I'm going to be disappointed if the Strawhats don't get a new member out of this long flashback. I do like the flashback though. With Shirahoshi turning out to have some powers, it would be neat if it was her just for the sheer absurdity of it all. Maybe Franky would be able to convert the unused Soldier Dock room to make her a room. :P

Yeah, me too. This shit has been dragging and I haven't really grown to like the character. I think I liked her more at the beginning of the arc than now. When she got shot, I was like "finally." Then, it turned out to just be a graze. :| When she went aboard that ship, I thought "good riddance!" but then she came back. Fucking die already!
I was actually really surprised she got through all the stuff with the Tenryuubito without dying. That was kind of a swerve on Oda's part.

Most likely now there's something in the treaty Otohime brought back that somebody (maybe Hodi?) objects to that leads to her death.

All in all, probably the weakest chapter in the flashback so far, but still some good and interesting info. Next chapter really ought to be the end though, the chapter after that at the absolute most. Anything beyond that is dragging way way too long.

The Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint's official website for the next Haruhi Suzumiya novel, Suzumiya Haruhi no Kyōgaku (The Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya), began displaying a thumbnail image for the July issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace magazine on Wednesday; the image indicates that an anime adaptation project of Yūki Kodama's Blood Lad vampire manga is in the works. The magazine issue will not officially ship until June 4.

The black comedy follows a vampire named Staz who has his figurative heart stolen by Fuyumi, a human high school girl who suddenly appears in his world. Unfortunately, she is just as suddenly killed, and thus she becomes a ghost. Staz tries to bring Fuyumi back to life.

Kodama launched the manga in Young Ace in 2009, and Kadokawa Shoten will ship the fourth compiled book volume early next month. The July issue of the magazine will also feature the launch of Sanami Suzuki's Black Rock Shooter ~Innocent Soul~ manga, a "life-size" poster of the Evangelion character Rei Ayanami, a reversible writing board (shitajiki) of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, and alternate volume covers for the Blood Lad and Daisuki desu!! Mahō Tenshi Cosmos manga.

Bleach 448

Bleach was highly compelling and with great design choices and moments for Ichigo. The tie in with videogame terminology, "the healing item" phrase, and the combination of Ichigo feeling pumped to fight and Ginjou ready to throw down really made it fun to read. Orihime's sheer confidence clearly indicates that she may not retain useless deadweight status for me! Kubo has worked wonders for her character. I do not like the direction that Isshin and Urahara are going, but with the possibility of that being Renji...I can only imagine that the plot will become epic.

Bleach

Holy moley, I never thought Bleach would whoop the other two's ass in chapter quality for a week in my eyes. This was indeed a fun chapter with the gaming references and Inoue seems to have matured and developed solid resolve in helping Ichigo through any challenges in the future. For some reason, I feel like the mystery character is a guy. It would make sense to use Rukia but for some reason I don't feel like it is.

HSDK

Huh, that was a lot briefer than I expected as far as details go, opposite of One Piece's flashback. It just felt kinda quick and almost vague how her father changed and left and with the Elder shouting his failure, I just expected a more meaty explanation. At least expected to learn what Miu's mother wrote in the letter. Probably is being saved for when Miu meets her father which would work for me.

I'm honestly glad Oda didn't take another chance to drone into our heads how EVULZ the Tenryuubito are.

Yeah...until this flashback is over I'm not believing the Queen was able to "calm and coax" a Celestial Dragon with just her words AND get away without a scratch. I bet she sold herself into slavery or something worse.

Bleach

Theory:

That pot is definitely a container to hold Shinigami powers. Whoever the Shinigami is, will give his/her power up and it will be placed in the container, and that will be what Kisuke/Isshin have been planning to get Ichigo his Shinigami powers back (I'm assuming that Isshin and Kisuke know about what Ichigo is doing and know that Fullbring may not be the best way to go about whatever it is going down).

This would explain the "This is a matter of taking your son's future away from him"....as an ordinary human, that is. They were secretive about it because they didn't want Ichigo to know what they were planning. This also makes sense about whatever those containers are because Kisuke said "This is the last one"...meaning that they've used it or another one before. And that could be the explanation for Isshin's Shinigami powers returning after he apparently used Final Getsugo Tensho.

As an aside, it would be cool if it was Rukia who was giving up her Shinigami powers to Ichigo for the second time, but at the same time, what was with the "Ichigo would never!" thing she apparently said?

Bleach

Interesting powers and Orihime got her backbone back it seems (now for her to actually do something more than heal).

Unidentified shinigami should be interesting as well.

about pain being weak, didn't madara summon that giant statue thing just like pain did? maybe he used pain to do it instead of his own body? tho i guess it would've been shown if that was the case

Pain is paralayzed so he can't move around by himself. He has been carried around by others since he was ressurrected a year ago.

I still maintain that they will get a new member from Fishman Island. Or at least at some point they will get a fishman member.

After all, The Thousand Sunny has a big fishtank.

I officially hate Bleach's pacing.

The very beginning of this arc was painfully slow...But the chapters have been getting better and better (pacing included) ever since Ichigo's fullbring got activated, in my opinion.

Maybe I do not follow, but are you saying they would toss him their powers and he would forever no more remain a human? I guess that would be a compelling turn of events.

Yes, in short, I'm saying that the container is an object to get Ichigo's shinigami powers back. Forever making him a Shinigami and taking away all that is human about him. Essentially killing him.

