MANATEE -- A man is facing several charges after he burglarized a home on Wednesday, allowed the victim to take photos of him as he was trying to escape and showed up to a drug test with heroin, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The victim arrived at her home in the 5100 block of 40th Street West at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and noticed some of her things were out of place, before a Steven Haynes, 26, came out of a room and tried to push past her, according to a release.

The victim grabbed onto Haynes, suspecting that his backpack was filled with her possessions, and managed to dump items out of the bag, including her credit cards and jewelry, deputies said. She refused to let go of him until he allowed her to take pictures of him with her cell phone and she knocked the socks that he was wearing on his hands off.

Haynes ran away, having to pull on the doorknob with his bare hands to get out.

Deputies came on scene and were able to identify Haynes in past mugshots because his chest tattoo was partially visible in one of the photos the woman took, according to a news release.

Deputies found out Haynes was due for a drug screen with probation, and the probation officer was called in case Haynes showed up.

The next day, deputies were finishing an arrest warrant when they were alerted by the probation officer that Haynes was waiting in the lobby to take a drug test. Deputies responded to the location and took Haynes into custody.

Haynes said he had not broken into the home, but had been invited in to have some Gatorade, according to the release. He was also in possession of a spoon, capped needle and six baggies of heroin while waiting to take his drug test.

There is still an earring missing from the victim's home, which was not with Haynes when he was arrested.

Haynes is charged with burglary with assault, possession with intent to sell heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violations. He is being held without bond in the Manatee County jail.

Because clearly inviting random strangers into your house for Gatorade is the thing to do now.

OP you forgot one very basic thing.

FLORIDA MAN Arrested! This is one of the most quintessentially Florida stories I've read. The cops ID'd him from a chest tattoo!
