Mass Effect: Andromeda PC system requirements

Gonna be double dipping on this baby. Got it pre-ordered on PS4 Pro and planning on getting the PC version as well.

My two main rigs are:

PC: 6700k + 980 Ti + 16 gb Memory
Laptop: 6700HQ + 1070 + 16 gb Memory

I'm wondering out of the two which will push the game more...

Well get back to us, because I'm curious too. I know the 1070's on laptops aren't cut down versions like they used to be, so I'd like to know since I'm in the market.

The 1070 and the 980 Ti are very close to each other in performance so you will probably see very similar performance on both of your systems.

i7-3770k @ 4.2Ghz
GTX 1070 (Asus stock speeds)
24GB RAM
SSD

I think I'll be OK, hopefully at 1440p/60. My rig struggled with Rise of the Tomb Raider a bit at 1440p/60, I was usually between 35-60 but it got choppy at points. I also had the HairFX on which I know is super taxing.

I might be tempted to play it at 1080p/120 since my TV can handle it, if the game supports 120hz properly. I haven't really played anything at 120hz yet.

But if he is on 8GB RAM and can get another 8 for decent price then why not? Can leave that Chrome open when playing games :D

Sure, if he's on 8GB that might be worth while. What games are actually giving 8GB issues these days? I've been on 16 for almost two years, but the most I've seen a game consume is around 6GB for CoD Advanced Warfare (though I may have just not checked RAM usage for some other games I've played more recently).

WildLands, Division, DICE games, TW3 and GTAV at least love RAM and will use it if it's there. Maybe not using 10GB by themselves, but when you have games that stream actively data in and out of memory having more of it available for use will lessen swapping. More is put into memory and swapped out less often if at all.

Edit: Friend is sitting on 8 and just few days ago complained how it's noticeable in any open world game

Interesting. Not sure I ever bothered to check usage in the Witcher or any DICE games to this point. Now that you mentioned it I remember GTA5 did get my total usage very close to 50%.

I'm currently deciding between PC or Ps4 version.

My pc specs:

i5-4590 3.3ghz
GTX 970
8 gb RAM

I don't need to max everything but as long as it runs better than the ps4 version, I'd be satisfied. Will I be fine?

Yeah, that should pretty easily run it better than the PS4.

I'm always nervous when Frostbite is in anyone's hands other than Dice. Inquisition has performance issues to this day and the stuttering cut scenes were never fixed even when running at 60 fps. I'll see how it goes but I'll wait to hear impressions from the EA early access guys.

Its $52 for the PC version on amazon with the prime discount.

Would that give me an origin code for downloading the game? My pc doesn't have a disk drive.

Edit: just checked it out on Amazon and it says no disk. So it looks like I'd get a code. 20% off is a decent deal. Im thinking I'll get this version. Thanks for the tip.

Hey so i just found this thread and wanted to ask if my Setup would be fine (want to max as much as possible)

This is what im working with:

Processor: i7-4790K OC´d to 4,4Ghz
Ram: 16GB
GPU: GTX 980

But the problem is im running a 165Hz G-sync monitor @ 1440p and i want to have stable 140+ Fps or i puke :(

Would you guys say i need to upgrade to a 1070 or even a 1080Ti for this to work for me ?

I probably won't be able to play this in 4K on my machine, but I should hopefully be able to get 60 FPS at 1920x1080 resolution.

I'm a little below the recommended specs.

You want 1440p/140fps+, on what settings? I have reasoned doubts, that even a 1080 Ti will do it, on all Ultra.

Isn't that what G-Sync is for though?

Thats what im not sure of tbh :/

But what i hear ME:A as a Frostbite game is probably well optimized.

I do not need all on Ultra but as much as possible. (Im ok with not having silky smooth shadows or thigns i cant even see like SMAA sometimes)

Just made the switch to a high refresh rate monitor and feel like i cant go back in fast paced games, 140fps+ is not mandatory just the dream but solid 100 would be nice^^

Origin has a great refund policy so you could easily test and refund it if it doesn't work for you.

140fps+ or you puke??

And you want 1440p on Ultra?

Gsync doesn't really do anything at frameratea that high regardless. If I didn't know any better if think this was some kind of joke post. And yeah even a 1080ti might struggle to pull off what you're apparently looking for.

with the game using the Frostbite engine I was expecting it to push graphics forward...but the recommended spec of a GTX 1060 doesn't sound all that impressive...looks like my GTX 970 will run the game fine (1920 x 1200)

Not sure what version I should get.

Mass Effect has always been a console experience for me, and I have a Ps4 Pro and 1080P TV currently.

My PC specs are:

980TI
3570k @ Stock
SSD
16 GB RAM
1440P Monitor

I might just hold off for some performance reviews before I jump in, as Horizon is keeping me busy at the moment anyway.

980 is only as good as 1060. You can only get Ultra 1080p 60fps if the requirement is accurate.
You will need 1080Ti SLI if you want Ultra 1440p 144fps. And even the I don't think you'll get a 144fps lock.

Have you considered overclocking your 3570k?

Regardless, you should probably be fine at that resolution with your current specs.

Are you sure not even a 1080Ti(which is designed for 4k @60fps) is not enough for 1440p ME:A ???

Im just confused as i read Frostibe is such a well optimized engine.

And as said i dont need 140Fps but about 100-120 would be nice even if i need to turn down some settings thats why i askes if a 1070 would be enough i mean a 1080ti here in austria costs 820€ which is not a small investement.

Pc dummy here.

Will this run on a Pentium G3258 oc to 4.00GHz + gtx1060?

I want to know if I would be better off getting it on ps4.

Upgraded my RAM from 8gb to 16gb this weekend. Got an i5-4690k and a GTX 970 (both slightly overclocked). I should be good to run this on "high" settings at a solid 60fps on my 1080p monitor, right? Or does she need more power Captain?

We'll see once it comes out, but yeah you should be fine.

I see my old ass 650 ti Boost will be no help here. Probably going to play on PS4 until i can grab a 1060/1070 later this year

Will my PC be able to play ME:A at max settings @900p/60fps?

Intel i5 3570k 3.6 Ghz
GTX 1070
8GB RAM

You should easily be able to. I think the recommended specs are a bit on the high side. I would check out the trial on Origin Access if you are able just to see how things run.

lol good luck getting it to run at 1440p@165Hz

Not even the Titan XP can do that

What. Joke post?

Don't listen to this guy.

It was sarcasm.

Because, you know, asking if a 1070 can handle a game at 1600x900 is beyond ridiculous.

Sometimes I wonder how people spend so much money on PC hardware, and understand so little about what they purchased.
