Mass Effect: Andromeda releases Patch 1.05 Thursday, details more changes for future

i am more curious whether they improved performance...

They listed stability improvements. Hopefully that means that the potential memory leaks have been reduced/resolved. Or whatever it is that causes some big drops. Personally I run the game at max settings at 1080p with 60-90fps avg. At times though it can drop to 37-40. Mostly and perhaps only on the tempest so far. While I think the game looks fantastic visually on PC it suffers greatly when you compare it to BF1 that runs at about 70-80 avg. at twice the resolution with max settings.

There is also some kind of loading bug where loading a save that usually only takes a few seconds can take seemingly forever. Hope they fixed the camera stuttering that occurs while using a gamepad and the hotkey assignments and profiles resetting each time you load a saved game. A save where you saved the hotkeys etc.

Not sure I agree with changing Hainly Abrams, I learned a lot about the issues involved specifically because they did a bad job and people wrote about it. By all means, own up to it, talk about it, engage with the communities and do a better job next time but changing the dialog now feels like putting the genie back in the bottle.

It definitely leaves me with this nagging feeling that if maybe if Bioware weren't so open to changing their work to suit whatever backlash they get they'd do a more thorough job making sure they got it right in the first place.

It took a couple months for BF4 and BF1 to fix similar issues, so I expect late May before this stuff is cleared. Frostbite seems a fickle beast.

cool, if someone posts screens/comparison of the new patch post here and i'll put it in the op. i'd do it but i'm not near my gaming pc atm.

I mean sure, they can't really walk back Hainly dropping her deadname on someone she's just met, but I think it makes more sense to at least try than to say "Yeah, we get that it's really offensive, but fuck it, we're leaving it in." Doubly so when they've committed to changing or correcting so many other parts of the game.

It's not as good as if it had been done right the first time, but hey, it's a step in the right direction.

Looking forward to this when I get back home, mainly I hope most of the crash bugs and performance issues I have been seeing on PS4Pro are fixed.

Updating now. Here's hoping they fixed the DirectX error so I can play more than 10 minutes.

I had this error/crash during the trial and I fixed it by reducing my OC on my gpu to stock levels. Not a guarantee to work, but if you have an OC that may be the issue.

I should note I had zero crashes in around 70 hours of playtime after that.

Please let those of us who are stuck at work all damn day how the patch is. Screenshots would be helpful. Bonus points if anyone has PS4 Pro impressions!

Downloading now on PS4 (UK).

It didn't start automatically, but I just clicked the options button on the game's icon, and then clicked "Check for Update".

Eye shader is HUGELY improved.

Welp.

The patch didn't even fix the directx error. Crashed after 10 minutes and had to restart the PC. Beyond pissed at thus point.

you getting the "Out of memory" error referencing directx? If so, your page file is too small. Set it to "system managed" and reboot your machine.. and it should work.

I had my page file set to 3GB because I have 16GB of ram.. my game would also crash.. usually when opening the menu or the map. I set it to system managed and rebooted and it was fine in-game.. no more crash.

When I first load in, I got a "building shaders" message followed by 2-5mins worth of jerky performance. It then went back to normal after that.
