Sounds like it should just be a Toy OT then?

They're not toys, they're collectors items!!

That's what I tell my wife and kids anyway lol

Anime/video game Figuart/Figmas would probably stay in FigureGAF, while the superhero and Star Wars variations would be more aimed at Action Figure GAF.

Figma andand Figuart are part action figure OT they have awesome articulated action figures, I collect the Figma Avengers and Berserk as well they definitely belong to action figures OT, Figuarts is making some Star Wars figures as well, as I said as long as they articulated action figures the are welcome in Action Figures OT

Eh it's fine. There is bound to be crossover between the two. Play Arts is another issue because it has video games and anime but also their Variants line so it's whatever with that. Keep it like it is.

I definitely think this will be the case.

UGH i'm so stupid... I knew the pre-orders for 6" Bossk were this morning and I forgot, so they all sold out.

Only way now is to order a case... which I certainly will NOT be doing since it includes a bunch of figures I don't want. :/

when I was a kid, I was obsessed with the Toy Biz X-Men toys. Especially the 1st line, for some reason.
I still have my Wolverine, Archangel, and Magneto from that line. Though I painted my Wolverine to have the blue/yellow Jim Lee costume and basically ruined it, haha.

I just dropped some coin on a couple Marvel Legends figure I'd been eyeing for months and I'm holding you people personally responsible. Meanwhile, my Canadian search for that new Captain Marvel will now continue on. Stupid thread...

You can't just say you bought some ML without mentioning which ones!

Being a Spidey fan I ordered the Superior and the ASM2 figure. One will go in my man cave and the other will go on my desk.

I'm not a huge collector due to space and funds but I love reading about them and seeing other peoples' collections. I'm looking forward to this new thread.

I loved these figures back in the 90's. Spidey was my favourite though just because I always preferred him as a character. I managed to get pretty much all the main characters and villains (I remember Mysterio and Chameleon being pretty rare in my part of the UK). The Iron Man figures were pretty cool as well, with all the clip on armor...

This thread is awesome, part of me misses collecting the Marvel Legends stuff (I had waves 1-15 but sold them eventually due to space/money reasons). That was just before Hasbro took over the line and the quality initially dropped pretty bad...

Great pickups! I love my Superior figure.

Funnily enough, I'm like you in regards to collecting even though I made this thread! I'm very selective about what I buy as they're usually £15-£20 a piece and often find myself lacking display space.

I had been eyeing the Marvel Select Superior but I like the costume from later in the comic's run so much more.

They are not cheap. I see some of the price tags on FigureGAF and I just have no idea how people do it.

Man, trying to think of a way to organize the op is confusing. There seems to be a lot of overlap with these companies as far as licenses goes.

Look at marvel for example. Off the top of my head you have Hasbro, Hot toys. MAFEX, Revoltech, Figma, Play Arts, S.H figuarts.

What are the companies that should be featured in the OT? The big guys for sure, but there a bunch of smaller guys that people would be interesting in knowing about too I'm sure.

Hasbro - G.I.Joe, Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers
Playmates -TMNT..?
Mattel - DC, Ghostbusters, Masters of the Universe, WWE wrestling
Bandai - Thundercats, ??
Figma -Mixed licenses
Neca - Street Fighter, Movie license, ??
McFarlane Toys - ??

Then are the companies I don't hear much about like Mezco and 3A Toys who put out stuff like this.

I guess every company doesn't need representation though. Maybe some sort of honourable mention.

I was thinking of having the name of the company as a heading, then the licenses they cover beneath. A short description of the toyline followed by an image of a figure and respective packaging. We also include links of the best places to buy these figures.

Smaller companies can have a mention at the end, maybe?

Should they include the companies current licenses or ones they no longer hold too. Just getting into Street Fighter figures and I know both NECCA and Sota took a shot with them but gave up. Maybe that would add too much clutter though.

I think we could maybe have a section for present lines, which is the main section, and then a smaller section covering popular past lines.

I've done a couple OTs, but they've been pretty weak designs- if there's anything I can do to help, I'd be happy to lend a hand.

Not on the topic of OT: sounds like we got a leak of the Ant-Man Legends series- Tigershark, Ant Man, Giant Man, Bulldozer, Grim Reaper and Wasp. Pretty solid assortment of new and old, unreleased molds- I'd guess the Ant Man will be the movie figure, and the rest as comics, with maybe a movie Yellowjacket as the BAF.

I just bought the Batman "Thrasher" toy off Amazon. Normally, do you guys have good luck buying off Amazon? Is the packaging typically in good shape?

I've had two Marvel select figures packaging that were ripped and tapped back together. They were really large and extremely heavy figures so there might have been trouble with them at the warehouse. Was planing on opening them anyway so it was no biggie to me, the figures were fine.

Another leak implies the third wave of the Avengers Legends series will be made up of Blizzard, Thundra, Valkyrie, Marvel Now Iron Man, War Machine, Doctor Strange, and a mystery figure. Another wave comprised half of seemingly canceled figures we've seen in the past- I could see this being true, but I really hope it's not. I'd only end up picking up Doc Strange and maybe War Machine and Valkyrie from the set.

Maybe there are still more to come soon that we don't know about, New York Toy Fair is on February 14th tons of info about upcoming action figures and leaked pictures of new action figures from all types and manufacturers are going to rain on us!

Gamora finally dropped back down to 16.95 on Amazon and that completes my Guardians of the Galaxy set. When all was said and done I got all of them for $90. Rocket was the most expensive at 21.99 and Iron Man was the cheapest at 7.87

Don't worry about getting too intricate guys. Start simple and build up from there. I can help provide graphics as time goes on as well :)

wait don't PM me! I never asked for this!

It's true I did suggest the OT however

I just don't have time to oversee an OT but i'd love to participate

Go for it, you post a lot and you are involved in LEGO GAF, I vouch for you, we'll help you oversee it.

This, I also can help little by little with pics and assets since I use Photoshop at work

Took a bunch of photos of my articulated figures, so I'm just waiting for poseablefiguregaf to exist...:

Awesome, everyone is willing to participate, so will the real OT creator please stand up! (I would love to but I am a busy mofo)
Also shouldn't we contact a mod first or something? they might not be aware of the reasons why we want an Action Figure OT and think is redundant to FigureGAF thus locking on in the first page.