It's possible, considering Kisuke's talk about "taking away Ichigo's future" and the fact that Isshin looked distressed about making the decision.

Bleach

Healing item's here, she finally get more lines then just shouting kurosaki for an entire arc and it looks like she grew a backbone.

Or else they're trying to stop him from regaining his powers.

I feel like that could be more likely, at least not until recently it seemed like everyone was just trying to keep him out of spiritual things and he was only a substitute shinigami afterall.

the mystery shinigami is unlikely to be rukia as we heard rukia arguing with someone through the shinigai badge and saying 'you cant do that to ichigo' or something to that effect.

I agreement with DTL on this chapter, kudos on the colored panel.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure update: scnas of chapter 1 are out for part 8. I read them and well...no spoilers. Translations by the group handling it will becoming "soon".

I was thinking this too. But I can't help but think that Kisuke and Isshin know pretty much everything that's going on with everyone (except maybe Tsukishima)...and I doubt they'd want to prevent Ichigo from getting his powers back. What would that accomplish...? If anything I'd think that Isshin would have noticed how depressed Ichigo has probably been for the last 17 months, along with being helpless.

It's been really hard to have even a small idea of what Isshin and Kisuke's motives are this entire arc. But then again they've been like that for the entire series so it fits that we wouldn't know what they're up to here.

Naruto

This is how I think ressurections work with these zombies. Whatever condition their body was in before they died, they ressurect in that condition. Nagato and Itachi died with their eyes still in, the reason they still have their eyes after the ressurection is because the eyes were removed AFTER their death. Nagato loss the use of his legs and Itachi has a diseased(scarred) body before their death that is why they appeared like that.

As for Sasori, I think that when he transferred his heart into the doll, he would be considered technically "dead." Is he truly alive in his doll body? So his condition is pretty unique if you think about it, that's why Sasori has his whole body

Zabuza was able to use his arms when he came back. All the puppets have scarred/diseased bodies. I guess Nagato's legs are a genetic deformity that got bad later in life. But then that doesn't explain why Kimimaro had free use of his limbs again...

Anyway, there have been so many holes in this war that it seems pointless to try to cover them all up. :| There's just a lot of retconning because Kishi either forgot, doesn't care, or needed something to fit the story.

Zabuza couldn't use his arm because there was too much pain? There was a lot of knife in them AFAIR and those knifes weren't on there after his ressurection and even then it wouldn't matter cause he can't feel no pain. Kimimaro moved his limbs with his will alone(at least that was how he explained it), he didn't lose the use of it before he died, he was about to kill both Gaara and Lee before his body finally gave out. I know it is a weak explanation, but it's all I can think of.

Don't understand why so much confusion surrounds Edo Tensei. Seems pretty cut 'n' dry to me.

I wonder about Madara. If he has Nagato's eye now, can he do the tensei moves as well? or practically any move.
He pretty much confirmed when they captured Yamato that he could use the Human Realm's "soul snag" ability. All seven Paths are probably available to him, the Rinnegan should also allow him to use any composition of chakra he wants, and he has the Sharingan to copy anything he sees on top of that.

So yes, he can presumably use practically any move he sees, with the exception of kekkei genkai and the like. I doubt the author would actually take advantage of that though.

i think kabuto crippled Nagato'ss body in some way to prevent him from being too dangerous if he didn't obey for some unforeseen reason. he can still make use of the ocular powers or he can just get rid of nagato in that situation since the guy wouldn't be able to counter.
that's the only way i can see that disability fitting in given Edo Tensei's power.

Bleach

Cool chapter, though I was pretty tired when reading it something felt really awkward and disjointed about pretty much all the dialog in it.

That dudes PFP fullbring is pretty neat (prodigy reference?).

Edit: Wish Kubo tried some other way of showing a mysterious character appeared than "panel of foot".

Heh, I thought the dialogue in this chapter, while sparse, was well done. The best dialogue was probably how Orihime owned Riruka by 1) Dissecting her feelings and 2) showing a lot of confidence where I'm sure Riruka didn't expect it.

Elsewhere, I thought that Ichigo and Ginjou's conversation before engaging was very casual and light-hearted, but there's something about it that has tension. Compare this to how Ichigo and Ginjou's first few conversations went in the beginning of this arc and I think it's cool.

And then the always shady and seemlingly gloomy dialogue between Kisuke and Isshin was as always...ambiguous and mysterious.

I think it's just whatever was convenient for Kishi with no real thought or reasoning behind the technique at all.

If I absolutely had to ascribe a semi reasonable explanation, I'd think that the Ninja soul's mental image of themselves determines the state of the zombie.

Which still doesn't explain why Nagato's crippled.

I'm calling it right now: Mermaid Princess as new strawhat. She swims beside the ship and talks to the Sea Kings so they don't attack the SH. Counter to Blackbeards San Juan Wolf.

That'd be awful, all the stuff that happens on land would happen without her there. Doubt she would ever feel like a real strawhat because of that.

Eat-Man 9

Bolt is an amazing protagonist. Someone offers her body to him to complete a job and instead, he eats her clothes. Then for dessert, he peels some metal off the wall and eats it.

I'm still confused to the exact nature of Pain's Rinnegan abilities. If having the Rinnegan gave Pain access to all of the Paths abilities, why did he bother to gimp his own body with those recievers and split each ability to a seperate body? I understand it grants a greater advantage with the line of sight in direct combat, but one would have to think turning your own body into a shiskabab would be a bit of a put-off just to achieve that.
