Finally seeing this tonight.
I expect many, many ass-shots.
Excited for Captain America?

*awesomeness*
You know, the more I think about it, the more I'm thinking Thanos won't be the main villain in the next movie, but will probably send another army, or villain, and Thanos will come to Earth himself in the third movie.
Because when you think about it, Marvel doesnt really have any villains they own the rights to who can out villain Thanos. Unless they do a Civil War take for the third film.
I think it was the interrogation scene with Widow and Loki where shes standing and its just a slow push towards her ass. I had visions of Miranda Lawson.
or you know... they could create a new villain.

That's for the Ultimates reboot
It has to be digitally enhanced, those wizards at ILM and/or Weta post processed it to be... well... Super.

Finally saw it. Waited for the matinee price.
What a shit-tacular shitty shitty movie.
I was rolling my eyes throughout the entire movie & my God what a entirely bad action sequence during the 2nd half.
Watch out for the nondescript/generic alien that come out of nowhere with their FLYING SEGWAY SCOOTERS OF DEATH!
Thankfully a advanced alien race that mastered space travel & energy weapons wasn't too advanced to not be taken down by arrows, bullets & of course the brave men of the NYPD!
Can't believe people think this is even remotely good. Even Bayformers was better than that crap I saw today.
I mean no one expects EVERYONE to like it but to call it a shit-tactular movie that is worse than Bayformers is so try hard shit.
But what is worse is the whole..
"how can anyone find this film any good" line.
Get the fuck outta here with that mess.
That is the arrogant shit that ruins any discussion.
Your opinion is not law.
just to be clear they hadn't mastered space travel, they needed the cube to open an ENERGY VORTEX at the top of Stark tower, and only this cube apparently has this limitless power. It also somehow will solve all the world's energy's problems. Also, it makes good weapons.
I think I've listed all its miraculous properties.
He's looking to rile some stuff up, likely hasn't even seen the movie yet.
Yes, it was a direct callback to Stark being Stark back on the ship. Which is an extremely Whedon thing to do.
or you know... they could create a new villain.
Wow, that's a lot worse than Ant Man smacking Wasp in the face.
or you know... they could create a new villain.
Should've gone Sean Bean.
Then maybe the threat would've been credible.
Damnit, I always seem to end up posting stuff when the thread goes haywire so it'll end up getting lost in the crossfire.
Joss Whedon is the new Spielberg!
In other news, had to sit and listen to "lol Whedon sucks" from an idiot friend of mine, without giving any actual reason as to why.
What villains they actually do or don't own is pretty sketchy, what with the Marvel Comics Universe being such a crossover orgy. Obviously they couldn't do Dr. Doom/Magneto/Venom. I just wish they'd get 'dem rights back. It's crazy that they can't use their own characters.
Just got back from my second viewing. Still frigging awesome!
Joss Whedon is the new Spielberg! Come at me, bros!
Yeah Maybe they can use the insane profits they're making now to buy it back.

Joss Whedon found a project where his signature "everyone rapid-fires witty quips back and forth like they have a writer following them around, and reacts to danger with a cool-guy flippant attitude" style happened to fit the subject matter. That's really the "magic" that happened here. Yes it was well made, but it was tailored to his shtick, unlike something like the Alien franchise (zing!).[/QUOTE]
Are you saying Whedon should direct "The Social Network 2" ?

jesus, some people can't simply enjoy this movie. :<
So was the explanation of how Thor got back to earth was that Odin summoned him there? I was kind of unclear if I heard it right.
You don't happen to have cool gif of this scene, do you? Where Cap jumps around like flying monkey as he runs from one end of a street to the other.
I think he means Whedon should direct a Gilmore Girls movie.
Yeah, no.
It's called Marvel Studios for a reason.

are you saying marvel wouldnt allow it? lol. the only characters the general audience really cares about is the avengers themselves (no offense to thanos fans). im sure every audience had that one guy explaining who thanos was too his buddies. also, doesn't the idea of seeing a new character in the fiction sound the least bit enticing to you? im all for it.

I was actually sitting here thinking if I should mention that if you give Whedon a non-action piece, it would basically be Gilmore Girls (the same grating, unrelatable, "clever" dialogue between "dysfunctional family" types). I just about spit soda all over my screen when I refreshed and saw your post.
If you're referring to me, I love the movie. I just think Whedon is shining because he's in his comfort zone. I wouldn't necessarily pick anyone else for this project, but I wouldn't use it as a precedent that I will love his future work after one awesome movie.jesus, some people can't simply enjoy this movie. :<
So just because the mass audience don't understand who a villain is, keeping in mind the Avengers are new and this villain will need an origin story eventually so the mass audience will find out anyway, true fans should be deprived of recognisable characters?
