Hiramaru is great as usual.
Rule #1: Never insult Shonen Jump.
Ohba definitely speaking through Mashiro here.
Battle lines are set, the gloves are off. I think this is the first serious "character vs. character" confrontation so far.
And I just remembered that Eiji still has that trump card.

Bakuman
I accidentally read the comments here first before reading the chapter, but anyway I thought it was really good. Finally a real conflict.

KHR 326

OMG I wouldnt mind having the Rain Necklace, it looks simply stunning. Daemon Spade didnt "nufufu" this chapter :( Oh well, simply phenomenal and I cant wait to see Yama use his two sword style, so hopefully the flashback does not last the entirety of the next chapter, please. Confusing ending I think, in the end its just Daemon Spade versus the guardians and Shimon (1 vs many?) and he somehow still won...

Bakuman 121:

It looks like we have to wait even longer for Saiko and Shujin's new manga idea because of this 10 week proclamation. I would have preferred Saiko and Shujin beat Nanamine with a new manga instead of PCP that way we could move along with the "we need an anime" plot. But maybe PCP will lose/get canceled and Saiko and Shujin will be forced to come up with a new idea anyway.

I still think it would have been better if Nanamine wasn't made into a "clear" antagonist but regardless this is going to make Bakuman more interesting.

I can also see this happening but only if Saiko and Shujin lose and Nanamine does something worse than hurting Kosugi's pride/feelings.

The condition was that he had to be number one in Jump though and since he's not I really don't see that happening.

Besides, I doubt that we'll ever see Eiji cancel a series.

Nurarihyon 138

That was a really sudden entrance for the science teacher. Chapter didn't really make too much sense either, but okay.

Bakuman

The guy's starting to get a little annoying (in the sense that they're forcing antagonism onto him). I'm not really feeling the need to crush him in 10 weeks. He's a douche and he cheats, but if he'll really go down successfully, I won't really feel THAT satisfied like with other antagonists.

Beelzebub was awesome.

Re-reading Furuba. My god, this shit is terrible. It's like the hand of God making sure everyone gets some action. High School Girls for all!

Ayame is still a boss though >_<

No, Daemon Spade is with Primo. Right now the 1st gen guardians are with Cozart and they're fighting against the "overwhelming forces" that the Shimon family was up against. Well, the 1st gen guardians are there to protect Cozart.

Oh wow then Im confused, lol. Daemon Spade is doing nothing then? Shimon would just lose from being weak or something, I guess I dont really understand.

Well the current enemies are unidentified. Just another family that had it out for the Shimon probably.

When primo and his family heard the news, Primo said that he would go, but his guardians said that he shouldn't put himself in danger. Daemon said that he would go and support him instead.

Primo said thanks, Daemon sent people under his control (or so he thought) to the battlefield with orders to finish off Cozart. Daemon went back to the Vongola Family's Hideout to meet with Primo. The people Daemon sent to the battlefield are actually Primo's guardians. Chapter ends.

Oh thanks, that clears it up, for some reason I thought Daemon himself went to take care of Cozart

Air Gear

And Buccha wins with SCIENCE. Seriously, I don't think that's how thalassotherapy works. Oh well, Oh! Great seems to be having fun at least while I'm left confused.

These fights still make zero sense.

i don't think i've read a chapter of air gear in the longest. i usually just skim through it and get the gist of it.

k Manga-GAF my reading week break just started and I'm in a mood to read more manga outside of the weekly trio and FT. Are there any manga under 10 volumes or similar to that number that are done? There were couple of manga that I keep seeing people post about them here like Homunculus or Biscuit and Hammer. Are they any good? There were a lot more manga that I kept seeing here but can't remember their names now.

Biscuit Hammer is good.

The honest truth. It also helps that it wasn't drawn out to holy hell like other matches

One thing I'm curious about is, why the hell is the president still in that girls body?

Yeah, definitely. I still don't really understand the whole Gazelle/Lind stuff. But to be honest, I wasn't really paying attention.

For any Jojo's Bizarre Adventure fan(I know you're out there) Steel Ball Run will end in the next 3 volumes. So this means around summer or a bit before part 7 will end and we'll see part 8. Also yes it still pains me that our translations are so far behind.

Something about gazille being cloned into a male body, and....actually, I got nothing. I have no idea where agito/akito came from...

Part 8 has already been confirmed?

Well, I looked it up, and apparently Akito/Agito/Lind is the son of Kaito and Gazelle. Makes a lot more sense now.

Bakuman

Naniname is a fucking cuntbag. I'm tired of his shtick, I hope he just falls off very soon. I wasn't impressed by Saiko and Shujin's threats either, I was much more comfortable when they were calm like in last chapter. Not paying him any mind is the best way to show your superiority.

I don't really care for PCP either (it doesn't help that they haven't shown any of its progression). Nor do I care for their rivalry. I care about Eiji versus Ashirogi. Not this douche. I hope they jump to their new manga soon, and it better be at the caliber of Money And Intelligence (their best idea yet, followed by Future Watch) or better yet, let them bring back and actually use Money and Intelligence. Then, let them get to Eiji and it will be awesome.

Lastly, Hiramaru is awesome as hell. Provides great humor (I love how his segments are like his own mini-manga within Bakuman), he deserves to be with Aoki all the way and to have a good manga, I hope they end up working on something together. The fact that Hiramaru didn't get in thanks to this Light wannabe makes him even more hated.

