Logitech's new Pro Gaming Mouse

Got mine today. A little bit smaller than I thought it would be but I really like it.

I had a G502 and I never liked the weird rubber grips and I would have problems with it stuttering making precise movements. I think it was due to the weight and you couldn't really make very subtle movements with it. The Pro doesn't have that problem at all.

I wish it was maybe slightly taller but other than that, it's comfortable, simple and instantly one of the best mice I've had.

I thought this was going to be my next mouse but the 403 wireless posted earlier seems just as good. What is the benefit of this over that one? Are Logitech wireless mice known to be accurate for gaming?

This and the G403 use the same sensor, so it will be down to shape preference, they'll most likely perform just the same.

The wireless found in the 403 is the same as in the G900 which has the best wireless gaming performance you can find today for mice. Read some reviews on the latter. I recommend watching Rocket Jump Ninjas review of the G900.

I'm very satisfied with it.

Looks like a good mouse. At least it doesn't look like freaking transformer...

Still using my old trusted and cheap a4tech xl-750f though

Throughout the years it only had two problems. One was the wheel, that started jerking and didn't register up/down movement properly. Which was an easy fix - just a dab of oil on the potentiometer (original is crap and dries to quickly). The other was more severe though. Since the cable inside was improperly placed by the manufacturer and basically squished between screw holes. The result was broken cable after couple months. Again easy fix with a little soldering. Rock solid since.

PS/2 devices are interrupt based and not polled like USB devices are. They also don't have to go though the usb controllers as well too.
They are polled. PS/2 mouse port has default poll rate of 125Hz (from what i remember) that can be tuned up to 200Hz (again if memory serves me right). So when it comes to mouse it's better to use USB.
Keyboard is another story though. And PS/2 is better in that case.

Was expecting Michael Bay's Transformers... was pleasantly surprised by its simple, understated design. Will keep an eye on this!

For you guys looking at the G403, RocketJumpNinja published his youtube review.

Logitech G403 Prodigy Review (Wired and Wireless Versions)

As for the G Pro, I really like it but I've found myself using the G303 way more often than not, especially while gaming in like... an FPS or something.

Do you know when the G403 is supposed to release? I'm considering that over the G Pro because its shape is almost identical to my current mouse, the Zowie EC2-A (which has been double clicking for ages now).

Very nice! I like the standard mice but with the better sensors.

I actually have the "angular" G303. I love it. Seems to fit my hand perfectly. I was actually looking for something more traditional like this, but everything is so fucking gaudy. The G303 was about as muted as I could find for a reasonable price with a good sensor. Very happy with it, but if it happens to disappear or something, this one looks like a good next step

....although I would rather have had the old G500

logitech-g500-side-view.jpg

the GOAT. fits in the palm of my hand perfectly and comfortably.

this Pro Gaming Mouse looks tiny and needs more buttons.

Logitech has a bazillion other mice that are loaded with buttons for people like you who want them. Let us simple-gaming-mouse folk have this one product that appeals to us.

Hmm 22 hours with the light on. Can I charge it while using it? Although I guess that would defeat the purpose lol
From what I understand, it's practically the same wireless system as the one in the G900, so I'm assuming they work the same. If that's the case, then yeah, it comes with a cable that you can use to plug it in, and a little female USB to female micro-usb adapter so you can keep the wireless receiver closer. The only reason I use that thing is so the cable is always just plugged in and nearby if I need it to charge my mouse.
So yeah, you can use it as a "wired-mouse" plugged in. Pretty sure you could use any old micro-usb cable to plug it in, but the one that comes with it is pretty nice (it has like... a thing to keep it dragging too closely to the mouse).
Currently waiting for local stores to get G403, seems like a really good choice at this moment.
I think stores still don't even have the G Pro in stock. BestBuy doesn't have a page for it and Amazon says they won't be in stock until the 20th. I guess you'd get them quickest if you ordered from Logitech themselves, but I think prices tend to be better after they're out for a while at an actual store. Who knows when the G403 hits stores, the page at Logi still says "Pre-order."

Want to make sure it's the right mouse for me, and local stores have lot better return policies (30 days, no questions asked) than Logitechs own store. My hand is pretty small, I've yet to have problems because of it but when spending this much I just need to be sure it fits perfectly.
Hopefully it doesn't take many weeks though, kinda craving to switch from my Xai - the lift-off distance in this is killing it for me.

Yeah that makes sense. Getting a feel for a mouse to see if you like it is smart.

Some dude on the overclock forums said that he sent a ticket asking when his preorder would ship or something and they told him it releases Sept 30th.

Seems like there's lot of demand for these mouses, last I checked biggest online store here they reported they'd have them on 15. but now checking again shipping date is "unknown".
I guess this is "return to form" of sorts for Logitech from the Space Ship designs.

So...

There's another mouse that's in the same shell as the GPro. It's a budget mouse and doesn't seem to be sold outside of South Korea (I'm not actually sure about this), but it's easily found on ebay for like... 35-45 dollars with free shipping.

The G102 Prodigy. Ino's Review
nGZDbKO.jpg
- I added the text, just so that it's clear where this picture came from.

Supposedly it has a new sensor that, while not as good as the PMW3366, still performs really well.
Ino said:
That is really the best looking budget sensor I’ve ever seen.
He also had great things to say about the cable (which is non-braided)
Ino said:
The cable is the best cable of any Logitech mouse I’ve ever seen. If I didn’t have a modded G Pro with a paracord cable I’d use the G102 over the Pro just for the cable.
People in the review thread are echoing this.

