Lollipop Chainsaw Screenshots (Grasshopper, PS3/360)

Ugh more of this.

Don't get me wrong, I love No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned.(If you couldn't tell.) But I can't helped but be disappointed. Of course I'll buy this day 1, but I really want GHM to go back to their roots and make more deeper, twisted shit along the lines of Flower, Sun, and Rain and Killer 7.
my thoughts exactly
which is why i'm hoping suda is directing his own game, besides this

Like what? Call of Honor: Normal Warfare?
Actually, the hyper-ordinary might be a fun scene for Suda to tackle next. Like that Bulletstorm 'demo', Duty Calls, but less on-the-nose.

I love how polarizing this game already is and all we've got is some basic details and the first batch of screenshots.

As someone who loved Shadows of the Damned and its stupid sense of humor, consider my interest piqued.

It's possible to critique things like character design with just those first batch of screenshots. While I think it's okay, I certainly don't think it's great. Yes, it's all in good fun, but there's a point where being in good fun stops being good fun and trips over the tiny line into "well that's just plain sad" territory. I'm undecided as to where this falls right now.

So, I take it someone's already preparing the BOMBA thread?
I'm prepping my wallet for the British prices already!

Wow. Even though its a Grasshopper game, I'm still a bit surprised.

I don't think this is something I want to buy, but it's interesting for sure.

I have a strange feeling that I've seen that exact pose in another game featuring a similar over the top hack and slash theme...

The "zombie/demon face looking back in glee" reminds me of Doom's cover:

Looks like what I hoped for, Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers x No More Heroes. I hope it's sweet.

It does, but damn it is bothering me that pose, I've seen it before somewhere.

On a different note, the day I get tired of looking at upskirts shots of nubile videogame females is the day I might as well hang the old cock up for permenant retirement.

Doesnt look like it has a big budget so it could do well in small numbers. Seriously though I never get the uptight repressed sexual whining that happens with these games. She clearly looks sexually mature, high spectrum of anime look and its not like its some rape simulation, just some skin you would see at a beach or football game.

That is, until you unlock the venus swim wear.

It's been clarified that it's fine when talking about fictional characters.
Does that me we can break out racist terms like the n-bomb or call homosexual characters 'fags' if we're talking about fictional characters?

The whites (and thus the entire image) very clearly have a yellow tint to them. That isn't a comment on quality, just a fact.

I'm interested since it's a Suda 51 game. Although the pink sprays of light won't appeal to the western market.

This game needs real sprays of blood for the western market. I'm not really into overly violent games, but that's what sells. Like Mortal Kombat. I think one of the reasons why it has such long legs is its violence.

And it needs some marketing, something Shadows of the Damned lacked.

You don't see the horrendous drab saturated yellows of Unreal Engine bloom abuse?

Would you kindly donate your eyes to me, because I really would like to unsee that characteristic among many other things.

Wrong here's a better look with photoshop:

Auto-tone please.

Now, if only there was a filter to do something about that depth of field fog making everything just tiny bit far away grey then we would be onto something.

I'll admit I don't have the best eyes but...those all look the same to me.

Guess you can go ahead and take mine, I didn't see anything that yellowish (although I see slight differences in her skin tone and socks in that comparison image). It's not distracting or noticeable to me.

It's very possible you have a poorly calibrated monitor, but yeah, it's like a night and day contrast for me and others.

Wow, this is very No More Heores-esque. I would normally be ashamed to even be thinking about wanting this game, but fuck that. If they can be unashamed about making this game, then I feel okay declaring that this looks interesting.

Grasshopper, eh? I'm already tired of the boring combat and I haven't even started playing. Should be funny enough to be worth a playthrough anyway.

Looks fucking stupid.

So I'll buy it.

I think the easiest difference to see in those pictures is by looking at her skin tone. The first one is the darkest and the third one is the lightest. The same goes for the street and her knee socks.

I'm not a game developer so maybe I'm just misinformed about this, but isn't that color a choice of the developer's as opposed to the engine's limitation? Can you really not adjust the color of bloom in Unreal?