Pretty much this.

I didn't see how he was a "bad guy" last chap, he just had his own way of doing shit (he still decided on which ideas to use and which not to and it seems like he draws the pages himself). But now ... the author is clearly cranking his dickery up to the top level to make everyone reading HATE him because even if they didn't fall in line with the thought that he is wrong they now see him as a ass for how he acts. Kinda like with Sas going from wanting to kill Itachi to being full blown dark side dick head but instead of it being over arcs its over a few chaps.

And I hated the phone yelling part. In fate, this whole conflict is stupid. They're all like "What you're doing is wrong WRONG WRONG!!! We're gonna prove it by CRUSHING YOU!!!!" When they actually should be minding their own buzz and allow the fans to prove it or not by allowing him to succeed or fail on his own. If he can pull it off then good for him and his editor, editor gets a free ride and dude shames all editors by showing that he doesn't need them YET keeps said proof to himself. He fails and can't build a stable fanbase then theres your proof, you suck because you lack "soul/ sweat/ dick" or w/e they're trying to prove.

Monster

I've just started to reread the series since I recommended it to someone and I realized I had seen the anime but only gotten half -way through the manga; I assumed they were the same.

The thing I love about the series is the character development. Each arc has a purpose. Characters that seem like redemption is unattainable find a way to get where they need to be. Others tread the line between good and bad with such care.

Damn.

catching up on bakuman ( seems like a bad time to do so, eh), and im starting to appreciate the translations of manga titles that the previous group did. it really slows me down when i come across the untranslated title and try to figure out what they're talking about. guess i'll have to switch...

We are currently planning a takeover of the series starting two weeks from now. I'll forward your recommendations to the translator.

So I'm watching the Kekkashi anime and was wondering if after I finish the anime can I jump right into the manga or should I start over?

The anime ends after the first major arc, so if you can find the chapter numbers, you can continue right where it left off

Not sure what was hard to follow, bad guy introduced, Nura's underling asks him for help to deal with it, they head off and encounter it. I was hoping there would be some chapters like these before things get more serious again.

I would like to see some more stuff like with how Nura added Yami to his group, a couple more guys that he got to join because of his own ability. I'm also hoping that the school friends get a chance to use some weak ass summons to protect themselves from some weak ass enemy at some point, I mean its been a few months in story time since Yura started to teach them I believe.

Wow, Im shocked that Mashima is able to do so much while he is working (watching Gundam ZZ, practicing guitar, reading novels...) But yes, finally Loki is getting in on the action, so excite for it and hopefully history on Lucy's mom. I think Loki is truly one of his best designs, so cool.

It's the shades man : lol And yeah Mashima must be such a hard-worker, this is the guy that gave us 3 chapters in a single week!

Fairy Tail

Finally confirmed that the dude is a Spirit.

Lets see what the link to Lucy as all about (though it just strengthens the case of her getting a new spirit in the end of this imo)

Yay! About time you did it. Was so disappointed when you decided to do some series I can't even remember the name of over JoJo when you asked for suggestions.

Any estimations on how long it would take to get caught up, I have been holding off even starting Part 7 till someone got on actively translating the newest chapters.

Toriko

Zebra continues to be great. Kind of a shame it's a damn desert setting though. I hate deserts with passion.

Toriko's been doing the narrator part for like 10 chapters now (and we haven't seen him do his thing for real since... the ice part, right?), so I'm really ready to see him fighting again.

Fairy Tail

His revelation was a tad forced, but I'm genuinely, honest-to-god, interested.
It'll be nice if it has to do with why Lucy had such an overpowered spirit (water one) from the beginning.

Everything about the song stuff and who the demon is and the kids who got lost and where it is and everything. Dunno, it wasn't that coherent to me.

But I digress. I'm not really paying full attention to it because I'm more into the arc side of Nurarihyon than the episodic side. Youkai of the Week™ was never my thing. Each to his own though.

Slowmotion?! What, everything feels as if it moves refreshingly fast, even reading a chapter feels like it moves too fast. I know in the past, so much would be covered that I would be shocked I finished reading it in under two minutes. (well in this arc Kubo has enhanced the writing by using exhaustive explations). Slowmotion, its only taken Ichigo three chapters to gain his powers back in this "training arc," now that isnt slow at all.

Do you know what pacing is? Bleach moves the story along once every 50 chapters and even then it's at most one sentence.

I stopped reading Bleach over a year ago, but I find this impossible to believe. It seemed more like every 200 chapters the last time I was reading it.

I honestly wouldn't be a surprise if this is another case of "life imitating art" and Ohba and Obata's editor had them make Nanamine more of a jerk so that it is clear that the "Jump way" is the right way to do things.

Fairy Tail
-Is this the first time we've seen a picture of Lucy's mother? I've been wondering when we were going to get back to that plotline since it hasn't been touched upon for a while. The "Lucy's Mom" plotline has always been one of the bigger mysteries ever since it was revealed that her mom died on the same day that the Dragons vanished.

Also, if Capicorn disappeared 17 years ago that means he left when Lucy was born. This is obviously not a coincedence and probably why he is so rageful towards Lucy right now.