Only appears to have one on-device profile like the GPro which is a shame. I like that I can switch between 3 on my G303 (I only really use 2 of them, though)

Ino said:
If I had to decide now between G102 and G Pro I’d pick the G102 100%.
I kinda want to get one lol, to do what he said he did with his and put my GPro in a white shell (I'd see if I could swap cables too, though).

Seems like it could be an option for those who thought the GPro was interesting, but too expensive (which seems to be PCGamer's opinion on the GPro, as their review went up just 3 days ago)

If anyone's curious since we talked about it earlier: I've had a G403 Wireless for like... two and a half weeks now and I like it too. For me with heavy use the battery lasts about two days, but I guess it could be longer if I disabled the lights and has charged from nearly 10% battery to full in around an hour. I really like the feel a wireless mouse sometimes and used it to play Shadow Warrior 2 for a while, but I still tend to use my G303 as my main.

Yeah, that looks right. I did a search earlier for white ones, but I came up empty too. I kinda hate ordering stuff from asia on ebay though, since I'm impatient and hate waiting weeks for my shipment (I blame Amazon Prime).

edit: I hope they actually do make white ones, and the white one used for review wasn't some pre-production only thing that he only got because they send him mice months ahead apparently so he can do his reviews...

It would be weird to make a white one and put it in a retail box like that, only to sell it in black. It seems like most of the ones sold on ebay are from bulk orders at PC bangs in asia. Thinking about grabbing one....

The white is sexy but it would get dirty and not match my keyboard hehe

Another owner of the MX518 here. In the age of programmed obsolescence Logitech quality has won me over so when it brokes its good to see that we have good alternativas from them, I also dislike spaceship designs so a cleaner one like this is welcomed.

YO AMAZON has this for 35$$$$$$!!! Just ordered it as well as the Prodigy 403 wireless from Frys for the same price. I'm not sure which I want

Before buying a wireless mouse consider the weight of the mouse. While i love my G900, sometimes i find it a bit heavy when playing OW or other multiplayer shooter.

Damn, that looks nice. Half the price of the G Pro if buying from Ebay. Weird though I don't see any white versions on Ebay, only black (which I prefer anyway). But seems odd, like I'm not looking at the right mouse

This is the same one right? Sold in bulk packaging so I'm not too sure how I feel about that..

What's best? G403 or Pro? Is the 403 better in terms of ergonomics?

So I don't know if I just need to get used to them or what, but I bought the G403 Wireless and the G Pro on Black Friday and still prefer my MX518. I don't know what it is, it's just the most comfortable for me.

That being said, anybody interested in buying either mouse? Basically brand new, used maybe 30 minutes. If not, I'm just going to return to the store. I got them on sale. I was thinking like 50$ shipped to cover shipping and boxes etc. but I need to double check shipping prices.

Can someone explain what has happened to the prices? I bought my G400 a long time ago, brand new for 28,49 EUR, the G500 cost 50 EUR back then (that's why I took the G400). When I look at the prices now... 60-70EUR for the G403, 70 EUR for G400 and 170 EUR (!) for the G500. What the hell, is that due to being discontinued models?

Unfortunately they arent made anymore (and they have terrible QA issues) but the finalmouse 2015 ergo was straight up the mx518 with a 3366 sensor. Fucking awesome mouse

If anyone is on the fence over the G403 - I just replaced my EC2-A with it and I love the mouse. You can definitely tell a difference using the new 3366 sensor and its also extremely light. One issue people might have with the mouse is that the hump where your palm is is a bit too high. Another issue is that the lift off distance is a biiiit low compared to what I'm used to. Overall I think its a fantastic mouse and its probably the best mouse logitech has made since the 518!

I'm still stuck in the dark ages of a two buttoned mouse.

From what I can see here there's two buttons on the side, left and right buttons, scroll wheel, wheel click and another button directly beneath it.

Can every one of them be configured for a different action in say, a fps?

I could assign 8 different commands in that case which would be fantastic.

Anyone?

That's correct.

Some high praise and from a 1.6 player to boot, but I don't think I wanna go back to having Logitech garbage installed on my PC. Zowie is 2sweet.

Where have you been? Haha

I use my MX Master for gaming now, but this seems like a better choice.

Once zowie actually bothers to update their products with the newest gen of sensors I can see myself switching back.

Yeah, the MX510 was the best mouse I've ever had. I wish they still offered those two.

Most likely. For example the G500 has been replaced by the G500s. The prices (in USD) I see on Amazon are shown here:

If the model is no longer manufactured, then supply is low and prices rise from third party sellers.

I see. Amazon won't even list the old G500 in my country:

Seems there are remainders of this mouse in the USA.

I had a few MX518/G400 back in the day, but they ended up randomly disconnecting sooner or later. After that I switched to G700 wireless, which was good, but it drained battery so fast, and finally started registering some clicks as double. Now I have an MX Master that has much better battery life. I don't think it's advertised as a gaming mouse, but I've had no complaints so far.

I went from a razer naga / nega?
Shit quality great controls. Died on me after 1 year

To a logitech g502
Great quality shit controls.

I miss my razer naga .. 1 hand pc gaming ftw.

Is it possible to fully use the G403 without having the Logitech program installed? Don't give a shit about the lights working tbh.

While I don't have a G403, I do own a G303, and I only had to open the Logitech drivers once to change the light and choose my 2 sensitivities, after a clean windows install my mouse worked fine even when there was no trace of the Logitech drivers, I still don't even have them installed. Light still has the same color. I can still switch between my two sensitivities, heck, it even stays like that on Linux, so yeah, I assume you can use the (wired?) version of the G403 without drivers.
