Mass Effect 3 Debut Trailer - Holiday 2011 - 360/PS3/PC

That HipHopGamer video is embarrassing to watch, you have people comparing the perks of Call of Duty to Mass Effect. These guys made Baldurs Gate, but I guess that's what happens when you get rid of all RPG elements and go down the shooter route

Sounds unlikely seeing as how we haven't had a trailer with any gameplay in it, but if true why not Slovakia instead of pax east the week before? (More unlikely the more you think about it) SAD.

Yeah, I question the validity of it also. Maybe its to possibly drum up some interest in the event. Just thought I'd post it here though.

Isn't it possible the demo may surface first at PAX East and then go to Slovakia? Because I agree. Slovakia seems a weird place to unveil gameplay for a title that's that anticipated.

I Googled and I couldn't even find out exactly what this 'Game Expo' in Slovakia is, let alone any announcements from previous years.

Smells like bullshit. Considering the hype surrounding Mass Effect 3, why would BioWare/EA reveal footage of what is going to be one of 2011's biggest games at some obscure, unknown event?

According to that website, Mass Effect 3 will have a playable presentation shown in Game Expo 2011 in Slovakia, from March 18th-20th.

I don't know how reliable that website is though. Any Bioware devs on here?
Dead Space 2 playable!
Can't wait!

I don't know if it's official or not, I'm guessing not, but anyway artist Robert Simons posted some Mass Effect 3 concept art on his Deviant Art page.

mass_effect_concept_art_06_by_falarsimons-d3b0poz.png

The rest are on his deviant art page, http://falarsimons.deviantart.com/ include some concepts of what would appear to be a new
Normandy.

Anyway, fan-made or not, they're very very good. Especially the one above.

I dont think it's official. His resume and such make no references to BioWare.

Yeah, I'd guess so too. Still, looks nice though. We've had pretty much nothing to go on recently, so anything will do I suppose.

He seems to be a professional contractor though.

Do professional contractors usually storyboard and 3D model their fan art?

maybe for his portfolio

soooo i keep geting messages from people about the work i posted for EVE, the work you see was for no one but my Portfolio, you see i thought it would be fun to take pirates of the Caribbean and tern it in to a Space Oprah but im a full time student at Art Center college of design and it leaves me no time for other work so yes im using Ships that i just painted a few days ago as ships for EVE. i love EVE i use to play it all the time before Art Center. so please those of you how think i did this for a client or for some sort of job i did not all the work you see i did for my sell. so on that note i wish every one luck in this Competition. =)

This bump got me excited to see if something new was arising, but only some fan art. Looks like we wont get anything on Mass Effect 3 until E3 it seems :(

yeah, those were posted on Bioware forums like 20hours ago (google says :p) if they are official they will take them down soon. they look really 'official' to me though, or that he did some test work for Bioware at some point and they let him release them for his portfolio and they are not representative of the product. he is a freelancer so he probably does these sort of things a lot, they look better than ME2 concept arts actually (far more detailed)

The only reason I can think of needing a new ship in ME3 is if you need to go to
Dark Space to the Reapers home. Only the MK3 will be able to withstand it or some bull

What are their going to do with the Normandy SR-2? I sure hope they dont blow it up in the last DLC with all your alive characters.
I suppose it could relate to
repairs and fixes after attacking the collectors at the end of ME2, the ship took damage and maybe the illusive man wanted to spend more money

That's true, considering
the final cutscene Shepard was pulling debris out of the way just to go and talk to the Illusive Man on the comms system. It makes sense to have a new Normandy in that respect

Congratulations on defeating the Collector threat and coming home alive, Shepard. You've saved the yooman race once again.

...of course you did disobey a direct order and destroy their highly advanced technology - but have a free ship! Have ten ships!

I think it depends on your choice?

Yeah, you're right.

So how will he get a new ship if he stopped working for Martin Sheen? Maybe the council payed for the repairs? He IS still a Spectre

Even then Miranda says something like "I work for Sheppard now" or something. Presumally Bioware can just pretend that Sheppard stages a coup and takes over Cerberus. Kind of like "You need me, I don't need you so we are doing things my way now"

Hahaha, Bioware has so many problems to make a good start for Mass effect 3.
I have
all my characters alive, SR-2 nearly intact and say fuck you to the Ilussive Man
. What are they going to do with that to please me >:(

After playing Mass Effect 2 I would think they would tell you to shot your fucking mouth and you will enjoy whatever the fuck it is they decide to give you and you don't have a fucking say in anything. But then again maybe they won't do it this time around.

The same thing they did with the destruction of the Citadel and the fate of the Rachni from ME1. That is, nothing.

Edit: no, wait, they might send you a couple of ingame emails. My bad.

Maybe it's my naivete speaking, but I genuinely trust BioWare's ME team when figures like Christina Norman are listening to player feedback. Even after the DA2 PR debacle and Mike Laidlaw I think ME2 has a chance to do better with rewarding prior choices.

He's doing a Charlie Sheen, being the chosen one and all

They have to get rid of your old team somehow so you can recruit a new one in ME3 ;)

I fucking love ME2.
But I want to BELIEVE!

Really, if Bioware this time goes the extra mile to try to add to the game in a good way how you ended ME2, I will salute them and be the happiest man on earth.
I believe ME3 will probably be great, because it seems they are trying to listen to the feedback and its their sacred son that they will treat well. And most importantly, they will not use the Bioware studio janitors, as they have done with DA2 :lol

what else do you expect? its just ME2 but with reapers this time. this is how its going to pan out.

1) earth is attacked (but despite a infinite number of reapers attack, earth doesnt fall).
2) shepard has to get everyone to save earth
3) shepard vists 4-5 planets (for example, you go to krogan planet, at first wrex doesnt want to help you but then he decide if you kill a space worm he will help you)
4) you return to earth to figh the reapers
5) you save teh earth!

You make it sound like shit--but yes, this is likely where things are headed.

That fact doesn't really mean anything negative about the gameplay though. At least in terms of the possibility to going back to ME1 scale and roleplaying elements. We'll see.

I just want to be able to fuck Kasumi in this game.

The most annoying thing is how certain characters aren't possible to romance with when you're playing the game as it should be, with a female Shepard. I want to make Normandy a Love Boat with my Cindy Shepard and Tali/Kasumi, and for the sake of comedy it would be great if Mordin/Grunt would be available for romantic offshore adventures as well.

The fate of the Rachni is supposed to be important in ME3,not in ME2.
What's the point of the Rachni showing up when they're considered genocidal monsters?
They will only appear when you'll ask the Queen to sing one hell of a song to blast some Reapers back to the Stone Age.

And the Citadel wasn't destroyed?

It's implied that a good portion of the citadel was affected by both the attack on it by sovereign and its landing, yet the player never gets to see it as the citadel , along with the council, gets marginalized in me2.

Reading that Cerberus daily news gave me an idea for a cool mission in ME3. You could explore planets and find civilizations that are not aware of interstellar travel or aliens (like us) You can choose to go down there and scare the shit out of them or leave them alone. It'd be like violating the prime directive in Star Trek. They could make this an awesome story moment.

The citadel was incapacited but not destroyed.Pretty big difference here.
The focus of ME2 was the Terminus Systems, which were a welcome change of scenery.
