Well wasn't it already back in Mario Kart 7 where you could also do worldwide races??
Barely touched MK7 so I don't know.
Do you have any videos of full rooms using only the pipe frame?

If I had a wii u this game would be an automatic buy for me for the Koopalings alone. I hope the gameplay is sped up though. The one for wii felt a bit too slow pace for my liking, not like Mario Kart 64 speed at all.
Eh? Did you play 150cc?
From what I remember, even that I think was kinda slow for me. I don't know it could be my memory, but I still miss Mario Kart 64's tight speed.
Not sure if it has already been mentioned, but when it's announced that the blue shells are now grounded, does that mean they crash through all racers ahead of you like in MK64?

Wario looks so good in HD, he is my main in Mario Kart since 64![]()
Yes. It was already like this in MK7.
Wait, really? I thought it was still flight-based like Double Dash and MKDS
Nope. They clipped its wings in MK7. It flies along the ground and can hit anyone along the way, then once it reaches first place it takes off into the air and crashes into first place in an explosion. In MK8 they've apparently reduced how long the explosion stuns you and it doesn't make you topple out of control.
Hopefully this means we won't have a repeat of Mario kart Wii 150cc
I still have flashbacks.
I actually was somewhat okay with MK7's blue shell. Crashing through the other racers made it not compete bullshit for first place. I'm more excited for the full on item switch though. Going to be great in online communities. The bit of customization in 7 was a huge step in the right direction.Nope. They clipped its wings in MK7. It just felt like they never stopped sometimes in MKWii. On top of that, they had really stupid items like that thunder cloud... Still don't understand why that thing existed.I've really never understood when people complain about items in MK Wii's GP. I just played through all cups in 150cc again and only had a few frustrations. It's about on par with the other games in that regard, and MK7 is worse tbh.

Holy crap are those reflections on the coins?? Sry if it's already been mentioned
Just pre-ordered this game from Kmart.
So far, the pre order has given everyone about $38 in points back if your a rewards member (free to sign-up), plus some people were able to get $5 off with an extra coupon.
After the points back and money off, I'm paying $22 total for the game. For those waiting to jump in, the deal sold out quick the last time around.

I'm confused as to how I get the price that low. I only see a potential 5% point return. Though I should note that I have no idea what kind of point system Kmart is on.
I'm finding it really hard to adjust back to non-snaking power sliding.
Just spent the whole weekend playing Mario Kart Double Dash. Playing 7 feels so unintuitive.
I was thinking the same thing.Mario Kart 64... fast? What?

Mario Kart 64 doesn't have any more of a sense of speed than other MK games, from my perspective.
Also Diddy Kong, since I would assume he's in by default.DS only had 12, but it was a good 12. Wii had 24 but there was a lot of filler (Babies, Dry Bowser). Mario Kart 8 seems to have some great additions (Koopa Kids) and bad ones (So many Babies, Metal Mario)
Also keep in mind that at least two of those characters are probably Bowser Jr. and Mii.

30 characters is kinda lame when over 33% are filled with Koopalings and Babies :|
It's not confirmed that 30 is the cap.30 characters is kinda lame when over 33% are filled with Koopalings and Babies :|

I think at the very least Bowser Jr., Diddy Kong, Birdo, Mii, and Dry Bowser are safe. I think it'll be 36 + Mii so 37.Here's a list of characters that appeared in either Kart Wii or Kart 7 that haven't been confirmed yet:
Dry Bones
Birdo
Diddy Kong
Bowser Jr.
King Boo
Funky Kong
Dry Bowser
Honey Queen
Wiggler
Mii
I would say Dry Bowser and Mii are shoe ins. Mii is obvious and Dry Bowser has a track dedicated to him. I'd like Dry Bones or Boo, but I doubt they're in.
