Massive Killzone Shadow Fall campaign blow-out on GTTV this week

Looking good, but why do all Killzone games feel like you're a midget walking amongst giants? The POV is too close to the dorr and every enemy and ally is taller. Drives me nuts.

This x100. It's absolutely ridiculous how Guerrilla insists on making us play as a midget. Unless you were an actual midget, then it would be pretty cool lol.

Seriously, can't wait for this game !!!

Looks like it's back to Killzone 2 roots which is great great news for me !!!

And those visuals...Wow !!! easily the best looking game on next-gen consoles.

Don't really get the rain complaints. Falling rain doesn't look anything special IRL either. Flash a strong light source on it such as what they're doing in most of these scenes and it just looks like streaks of light IRL as well. You don't get puddles and splashes all the time, unless it's heavy rain.

His skin moves pretty oddly in that gif

I felt the same way. I can't wait until performance capture (like what Crytek is using right now in Ryse) is common in all big budget titles. I bet it improves this kind of thing. Still, improved locales in this game looks stunning. GG has done some beautiful work with this game.

My only problem is that none of the objects in the scene have any interaction with the rain. Even in ps2 games, you would get a splashing animation on characters giving the impression that rain was hitting them. It's more of an art trick, nothing technical. Shouldn't have any noticeable performance hit.

Visually very impressive but that's a given with GG. All Killzone games have looked fantastic.

Still remains to be seen if it will have a terrible story like all the others.

I'd also like a hands on to get a feel for it

Not sure why Ryse is singled out...stuff like HS and Beyond did that last gen. TLoU was key framed I think, and it probably has my favourite facial animations.

Man, looked insanely impressive on the HD stream on the GT's website. Texture quality is incredible. Once again, the rain is the only sore spot.

I was shocked for a second when it went right from KZSF to Titanfall. Looked like a generational difference happened before my eyes, lol.

One game is running at 60fps, and the other is not.

Eh? Kz2 and kz3 maintain a solid 30 fps at all times. The only part that dropped frames in kz3 was in the forest with those mechanical spiders

Lol no. I have a good eye for that. Sadly.

Played through KZ3 a month ago and the framerate wasn't really consistent 30FPS.

The Killzone screenshot being discussed is from single player. Clarification really wasn't needed.

Well since Titan Fall doesn't have a Single Player, we should put it head to head against KZ:SF's multiplayer.

Do we really have to put screenshots side-by-side to know the gap between the two?

lol

Yeah, that's fully an artistic flourish, not a technical barrier. Light rain doesn't splash all over the place, and there's plenty of current gen games that handle light rain just like they're doing here.

Well, I have no self control and ended up watching a bit of the footage...

The footage on the website looked smooth and the frame rate seemed very stable. The game looks stunning, even with that pure shit player GT has. The forest level in particular has come so far from when it was at E3; it already looked good but it looks incredible now. The rain looks good when
the player is walking through the Helghast checkpoint and onto the platform,
but did look off at other moments. It just looks like they need to reduce the brightness on the rain and it would be fine.

I can't say I'm a fan of the slow-mo ability though. I remember Guerrilla mentioning that the use is finite, but it just looks a tad overpowered but I'll keep an open mind.

Although this was known before, I love that they are unlocking all the multiplayer stuff right at the start. Though I loved unlocking the classes and abilities in Killzone 2, it'll be nice to play a shooter where I don't have to grind just to get access to some of the basic parts of the game.

Well you still have to unlock all the attachments for said guns but yeah.

well I beat it this year and thought it was consistent. Anyway PS4 is way better/easier to program for than PS3. Hopefully this won't have the frame rate issues :P

edit: Digital foundry says the frame rate is smooth and you can look at the video -
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-vs-killzone-3?page=2

It was worse in the later parts of the campaign. Besides that the subtitle of the video says: "Although there are still occasions where Killzone 3 noticeably drops frames, the overall sensation is of a better performing experience compared to its predecessor."

It's just that a drop to lets say 26FPS results in a very strange feeling while aiming.

Please be good KZ:SF. I will play the shit out of this game. :D

Yet right now Titanfall looks like more fun to play
