I know how much HT's go for, but I just couldn't warrant the purchase, personally.

yeah took me a long time to pull the trigger on my first purchase. I kept convincing myself I would just save up for 1 and be done, but now I can't stop buyin em. Luckily I can currently afford them for now

I really hope they are ok with an action figure Gaf thread. No disrespect to the figure thread that already exists, but that should honestly be labeled BISHOUJO or T&A statues Gaf

Same. They look fantastic but anything over 100 quid is too much for me personally.

I'm thinking of getting a few of the Kotobukiya Artfx Star Wars statues. They look great and they seem to be going for a more reasonable 35-40 pounds. I would have liked to get into the Black series but they seem pretty expensive for what they are and it seems most are impossible to find now.

I've got 3 hot toys. Predator 2 and 1989 Batman and Joker.

I'm seriously considering Rocket and Groot.

NICE I got those too, some of my favorites. The last few ones I got are Elder Predator, T1 Terminator, and Robocop. My wife wanted me to get the whole Guardians of the Galaxy team but that's just too much money

it will be nice to have a thread I can actually visit at work

If you guys need graphics for the main post later let me know. I onow some of you might be working on it already but thought I'd offer.

Oh man, I went to Target and Toys R Us today to try and find a Deadpool figure so I could make a bunch of cool banner's. But of course, I couldn't find one :( How I don't already own one, I'll never know.

My idea was to have a like 5-6 banners as a header, one for each major toy line theme, Marvel, DC, Star Wars, TMNT, Transformers, etc. But I was gonna take pics of the Deadpool figure dressed up as the different themes and poking fun at each of them. IE, have Deadpool with a Batman logo on his chest or the mask Hank wears in Venture Bros with a word bubble coming out saying, "I am the Bat" or something funny. Or for the Star Wars line up, he'd be holding a lightsaber and making the noises in his word bubble. Of course the banners would also show some of the real figures from each line. Then below the banners would be a break down of the different lines and where you could buy them.

You don't know how hard it was not to just buy like every figure on the shelves... I did end up getting one though. A classic Krang re-print from the 1988 Turtles line up. There were like only two of the main cast I never owned as a kid, Krang and April. So now all I need is the April.

I think you all have great ideas and I like them! maybe we can just switch up the banner artwork ever so often :) we all win

Also, if you guys haven't picked up that Doomsday unleashed figure, I really think now is the time before it gets too expensive. I find it to be a great figure, solid and well built. Goes a bit over scale is one of its few flaws.

I have a Marvel Legends in the banner and have one more figure to squeeze in. I'm thinking of putting either an 80s classic or a Figma Solid Snake. I want to replace the Marvel Legend (Superior Spidey) I've used with another one because of size and pose issues. Any thoughts on which ML to put in?

The Toybiz McFarlane Spider-Man is probably the single most "iconic" Marvel Legends figure, if that matters for what you're going for. If you're going for more recent, I'd probably go with the ASM2 Legends Spider-Man or the Guardians Nova.

I think it's close between McFarlane Spidey and Series VI Deadpool. Both are probably the two most sought after Legends figures.

where can you even pick him up?

Hooray for action figure OT! It will be good to have a dedicated thread where I can post pics of my HTs and MLs. Will be awesome seeing other peoples collections too!

http://www.onesixthbruce.co.uk/ - Used to be the go to place, always has the cheapest prices, was a victim of their own success and took on too many pre-orders, then had the bright idea of getting hot toys shipped by boat, 7-10 months later when they arrived in UK ports collectors end up so pissed off they swear them off. While they are still trying to correct this wrong, I'm posting them up because they still are the cheapest in the UK if you can tolerate eventually one day getting your figure. Later this year their shit should be sorted out, but I'm not recommending again them until they do.

http://www.collectablekitbash.co.uk/default.asp - Second best prices, fantastic service, pre-orders close fast on popular stuff, they never bite off more then they can chew, plus they stock tons of parts and accessories if you want to get into customizing your figures.

http://www.thegoodthebadandtherobots.co.uk/ A smaller place, run by a great guy, prices vary. Posts on the sideshow freaks forums, very friendly and easy to deal with...

http://www.discontoys.com/ Best place to find harder to get stuff, can be pricey, but if your looking for hard to get hot toys, or missed a pre-order window, always worth a look anyway...

You already heard of Collectibles Direct, which has that awesome layaway plan like sideshow that will make buying anything high-end a hell of alot easier. There are/were a bunch more but they have worse reps then OSB does...

A quick comment on discontoys, I can't rate them highly enough. Dave gives excellent customer support and occasionally reduces prices - I recently got Red Skull from him for a good price :)

I wanna know how people dust lol. Some of my shelfs are disgusting just because of how big a pain in the ass it would be to have to redo the display.

One of these bad boys helps greatly and I suppose the trick is to keep them clean little and often just by handling them and blowing off the odd bit of dust :)

I ended up using a trophy case for my HT figures since work was throwing it away and it was nice. My figures themselves don't get dusty (I know because my DX-09 and DX-12 don't show any) just the glass shelves around them. Detolfs (that's what that is right?) don't offer enough space, plus I don't have an IKEA locally.

I own the Disney Store exclusive Marvel Select, Agent Venom figure. Paid more than I'd like to admit for it but it's my only figure and I love the character so go big or go home, right?

Yeah I really want 2.0 Joker but not willing to pay the aftermarket prices :( One day though!

2.0 Joker isn't great honestly. Regretted buying him and the DX-12. Much prefer the Nicholson Joker figure.

The QS001 is rad though. Definitely my favorite Bale Batman.

Here we go:

God that Woody cracks me up every time I see him, haha. And gotta love Deadpool sticking his head out. That's actually a pretty good selection of figs because they're not just Batman, Wolverine, and Spider-Man.

Are you going to type out all the different lines from each company with little descriptions and maybe a single image of an example figure/box in the OP?

But...we have a Figure OT already?
We talked about that a few pages back. Figure OT is more about the anime statues/maquettes than the traditional superhero action figures you can get at Target or Toys R Us. We kinda agreed here that Hot Toys might be the bridge between both threads as they're more niche than the traditional 6" toys that this thread would be dominated with.

That's the plan! I'll also have info on which place is the best to purchase specific lines, which I'll need to do some research for.

The other thread is 99% anime girls statues some of them very lewd and moe gifs, a true action figure OT is needed.

Sounds like it should just be a Toy OT then?
