GTX 1080 @ 1080p = 61 fps?
dafuq.

I can get 60FPS outdoors with a 4790k @4GHz, GTX 780 6GB and 16GB RAM, but that does mean dropping almost everything to low/medium bar geometry detail - and even then, who knows if it'll maintain that consistently?
I've barely played it yet as I can't get it to show button prompts when using an XB1 controller - they just show as blank spaces where the button images should be. Is anyone playing with a controller and has managed to get it to show button prompts?
Hmm, strange. Are you running via USB or wireless? I'm using a controller direct via USB, but the prompts just don't show.yeah i'm playing with an xbo controller and prompts show just fine.

I wonder if that's the issue then, as bizarre as it'd be. I don't have the adapter to test. May try a DS4 controller later and see if that works any better.wireless
Let me clearly state that Mafia III is very tricky to measure. The overall framerate can be off by an extensive amount depending on what location you are in the city, with denser populated and higher buildings in the city center your framerate will be lower to the level as shown in our benchmark charts. Also variables like the weather and even day/night conditions and the car you drive and yes .. traffic can have an effect on performance. Driving in a car eats away deeper in your framerate opposed to walking inside a building. We use a scene where we drive and where the FPS was worst case scenario. So overall your FPS will likely be a nice notch higher, but you will run into situations where the FPS is close to values as shown above.
NVIDIA are optimising a ton less and putting pressure on devs to put in expensive features to make you jump to 10XX generation. Nothing else really.
Jumping to a 1440p monitor with a 970 was such a shady decision on my part tbh
I wonder by what magic this game runs on consoles at all.So to maintain 60fps you need an i7 or something similar from AMD. If you have an i5 (even if its 6th gen) this won't happen.

Yep, it uses 100% of my CPU (i5600k clocked to 4.4)
Still, we're talking about a 1.6GHz Jaguar here. I know comparing PC to consoles like this is not right, but I'm really interested in knowing how consoles do what they do on such a weak hardware.well because the game runs alright at 30fps. not a chance in hell of sticking 60.
My money is on CPU being a big impacter on performance. My 6700k doesn't seem to go above 90% utilisation on any core and I'm not getting frame rate drops.

This ALL needs to be fixed.
Well, at least Titan XP is okay.
i7 6700K

Everything is set to high (including AA and Reflections), fluctuates between 55 and 70. With AA and Reflections set to Low, and Shadows to Medium, it goes 60+ up to 90. Still in the first hour.
I didn't have any crashes until I tried SweetFX, they stopped when I uninstalled it, so if anyone is using it to unblur the game and have crashes maybe that's why.
Do you think we can expect SLI support or it's clearly off the table?
between this and another poster its clear the game is dependent on processor and ram, ive got the same settings and pretty much a build one step lower than this and im between 50 and 60

No luck for me - tried a DS4 both over USB and with the Sony wireless adapter, in addition to the XB1 controller, and nothing. This is what the button configuration options screen looks like too:Im using a DS4 over bluetooth with DS4Windows and the prompts show up just fine.
I might have spoken too soon. In the first area it was giving me 60~90 when setting things to Low, but now after the introI'm getting 50~65 in the open world (Medium AA/ Medium Reflection), with occasional drops to as low as 46. Thankfully my G-Sync monitor smooths this out and it never bothered me, but this poor performance is certainly annoying. CPU was at 60~65% utilization, GPU was expectedly 100%.(after the events of the robbery)
Just tried again with Low Reflections and High AA and the lowest I'm getting is 59 (goes as high as 75 in the city). Turning it from Medium to Low gave me more than 10fps back. Insane.

That explains it.
I have an i7 and have been running fine, and it's not even maxing out my CPU.
Also, since I posted yesterday, I was playing until 3am. No crashes.
Why is this only getting to max 59fps?
