I don't know who's in the top panel, I only quoted that picture but that's Hank in the pic I posted.

Two different Hanks. Former has repented for a backhand for almost the entirety of his run, yours is from the everyone is a douche universe where he's actually abusive.

Is Ultimates not canon? Serious question btw, I've read it but I'm not down with these sort of details.

Regular (616) and Ultimates (1610) are two totally separate universes. What you posted is canon for the Ultimate universe but not for mainstream Marvel- they're two different Hanks.

Reed Richards makes Rick and Morty look like amateurs.

Lol, had to google rick and morty. Doesn't Reed usually visit different dimensions though? Or is that the same thing in comics.

Wtf am I talking about I have Marvel Zombies hardback on my shelf right now lol! I should've thought harder before postin.

I thought Marvel usually tried to stay away from the whole DC multiverse thing ? Or am I wrong about that too.

Marvel does multiverses. The exiles series is nothing but hopping to different universes with casts from different multiverses.

Why do people still act like Pym was trying to beat up his wife? Even the writer of the comic it happened in said it was a miscommunication between him and the artist.
In that story (issue 213, I think), there is a scene in which Hank is supposed to have accidentally struck Jan while throwing his hands up in despair and frustration—making a sort of “get away from me” gesture while not looking at her. Bob Hall, who had been taught by John Buscema to always go for the most extreme action, turned that into a right cross! There was no time to have it redrawn, which, to this day has caused the tragic story of Hank Pym to be known as the “wife-beater” story.

They probably made Ultimate Hank do it on purpose because it's a rule that everyone in that Universe is a dick.

After watching Prince Avalanche I'm not so convinced Wright will be able to get too much out of Rudd for the more dramatic moments. Then again, I wouldn't consider Nick Frost or Simon Pegg to be very well rounded actors and Wright has used them effectively.

lets if anyone remember this

How is it not? It may not be an issue that worries you, but it is quite a ridiculous situation with the demands of everything being consistent making a billion different universes just so they can claim everything is one distinct canon. It's... well... ridiculous. It is not a big problem or anything, but it is not elegant in any way. It is a mess.

They should have just ignored the idea of a set canon in the first place.

Since that is a living John Belushi, I doubt many gaffers will remember it ;) Hell, I was only 3 when it aired.

none of the multiverse issues effect anything. many ideas are made with the multiverse in mind. i dont see how there is a elegant way to do a multiverse, but with constant documentation, its far from a mess

GOAT comic book movie. Will finally dethrone raimi spidermans and nolan batman films.

If Wright/Cornish follow the trajectory of their career. Nobody's infallible.

I guess my point is that they should allow stories that are not part of the multiverse, just as stories. Having to tie everything in to one universal multiverse just feels like a literary crutch to appease people worried about different versions or takes on characters.

To me it is a mess. A documented mess, but a mess.

i dont see the mess aspect, i also dont see a reason not to have all the worlds share the same multiverse, but to each his own.

should i be asking who HASN'T beaten Darkseid at this point? He's been farmed out like Galactus was ...damn.
DS is a paper tiger.

DC problem is they tried to run so many side by side with the only superficial differences between characters.

They do have have stories that take place in their own universe all the time. They just label the universes in case they want to revisit.

Spiderman: Reign
Old Man Logan
Last Avengers Story
Space Opera Punisher

etc.

Why not just use a real arrow and kill the bad guy? Or one of the gimmick arrows that these bow and arrow heroes always have?

It feels like Hawkeye just wanted to give Ant Man something to do.

This way they could grab the cosmic cube (or Tesseract, can't remember which it was in the cartoon) right away.

The bad guy was also kinda off to the side. Maybe he wouldn't have been able to knock him out from his vantage point.

the cornetto trilogy is my favorite trilogy ever. they are equally tied as my number one fav movies ever, and I already love superhero movies so I can safely say this will probably be my favorite comic book movie yet (with guardians right after hopefukly)

You mean the frog movie that made 270m worldwide, got 84 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and received 3 Oscar nominations?

They screwed the pooch on that?
Yup, they sure did.

Regardless of how much it made it surely didn't make enough ... that's why Disney wanted to make more "boys" movies like WiR and I guess this Marvel kids movie we know nothing about coming out in Nov. Tangled, on the other hand, did so well that it changed their mind on the whole "no more Princess movies" thing ... and it made them take what they were boasting as their "proof that 2D at dead" and turn that into Frozen.

That shitty Frog movie almost killed Disney's interest in making Princess movies.

WiiU is a continuation of a trend not the outlier, that was the wii. At least get you're analogies right

There's a huge, FAT different between "every console not doing as well as the gen before" and the Wii U which is basically doing Virtual Boy level bad. Wii U is doing so damn poorly that clearly Nintendo doesn't even know where to begin turning things around.

No, I don't think Wii U is just one more in a trend. This shit was such a mistake that Nintendo's reporting the first unprofitable quarters they have had in decades because of it. They have always managed to be atleast profitable for all consoles before now.

you didnt answer the question or give a single example.

And yet I managed to have quite a pleasant discussion about it. Subjective terms don't lead to agreement very often, as was the case here. If you feel like writing some words about how it isn't a mess, feel free, I will read them. Not really interested in going into a circular argument that will consist of 'no it isn't', 'yes it is' ad nauseum.
