Lost Winds (WiiWare) = instabuy

Bought it, played it, loved it.

Ended up with 21 statues. Any reason I need to find the others? Do you get anything?

I need help. I've just recovered the Slip Stream, and so far, I've noticed two areas sealed off by a a kind of cage. In both locations, there is a boulder nearby, which would suggest that the boulder must be "gusted" into them to break them. I've tried but it hasn't worked. Does anyone know how to destroy them?
You can't break those yet, explore elsewhere and don't worry about them for now.

I've played it for almost an hour now. It's not too bad, but it's far too easy. It's polished enough, but I need at least a little bit of difficulty to get fully engaged and this game isn't providing that so far.

The challenge ramps up a bit for the last 1/3 of the game.

What's the significance of the little blue things I'm picking up?

I must have missed the little pop-up explaining it.

If you collect enough of them to fill up a container in the corner, it acts as an extra life.

I got all the 24, nothing happened.

Would be neat if you could use your save in the sequel and having all of them unlocks something. Make it happen, Frontier!

ugh i posted about this on another forum I frequent telling everyone to buy it and of course some asshole replies with the patented "YOUDONTHAVETOBUYITJUSTHACKYOURWII" respose. I feel sick to my stomach knowing that idiots like him are going to keep actual consumers like me from enjoying quality products like this....

How does this relate to Enlil then?

fake edit: looking it up, Wikipedia says that in the movie they are Sumerian gods. They're not, and I don't see how they could even suggest that. Sumerian doesn't even have the phoneme /o/ ...

You are such a mythology whore. I cant believe you are a video game fan at all, with popular media's pension for mixing and screwing up mythologies

people are stupid. call it the 'wizard's fist rule' or Einstein's infinity postulate, does not matter.

for every occasion a fucktard thinks they 'cheated the system cause they're oh so sly' on one occasion, the system reacts and rams it up their asses on another, and even though they surely feel the latter, they cannot make the mental connection to the former. so they, being inherently dumb, keep repeating the same mistake.

unfortunately the system makes no difference across individuals so the retribution affects everybody. c'est la vie. i'm not even talking games in particular, it's just that they are no exception from the general principle.

She is likely very happy

Picked it up due to GAFHype and I have not been disappointed. One of the mos relaxing and straight up enjoyable Wii games. I've only had maybe an hour or two with it so far, but as of now I'm putting it in my top 3 Wii games (other 2 are SMG and MKWii).

Haha, in that first video, there's a scene where Toku smashes a gate with fruit. Yesterday I tried the same maneuver in the exact same location, and all I got was smashed fruit yet intact gate :(

It's possible to smash gates with just about every 'item' in the game. Even enemies.

I'm not particularly pleased or anything, but did you really expect a hollywood movie to be anything remotely authentic?

Yes, clearly. I live on your anguish.

Anyway back on the subject, Lost Winds is really fun. As it's "short" I've been really taking my time, fooling around (I love having Enril flash around his wind power with villagers who react nicely), and just exploring for the sake of it. Everything is so nicely designed!

I also took my time with it simply because it's too fun to just fool around. So many nice details.

So it's really worth it? Lostwinds? Yes?

Illiterate? Incompetent?

Of course it's worth it, provided you enjoy the game. Based on how many people are expressing positive opinions, and your own tastes, you could probably make an informed decision. Or not, given that you actually asked whether it was worth it after pages of positive opinions.

I've been enjoying it quite a bit. The main character is simply a joy to control; a lot like Mario, this game would be entertaining for awhile if you just put the main character in an empty room. There's just something super fun about blopwing the main character and objects to and fro with the wind. It's also quite relaxing, the graphics are charming, the exploration is fun, and all in all it's a nice break from shooting hookers.

Ah, another great Barkley's Justice post in a Nintendo thread. Please do post again when you finally do power up the system... or another billion times telling us how you never turn on your Wii.

i beat it in like 2 and a half hours, but i really liked it.
Well.. I'm sure one can beat it really fast, but then you miss stuff and there's more to do in the game.

My timer stopped at 3 hours and 20 minutes when I was done, but I took my time and I found all but 2 hidden totems. Then I went back and found the other two in 12 minutes. So all in all it took me 3 hours and 32 minutes to find everything in the game.

holy crap dude...that's a little harsh.

After spending 20 minutes rearranging my save data and getting about 10 disconnects, I was finally able to download the game. It was worth every tedious micromanaging moment.

I noticed I became very fond of Toku while playing the game, kind of in the same way I became fond of Ico. His interactions with Enril's powers and the world around him are really charming.

But seriously, get it man. The game is so relaxing and fun, I'm sure you'll love it after some minutes of playing.

I'm having trouble collecting the last
memory chest
.

Can anyone tell me where Wither Falls is? I'm sure I'll look foolish, but I'm having trouble finding it. It's a small world map, and I still have trouble. Christ.

Is Withering Falls in the beginning cavern area, the middle outdoors area, or the hilltop community area furthest to the right?

Thanks.

EDIT: N/M, think I got it now.

I was holding off buying anything on Wii Ware till Nintendo confirmed some sort of storage solution, but my girlfriend called me from home and just finished watching a trailer for this on Nintendo Channel. "You're buying this tonight, right?" she asks, with that sort of zeal in her voice that I know means yes, I am in fact buying it tonight.

So yeah, I guess I'm gonna find out if all the hype is warranted.

Withering falls is to the west. I'd say North west, not 100% sure though, although it is west, past the now rebuilt bridge.

I don't understand why people have problems finding Wither Falls. There's even a woman talking about it next to the broken bridge and if you continue past that you get to an area with a giant waterfall in the background. Don't you guys read?

I'm sorry to be this random, but I think you guys need to chill.

There's another area to the far right of the game with a water fall.

I also forgot about the original starting area, so when I went back there, I found it.

I was a bit hasty in asking for help, but I eventually did find it myself.

I do read, and I hope that you too could read that I was politely asking for some help. That's all. Hell, I even acknowledged that it was ridiculous that I couldn't find it.

Anyways, thanks Pillowknight. If I hadn't of found it when I did, your advice would have gotten me there.

OH MY GOD THIS GAME IS SO AWESOME AND RELAXING I JUST CAN'T GET OVER HOW AWESOME AND RELAXING IT IS OH MY GOD.

I am "chilling", I just think it's strange that people freak out and can't find the waterfall when there are instructions on how to find them in the game.

If you can't find it just run around for a while, and most of all - talk to the people.. it's not a large game by any means. You should be able to find it without asking for help.

Why couldn't they put a damn checklist or something for those stupid statues? I have 23 out of 24 now and I don't really feel like wasting my time looking for the last one. And it would be nice if you were allowed to lock the camera in the zoomed out position instead of having to play the game while constantly holding down on the dpad and destroying my thumb in the process.

Hey at least he didn't post it through interpretive rap like most of his posts.

The Boom Blox thread that has so many positive reviews convinced me to pick up that game and it's fantastic. This thread has the same vibe to it so I'm gonna pick this game up.

P.S. If you haven't bought Boom Blox please pick it up. It's amazing and deserves a sequel.
