even better than it did before

Killzone definitely gets the honourable mention, well done to GG.

I think Mass Effect's branching conversation system, or whatever it's called, is catching a lot of people's attention, besides the graphics and huge universe.

Fallout is greatly overlooked, but a large portion of console gamers never played it's predecessors, so...

It's dangerous to jump on the Peter Moly hype train before more is revealed.

Yeah, Mass Effect doesn't seem like it will live up to Star Fox Adventures.

"Phrase not found"

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Real answer in Mario Galaxy, but Contra IV comes close
The problem is, there were many great games that were shown, but Mario Galaxy just eclipses all the others. So, we're given only the vote for ONE game, and here's mine:
