Manchester United get Pogba for record-breaking €120+ million

He's gonna have to have some amazing matches to not be considered a flop, at least with goalscorers a couple of 25+ goal seasons/a 30 goal season won't be considered a bad signing.

We bought Reus back for €17m, which was a huge price to pay for us back then.
Reus is a steal for 17 Mio considering how good he was last season

Nah. I initially thought that about Vidal and Coman, both proved me wrong.

I didn't about those two, but I do think Pogs will flop at Utd.

There's about 0% that he will flop in the EPL. He was made for that league.

Yeah, that's why SAF got rid of him.

He's going to have to be bloody brilliant, carrying Utd on numerous occasions to live up to that fee, even in this silly, inflated market.

True but they just spent 75 million on one player.

Pogba needs to score a lot of goals for that fee.

No he doesn't, you guys are clueless.

Goals scored is the measure that justifies the signing of any player?

Complete nonsense.

The fee is no problem to United, only supporters of teams that can't operate at that level are the ones taking about it / making statements about what he needs to do to justify it.

Will be in for Griezmann next season, another big fee, small teams and managers will cry about it.

Ferguson didn't get rid of him because of his ability to play in the PL, why are you making up nonsense?

Juve laughing to the bank.
I thought we could get them to pay Raiola's fees, too, so this is a little disappointing.

I think Pogba's fantastic, and will get better, and I wish we could have kept him. But you can't turn down nine figures of profit on a 23 year-old you paid nothing for.

He wasn't "made for the premier league"

Utd have spent 500m in 5 seasons, failed twice to get CL, and their fans still assume every expensive player will do wonders for them

If United don't win the league this year, it has to be regarded as a failure. They've made City and Chelsea look tame in the past 3 years with their spending.

Money is basically meaningless to the top clubs now. Everyone is trying to justify the price, but the price doesn't matter. There's too much money in the game, especially in the EPL.

He'll flop

Nah, he won't. He didn't have a great euros but I've watched him a lot with Juventus the last few seasons and he can do everything. As a midfielder he really has it all. No one is worth that much money but if your paying it for anyone in this crazy football market it might as well be him.

So what? What's that got to do with how Pogba will perform in this league? Fergies quotes? He messed up letting Pogba go and made a series of excuses.

As for our spending, plenty of other clubs have spent similar amounts and have less to show.

United have plenty of money, spending it isn't a concern, only for those that can't.

Here's hoping.

I'm an Arsenal fan, but the leagues at it's best when all the teams are competitive, and Utd have been boring as fuck to watch for a while now

That seems low compared to the hundred million pounds they paid for his rights.

That 250 k euros per week.

Football doesn't work like American sports. It's standard.

Besides, there is a tendency to quote the full length of contracts when it comes to American league sports in general, such as 100 000 000 for a 12 year contract, which is not that exceptional when you think about it.

Well, son, the joke's on you then.

Sadness.T_T I thought Pogba will help Juve this year to reach UCL for Buffon at least here.T_T Especially when Juve had so many good signing already here.T_T

Guess money power is just too powerful to be ignored.T_T

As an Arsenal fan you ought to be more worried about your teams impotence in the transfer market, not how much one of the richest clubs in the world spend.

Different league from then. Quality and teams especially on the defensive side are borderline trash. The league was already on the decline when SAF left.

With that being said it's way too much to spend on one player. With Mourinho's typical lack of attack Pogba's sure going to get the blame when they are not scoring.

Alright touchy.

Obviously Arsenal fans are sick of how bad we are in the transfer market, it's not like our fans are quiet now is it?

I'd love the club to throw 100m at players in the hope of winning the league, but it doesn't look like we'll do that

That's because we had Moyes and van Gaal in charge. Di Maria would have been fucking great at United under Mourinho, instead van Gaal shackled him.

Yes, I know

Mourinho has a tendency to play boring football too though

I'm sad because he's a fantastic player but 13m net per year... we could have never matched that offer.

Oh well, we will be fine, hoping for a good replacement (hopefully not Witsel.)

Arsenal's "impotence" has proven more effective than Utd's "fling shit at the wall until something sticks" technique these past few years.

I dont think Pogba will flop. ManU will flop . They just cant seem to get a level headed guy as a coach. Mourinho will turn out a huge mistake. Look at what he did with chelsea last season.

Yep, we're more consistent at gaining a champions league place

Pointless mentioning anything though, since we're apparently concerned with Utd's financial wellbeing

Yaaas I don't need to sign him in FM2017 now. He was easy enough to sign in 2016 though. Always got him for around 60-70m.
